Milestones: He finally found his feet and swapped toys from one hand to another!! He's only done the latter once, but it happened!
Challenges: Teething. It can go straight to hell. He cried almost all afternoon. His gums are so swollen. I am betting the tooth/teeth? cut through soon.
Cute/Funny Stories: He was asleep in his swing and I turned it off. I left the room to get him an outfit for the day. Came back in and he was on his belly with his legs hanging off. I can't even with this kid!
How are you? I am so tired. Yesterday was rough. Hoping today is much better
QOTW: I love the belveta bars. They are super yummy and pretty filling.

Age: 6 days
Milestones: sleep smiles
Challenges: cluster feeding
Cute/Funny Stories: if I kiss her between the corner of her mouth and her cheek she nearly always gives me a reflexive smile.
How are you? Feeling better since she cluster fed less last night. Struggling with DH's foot having taken a turn for the way worse the day DD3 was born
QOTW: What's your favorite on-the-go breakfast? Overnight oats or chia seed pudding in a mason jar
Milestones: More and more alert. Looks like we are getting close to those social smiles. She also started sleeping in her room - in the bassinet in the crib but hey its progress right?
Challenges: We are currently in the middle of the 6 week growth spurt. Super clingy and super fussy especially evening once DH gets home. Last night was better for sleep but the night before she was up from 12:30 to 6 a.m. It was rough.
Cute/Funny Stories: Not much on this front but I have to share one of her "newborn" photos that were actually taken when she was almost a month. It is a cape to represent her brother and his boxing gloves from his last Halloween costume (he was a fighter)
How are you? Doing really well. She is very good with me and we are falling into a sort of routine. This weekend DH will be out of town so this should be interesting - solo parenting.
QOTW: What's your favorite on-the-go breakfast? Brown Sugar Pop-Tarts. I actually eat them cold as in I keep them in the fridge and eat them from there. I know I'm weird.

Milestones: He's really experimenting with sounds all of a sudden, babbling up a storm. Also, we tried meat (chicken puree) for the first time. He loved it of course. Oh, and he's *starting* to lift his arms when I come over to pick him up!
Challenges: Not much, doing well.
Stories: I can't think of anything specific, but look how dapper he looked at my dad's wedding over the weekend.
Me: Doing well. Nothing to report really.
QOTW: Since I stay home, my breakfasts are generally made here, like eggs or pancakes or something. If we are gone/on the road, I take oatmeal bars or just eat dry cereal.

DS is 10.5 months
He'll stand for a minute or so unassisted, but only if he's distracted (i.e. his hands are full of toys)
He's been grumpy the past few nights...possibly teething, or might just be overtired from not napping at DC
We were at a friend's house who has toddler boys, and they had a big plastic dump truck toy. DS pulled to standing on it and pushed that thing around for probably 30 minutes straight. Anytime he ran into a wall, he would just look at me until I turned the truck around for him.
Work is getting a little crazy, so overtime is just around the corner. Makes me sad because I know there is a chance I'll start having to leave for work w/o getting to see DS.
QOTW: I almost always eat cereal at home, but if I have to grab something, it's usually from a drive-thru. Sta.rbucks and Ch.ick-fil-a are top of that list.
DX: MFI TTC April 2011 BFP #1 7/15/11, EDD 3/22/12 - CP Varicocelectomy surgery 9/4/12 - T improved to normal, but still MFI IVF #1 w/ ICSI Jan 2015 - 11R/6M/6F, ET of a 3AB expanded blast w/ none to freeze.
Milestones: Nothing really new in this last week. She had been more awake/alert during the day but now is more sleepy over the past few days. I guess we're coming off a growth spurt?
Challenges: Sleep.
Cute/Funny Stories: Nothing really here either. We're in the sleep/eat/poop stage.
How are you? Exhausted. It's catching up to me and I had a bit of a breakdown last night (really this morning). But one day at a time. Can't wait until we start getting more interaction or smiles.
QOTW: What's your favorite on-the-go breakfast? Cookies.

Age: 4.5 months
Milestones: His first tooth popped through on Saturday! He's also doing well with sitting on his own.
Challenges: Will he ever roll over?? I mean, 20 pounds is a lot to heft over, but c'mon dude! You can do it!
Cute/Funny Stories: He's back on a blowing raspberries kick, and did it last night with a mouthful of oatmeal. I laughed, DH wasn't too impressed.
How are you? Cherishing my last days home with my chunky monkey. I work 2 days next week, and back to work for real on the 30th.
QOTW: What's your favorite on-the-go breakfast? I usually do cereal or eggs in the morning. If I'm running late, cookie dough pop tarts. If I don't feel like breakfast at home, a sausage egg mcmuffin is a favorite treat.

Age: 3 weeks!
Milestones: Staying awake longer and more often.
Challenges: mostly just juggling 2 kids. L has daily homework now that he needs help and parental supervision to do. At the same time S usually wants to be held the entire time he is asleep.
Cute/Funny Stories: S hates being in the floor, it doesn't matter if he is on his back or tummy, he really hates floor time. He is now making a lot more noises (other than crying) and I love that he has no problem expressing his frustration with floor time.
How are you? Feeling ok, I have some days where I feel a bit depressed but most days are good. I am really trying to focus on S and not think about the short time I have with him before he goes to daycare.
I have also been struggling with knowing this will be our last child. Ideally we would want to have a third, both H and I would be open to trying but it's not going to happen for a few reasons. The main one being we can't afford 3 kids, especially when 2 would be in DC and we live in a HCOL area. Another is that I do not want to go through fertility treatments again and trying naturally means it could take years (again) and with me turning 30 and already having crap eggs it most likely would take years.
So, in short H and I would like a 3rd but there is no way we can do it without winning the lottery. H will be getting a vasectomy soon and that will be it.
QOTW: What's your favorite on-the-go breakfast? Being dairy and egg free makes it hard to have an on the go breakfast. It would have to be toast or a bagel with PB or jam. When I go back to work it will most likely be toast in the car then cold or hot oatmeal at work.
readinglove 6 months and no rolling here. They all develop skills differently, and I really think the bigger babes tend to have a harder time with rolling. He'll get there eventually!

Thank you! Hearing that helps me breathe a bit easier.

sarcaztic10, I totally am there with you regarding no more babies. I cried when I noticed baby boy is almost out of his newborn clothes. We always just wanted 2, but doing it all at the same time and knowing all of this is our first and last time for everything is hard.
