It is still raining. Omg. We are in South Louisiana and I haven't experienced this much rain in except during hurricanes. So stuck inside again today. Although we might have to brave it to the store down the street since we out of everything. There are a lot of people being evacuated. Thankfully our house is fine and our neighborhood is in pretty good shape.
Any good vibes, thoughts and/or prayers would be appreciated.
It's my birthday today, and aside from some laundry that needs to be done, I plan on being a lazy bum all day. DH and DD1 are going to make me a super chocolatey cake, so they say, and I'm kind of ridiculously excited about it. And blue apron box arrived, so I don't have to even cook tonight. So far, I'm a happy lady.

Today is commencement. I'm ridiculously excited. We went out for a huge breakfast and took a nice walk on campus. Now we're resting for a bit before heading out to the ceremony.
We have nothing going on this weekend which is fine with me! The heat index for today is 110. I'll be sitting in my air conditioned house all weekend since I worked in this shit all week.
We're having our first day of rain in about a month long drought. The city has been going around watering the trees. It's finally cool enough that I was able to bake some muffins today. It's been too hot to tolerate the oven being on, and I live in Canada so this is not normal.
It's hot here too. DD is taking a nap and I had big plans to get some stuff done around the house, however, I've managed to eat some Oreos and watch Friends instead.
It's extremely hot and humid here as well. I hung my cloth diapers out on the clothesline and they got poured on an hour later. Oh well... It's hot enough they should still dry quickly. It's supposed to feel like 113 here. Ick.
We are putting together shelves we got from ikea, and rearranging the living room a little. Actually we *were* doing that. H has just reclined his lazy boy, so I'm guessing he's going to be napping. Have I mentioned how much my husband napping makes me want to smother him with a pillow? STOP STAYING UP SO LATE WATCHING STUPID MOVIES AND YOU WONT HAVE TO BE USELESS FOR MOST OF THE NEXT DAY! /rant
shawnabm1320 we are life twins with the napping husbands. And the pillow smothering. I mean, if I slept as much as he did during the day NOTHING would get done.

EmMilAlly, I wouldn't mind (ok, I still would, but I'd mind less) if he stayed up late one or two nights a week and took a nap the next day in the bedroom or something, but it has been constant lately, and he just fell asleep in the middle of a project! Like, what am I supposed to do while he's dozing on the lazy boyh!? And napping right in front of me too! So rude. I wonder what he'd do if I just up and fell asleep in the middle of the day and said "you're on baby duty, have fun!" Grrrr. Ok, I'll try to be done fuming now... Haha!

We're hosting 7 kids all under the age of 10 for an overnight. Yes... We're crazy.
I escaped to Home Depot and bought black out shade for the nursery and our master bedroom. Next is dinner then a bubble bath then Netflix in bed. Ahhhh... So excited to escape! MH is amazing and forcing me to relax!
Oh and had a great morning with J grocery shopping She was so sweet and cute the whole time. I'm gonna miss the 'just us' time more than I like to admit :/

When I wake up in the morning I'm like "Not much of a baby blump today," and by the end of the day I'm like "Why do I look 5 months pregnant!?"
Enjoying a lazy afternoon. We had lunch at the in-laws, and now H is taking a nap (of course), and I'm going to read or crochet. I have a baby blanket to finish in 2 weeks. Eep! I think my dad and step-mom are coming over tonight to visit. I hope they don't want fed, because I was planning on eating leftovers... Lol

Today is DS's 4th birthday. So we had his friend party yesterday at a gymnastics center. All the kids had a ton of fun, and I'd say it was a success. Today it's been raining all day. DH golfed this morning, so DS and I went grocery shopping. Then we have DS his presents and have been sitting around playing with his new stuff all day. I'm along breakfast for dinner and I'm pretty excited about it.
Husband decided on a whim that today he was going to take down the old Victorian tin ceiling in our living room. 3 hours and whole hell of a lot of mess that I was not prepared to deal with today. And now I get to look at an art deco wallpapered plaster ceiling with beams that aren't really beams.

There were a couple that were sagging, and when he went to go tack then back up they fell down and started his whole removal process. I understand his thoughts- it clearly was failing and could have fallen on a kid or someone else.
It honestly wasn't bad visually to look at, but it was painted white and you could barely see the tin pattern. I have no idea what the next step, or ultimate plan is.

ls2012 - Man, I wonder what the pattern was! A house I grew up in had a tin ceiling in the kitchen and it was so cool. Of course it was unpainted and wasn't falling down so we didn't have an issue Have fun coming up with a plan!
