We need a pick-me-up on this board! So let's do an answer-one-ask-one GTKY thread. Basically, I'll ask a question, someone answers me, and then asks another question. Someone else answers the next question and asks another one... and so on and so on.
I'll start with a fact about me, just to get the thread going. In my AMA thread, no one asked me what I did for a living! I'm a tax accountant, but that wasn't what I imagined myself doing. I love art - specifically black and white photography (took 5+ years of photography classes, including college courses) and watercolor (years and years of art lessons and classes).
GTKY Question: Is the house you live in now your 'forever' house? If so, why? What's so special about it? If not, what style house is your dream house?

GTKY Question: Is the house you live in now your 'forever' house? If so, why? What's so special about it? If not, what style house is your dream house? It has the potential to be, after we renovate our unfinished 3rd floor attic space, but I wouldn't necessarily call it my dream house. It is our dream location though. I would LOVE to have a grand victorian style house. There are a whole bunch in my town (and neighborhood) that are gorgeous. We have a little ho hum colonial with not much personality.
GTKY Question: Ultimate last meal - what would it be?
GTKY Question: Ultimate last meal - what would it be?
This took me awhile. I'm still debating. I'd have a slice of NY style pepperoni pizza, a waygu steak, lobster tail, and Caesar salad. With lots of Sprite.

GTKY Q: Favorite vacation you've ever taken?
DH and I went to Antigua in May. It was spectacular. I feel a little guilty that we didn't take DS, but there will be more vacations for him to take with us.
GTKY Q: What's the best concert you've ever been to?
GTKY Q: What's the best concert you've ever been to?
I've been to Virgin Festival a few times. The first year I saw The Who and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Another year I saw Beastie Boys and Amy Winehouse. It's hard to pick. The Who is just... OMG I love them! But seeing Beastie Boys and Amy Winehouse was amazing. She passed away not long after that show.
I also saw a great show where Jimmy Eat World opened up for Green Day. The venue was a perfect outdoor setting, and the show was phenomenal.
GTKY Q: Cats or dogs? And why? I've found people have strong opinions regarding pets

GTKY Q: What's the best concert you've ever been to?
H and I saw Justin Timberlake and Jay Z at the Rosebowl in LA. The whole experience was amazing. I'm kinda obsessed with Jay Z, even though looking at me you would never guess it!
DOGS! 🐶 I adore dogs and can't wait to live in a place that they're allowed (right now in our condo building renters can't own dogs 😒) I just don't like cats very much. I was bitten by one when I was a kid- I was sitting at the dining room table and it just came up under the chair and sunk it's teeth into the back of my leg! Also, they are so temperamental. My MILs cat would come up and have me pet her. Then when she was done with me petting her, instead of walking away like a normal animal- or a DOG- would, she'd just start HISSING at me and gnarling her teeth. NO THANK YOU!
GTKY: how'd you meet your SO?
In college, he lived across the hall from my then-BFF's suite. I spent 90% of my time at her suite and he was in the swim team so we became friends with the swimmer boys. His suite mate had a wii (back in 2007!) so we started going over and playing golf with them since they were in their dry (no drinking) season as a pre game before we'd go out. They finally finished their season and we all went out, I bought him a beer, and then he kissed me that night 😊
New Q: if you could have any number of kids (no worries about $) how many and what sex of each would you have?
New Q: if you could have any number of kids (no worries about $) how many and what sex of each would you have?
I'd love to have two girls and a boy. DH only wants two, and apparently I'm old AF, so I know I'll at least have one girl. I will totally be happy with whatever this one turns out to be. I have FOMO if we don't get a boy, but I love my baby girl so much, I would love to have another girl. I think my ideal would be 2 girls and a boy.
People not doing what they say/not being on time. Honor your word, don't make commitments you can't keep, and figure out how to arrive at a place when you say you'll be there. I have flexibility for those one time late instances... but those people who are chronically 10-15 minutes behind? Nope. (We will see how having a second kid changes me there... I can still get places with one just fine most of the time.)

