Morning!! Trying to find motivation to work on this grey Monday. I am having lunch with a friend, so there is that to look forward to at least!
I'm feeling encouraged, C hasn't been a fan of most vegetables he's tried (other than carrots, sweet potatoes and butternut squash - nothing green has gone well), but last night he ate every last bite of broccoli, then a serving of potato, then was still hungry so I gave him the plums I'd made for today's breakfast! He's never eaten that much solids in one sitting, I think he would've probably kept going, too but I had nothing else thawed. I think he's working up an appetite working so hard towards crawling. He went from being totally stationary to getting himself all over the place by various means in just a few days. I think we are days, not weeks, from him crawling. Eee!

Have any of you missed a period postpartum? Mine returned at 3 months, despite EBF, and I've had a total of four now. I've always been irregular, but I'm starting to freak out a bit. I have Paragard so my periods are supposed to keep coming around. Aside from the first postpartum period I will get it at least every 40 days, mostly in the low to mid 30s, but I'm on day 42. I know I'm going to go grab a test just in case, but if anyone could tell me they've skipped one and they're fine and not PG that would be great for my nerves right now. I really hope BF is the culprit.

I've been a little bit irregular post partum, but I'm not BF so I can't comment on that. The advice I took was to order some Wondfos to keep around for times like these.

geners, Our green veggies have gone over much better as whole foods as opposed to purees. Gerber green beans & peas were the only foods she's ever actually spit out, but she will eat diced actual green beans, mashed butter/lima beans, etc. with no issue.

thatgirlrachel I should just go do that or get some dollar store tests. I am really hoping its breastfeeding and hormone fluctuations. I hate having irregular periods.
beaglemom2011, mine has not returned, but I was super irregular before i got pregnant....it's my understanding that your period can change over time, especially after interruptions like extended use of hormonal birth control or pregnancy. I went on the pill 11 years ago, at that time my period came every 18-21 days, I spent ~4 years on the pill and came off after college because of a gap in primary care, then my cycles were every 40-50 days, then I went back on the pill for about 5 years, and the 3 cycles I had before my BFP were 183 days, 92 days, 52 days, and I got my BFP on day 48 of the next cycle (BFN on day 46).
...all that to say testing probably isn't a bad idea...but cycles can also change dramatically over time.

Morning! I'm supposed to be attending an induction tomorrow as a helper for the doula. Eep! She made it sound like I could go it alone but I'd much rather observe/help this time. My workshop isn't until the second weekend in Sept so I feel unprepared to do it by myself. But I'm excited! And nervous. I have no idea how long I'll be away. I've only left R twice, both times for short dentist appointments. He's never really taken a bottle. He's good with a straw cup so should we just skip straight to that? I'm afraid my mom will just fill him full of solids. :/

gdaisy09 I'm pretty sure mine have been irregular after 10 years of hormonal birth control. They were pretty regular as a teenager. I haven't had a cycle longer than 40 days without birth control though. Usually they range from 22-40 days, but mostly in the 30s. I guess there could just be a change after Olivia.

geners Olivia only likes the sweeter veggies too. HelgaHuffle Good luck tomorrow! That sounds pretty exciting. I'd try the straw cup if it works right now.
We potty trained FS2 over the weekend and sent him to daycare without a diaper today! I packed about 5 pairs of undies and 4 pairs of shorts just in case. We will see how he does. With the exception of about 4 soaked shorts on Saturday morning, he's told us every time he needs to go.
The baby is getting better and better at eating solid foods. He will actually lean in to the spoon to eat now. He doesn't seem to like anything green either. But seems to really love butternut squash. My mom said that was one of mine and my siblings favorites too. I didn't realize how much that would impact his formula intake but since we've been more consistent with real food, he will only take like 4-6 oz of formula at a time. Before, he would consistently eat 8 oz 5 times a day.

So we've been wanting to get DS (2) off of his paci for awhile but have been dragging our feet because he is the best sleeper ever and we didn't want to mess it up. I decided we were going to try the cutting the paci method and we were going to start this past weekend but forgot so decided to do it this coming weekend. Well he has slept two nights with no paci. He just didn't ask for it and we didn't offer. We didn't even do it on purpose. I can't believe it. He LOVES his paci. It's a summer miracle. I hope it continues.
In other sleep news, the baby is now in regular sleep sacks instead of zipadeezips. It took a couple nights, but she's sleeping normally again. She's a pro at putting the paci back in now and we rarely go in at night anymore.
DD1, on the other hand, gets up at least once per night for various reasons. She had a horrible cough last night and slept with me from 2-5:30 when she declared she wanted to go back to her bed. Someday she'll STTN. Or go to college. Whichever comes first.

I've been pretty irregular. And I'm on BC. And when I'm not I'm usually super duper regular. It's really freaking annoying.
I ran 10 miles today. Take that Monday, you sonofabitch.
My job for the position I'm leaving got posted today and I've been getting texts from teacher friends asking what's going on. I'm having all the sads all over again.

My baby had to get vaccines today. Boohoo The Dr recommended we do an early mmr because Cam is at high risk since we live overseas. We also did his flu shot. He handled it ok but was a monster when I got him home. He is currently sleeping, which I hope lasts at least an hour.
Weight is 26% Height is 83% Head is 70%
I can't believe he is almost 30 inches long. Crazy!!
It's raining here today and I really need to go to the grocery store, but am not going to do it if it doesn't slow down.
H got bit by a dog yesterday (he's ok), we're waiting to hear from his doctor if he should get prophylactic rabies treatment because the dog and owner were gone before H could get any of their info or the dog's vaccination status.
my boss is on vacation this week, I'm trying really hard to focus on getting caught-up on the long-standing stuff that gets bumped down my priority list when he's around...i'm finding minimal success
H had a job interview last week for a position out of state, the interview went well, but he won't hear anything unitl later this week. It would be a great opportunity, but it's making everything seem up in the air until we hear. this is not the time of year I'd want to be putting our house on the market.

Hi all! The beginning of our fall semester is whooping me and I just realized I never posted my randoms. So EG has started saying "baba" and I am 95% sure she is trying to say mama. She's repeating it the same way she did when she learned "dada". She walks around saying "baba, baba" and repeats is anytime I tell her to say "mama". It's the cutest!
BFing/EPing moms, I have a question. On workdays, I normally pump at 7:30am, 10am, 1pm and 4:30pm (give or take 15/30 min). Tomorrow, I have a meeting from 9-10a and a training from 12-4p. What would you do/when would you pump?
Holy shit, guys! I'm going to be alone for this birth tomorrow. I don't know what I'm doing! I'm off to google about massage and rice socks in labor.
Deep breaths! You've got this! You've been through it twice yourself and I know you have done the appropriate doula research. I can't wait to hear how awesome you do!

I got my first PP period around 4 months, and not again since. (I'm EBFing.) I took 2 pregnancy tests and they were negative, so I'm chalking it up to still-crazy hormones.
