Extended BF and leaving LO for weekend

I am currently nursing DD twice daily, morning and bedtime. DH and I will be leaving her next weekend for 2 nights/2 days, and I will be missing 4 consecutive nursing sessions. Do I need to pump? When I miss a session here and there, I don't pump and it's no big deal, but I've never missed that many sessions in a row. Thanks!

ETA: For those that are mobile, DD is 16 months old.

I would. Even if just manual or by hand for a bit, and especially if you want to keep nursing.

We went away for a similar weekend at 17m and also had a similar schedule at that time. I skipped the first bedtime pump but was quite full by the first morning (at which point I realized I forgot my flanges). I hand expressed over 3oz that am. I can't imagine what it would have been like after 48 hours.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, but it's been so long since I've come close to feeling engorged that I wasn't sure it was still possible!

I left DD2 at 21.5 months just overnight. I was nursing her 3 times a day. I carried my pump on the train to NYC. I didn't need it until the next morning but would have been uncomfortable had I not had it! I also hadn't been engorged in forever but didn't want to test it.

If you are driving I would absolutely take it without a second thought. Better not to ruin quality hubby time with engorgement or pain!

Yes, I would pump, just 2x/day.

I pumped in that situation. I didn't want to be miserable. Have fun!!

I skipped a weekend before at around 17 months with no engorgement and no issues with supply, while DD was still nursing several times a day. I still think it would be worth bringing your pump just in case you start feeling uncomfortable.
