Saw the urologist on Friday. She wants a repeat of the VCUG because the first one they did, they did not get a picture of the PUV, the valve connecting the urethra to the bladder. She says that based on his symptoms thus far she thinks that valve is not totally open so urine is not able to completely drain. If that is the case he will need a pretty minor surgery to break open the valves and that should solve it. She ordered it stat and he will have the test done this Friday. I really liked her and feel confident with her. She will be performing the catheterization for this test, since the last time he had this test he had to be catheterized 5 times before they finally got it right. Right now his right kidney has decreased in function a bit, but his left kidney is picking up the slack. The hope is that this surgery would stop any further deterioration. So, at least we are headed in the direction of finally getting some answers.
PUV is a very fixable issue, so I hope they are able to take care of it soon. I hope the catheter goes easier now that he is bigger. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers!
I love the feeling of finding a provider who you click with! I am so hopeful that her gut is right and that your little man can be done with all the tests and issues soon!

I'm so glad that you like his doctor, and so happy that it may be solved with a minor surgery. Thinking of you both and hoping things go well on Friday.