Q: What hobby did you have as a little kid? A: Baseball in the summer. I started t-ball just before I was technically eligible (they were just shy the number of kids needed to have 2 teams so they bent the rules a little), and played every year (softball) after that until I graduated high school. Year round hobby was reading. I loved my books!
New Q: If money was no issue, where would you take your dream vacation?
Q: If money was no issue, where would you take your dream vacation? Australia and New Zealand. I'd love to RV and hike around New Zealand. Then I'd go to Australia and spend some time on a liveaboard doing scuba diving.

Q: What food reminds you of your childhood?
When I was a kid and we visited my grandparents in Delaware, we always got Stromboli from this pizza place by their house. It was the best Stromboli I've ever had. Ever. In my whole life. And every time I eat Stromboli now, I just think about sitting in their basement, eating together at the table, laughing. Le sigh... My Bacci (polish for grandmother) would have loved to have met my daughter. There's a lot of her spunk in J.
ETA: And now I'm crying at my desk at work...

What trait do you wish you learned, but never mastered?
How to play the piano. My music career would have really taken off if I learned how to play, I would also have a lot more gigs. For some reason, my brain can't handle doing 2 different things at once.
New Q: If you could qualify for any summer Olympic sport, which one would it be and why?

[quote author="monicageller" *snip* New question: Do you live in your hometown or did you move away? Why?[/quote]
I live in my hometown, but I did move away for 2.5 years when I first got married. Why am I back here? Most of my family lives here, and we're pretty close. We also like this area - it's in the country, and very pretty. H and I both grew up in the same general area, and we knew we wanted our kids to experience the kind of life we did and to be close to grandparents and great grandparents.
Question: What season is your favorite and your least favorite and why?
Question: What season is your favorite and your least favorite and why? Fall! I love the excitement around back to school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, the colors, smells, and food. I really don't like early spring (AKA winter part II) because it's so long and cold here in Chicago. At least this year I'll have new squish to cheer me up!!!
We live near a street with awesome restaurants so I'd go out to one of the fancy ones will amazing food. Then afterward we'd go out dancing! We've been taking social dancing classes for about a year and it's a lot of fun. And then we'd come home and relax with candles and wine. (clearly the wine will have to wait)
If you could change one thing about your current apartment/condo/house/living situation, what would it be?

The kitchen!!! It's on our major project list for later next year. The cabinets are so tall I can only reach the bottom shelf without a step ladder. The refrigerator and dishwasher are 20+ years old. The floor is fake wood.. Lighting needs to be updated and switches moved to more practical location(s).
Does your current career line up with what you envisioned for yourself at some point in your life?
I'm gonna keep this thread going because I like it... even though it's no longer Tuesday. Anyone still want to play?
Q: Does your current career line up with what you envisioned for yourself at some point in your life? Newp. I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was younger. I'm now in project management in the medical device industry. I think my dream job would have been to be one of those underwater photographers for national geographic.
New Q: Two part - 1 thing that's endearing about your SO, 1 thing that drives you nuts.

Two part - 1 thing that's endearing about your SO, 1 thing that drives you nuts.
1. He makes up words to songs when he doesn't know the real words. It's hilarious!
2. He had some horrible mental block about loading the dishwasher. It just does not occur to him to put his dishes in the dishwasher instead of on the counter. Drives. Me. Crazy!
New Q: (Hopefully this isn't too similar to the earlier question...) what was your college major? Are you doing something with your degree, or are you doing something else?
I bounced around a lot after high school. I started my first year in university right after graduating and I majored in English. I didn't make it through one semester though. A year or so later I went to a specialized school for Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. I am doing absolutely nothing with that diploma, I currently work in magazine publishing in a totally non fashion field lol, but I did learn a lot from both experiences and contribute a lot of my success to that diploma
