We moved into a 4br house last summer. Our old house was 3br. I'm really glad we don't have to do a big shuffle in terms of who is where. DS stays in his room and gets a big boy bed; new baby gets a new room that is currently full of...junk; and the guest room remains a guest room.
I can't remember who was talking about crib conversion...we decided not to do that because of space. If DS had a full bed, there wouldn't be much space in his room for a desk (eventually) and toys. So we bought a twin mattress already and will buy a bed for him this fall. Mil is supposed to be buying it, but we'll see if she follows through. We will probably covert his crib to a toddler bed after our vacation.
My marriage barely survives with a queen size bed. Big nope to a double! I'm counting the days till we can get a king. And I'm also considering telling/asking DH to go sleep in the guest room until 2/8ish.

Yeah, we're making it work in a full size bed. But believe me when I say that when I was PG with J, I was miserable. MH was, too. Between the belly and the snoring and the rolling over, he slept less than me! I'm so excited to have a queen!
FWIW I'd love a king, but our room is awkward and I don't think we could comfortably fit a king in there. There's also the staircase issue... it's a short ceiling... I'm not even sure the queen box spring will make it up without scratching my walls and ceiling above the stairs. FX the delivery men can do it!

When we renovate our 3rd floor, I'm gonna plan for our master bedroom to fit a California king bed. DH is a big guy at 6'4" and is always untucking the sheets at the bottom of the bed. It drives me nuts. We could seriously use those extra couple of inches of foot room.

oldbaylover1024 - I woke up pukong as well so I will join you in solidarity.
Mom called me today wanting to finalize dates on my baby showers today. I live 7 hours away from where I grew up so my mom and sis want to do one where I grew up and one where I live. It just seems like it's too soon to talk about this but with the holidays and winter, I understand her concern.

crazycatlady6 I feel your pain with the pre-planning relatives. My MIL will routinely plan (and then inform me of) their visits more than 6-9 months in advance.

We just got a queen when I was pregnant with DS and I love it. It's so nice to have a little extra room. Especially when pregnant. We did last about 6 years of marriage with a double though. We used to be big snugglers while sleeping. Then DS spent a few months in our bed. We seem to have fallen out of the habit, even though DS sleeps in his crib now and has for over 6 months at this point. Hmmmmm.

FFTC... H has been in the guest room for over a month. We have a queen, but are both over 6'. He's gained some weight and thus started snoring regularly. I can't do that plus sweaty guy smell plus pregnancy insomnia. MIL is coming to visit at the end of the week... not sure if H is coming back to our room, or if he's sleeping on the couch, or what.

Also... my very first thought after hitting the tree was "I'm glad Britax isn't replace after every accident" then "oh shit" then "where the heck did that tree come from?" Mom priorities, people!
When we move into the new house we are getting a king set. I can't wait!! I need my room when I sleep, especially when I'm pregnant and have my snoogle which takes up more than half the bed. When I was dating DH, I had a full sized bed. He would fall asleep with me and then leave at like 1am and go home because he was so uncomfortable lol.
We have a three bedroom, our room, an office, and a guest room. We decided to move the office to our (unfinished) basement somehow because we can't fit both in the guest room (the rooms are really small).
Small win for the day. My dog likes to hunt and find socks. It's annoying. And bras too sometimes. H leaves his socks everywhere so she finds them and hides them in her bed. I did a lap around the bedroom when I got home and gathered all the laundry. She just spent two minutes hunting and found nothing! I outsmarted my dog for once! Small victories!

I told DH that as soon as we are done having babies and I'm done nursing we must get a king sized bed. I don't want to get a new one until spit up milk isn't a possibility. Our poor mattress barely survived DS's reflux. DH sleeps like a starfish and wraps/tucks the covers under his sides. It drives me insane. he also waited to start snoring until after we moved in together and got married. Love that man, but sleeping with him is the worst.

musicallyinclined - maybe this is a confession, but since I was pregnant when we bought our (expensive) new mattress, we also bought a waterproof liner. It's not loud or anything. I was just terrified that my water would break in bed, and it would ruin the mattress.
So I told H I think I already have a bump, and he started to reply but stopped. Me: what? Him: well, I don't think most people would think it's a baby bump. Me: because it just looks like fat? Him: Ummm Me: because it really is fat at this point. Him: Yeah, I can't win this. I'm just going to stop.

Y'all... I haven't been nauseated today. I've felt off a few times and plenty tired, but I haven't wanted to puke. I'm just as excited about that as I am the way Team USA is doing in Rio tonight.
I also have my first appointment tomorrow and I'm super excited about that!
