We had a weird 2am wake up, hoping this isn't a new thing. Ugh
Just found that there is a huge kids consignment event going on near my house today. I am going to check it out. Would love to find a bunch of good used toys. Also going to baby gym again today, hoping Cam will handle it even better today.
Finally got a photographer booked for next week while we are in CO. Pretty excited about it!

DoesItComeInPink We have leather seats and I've only ever noticed dents. But honestly I rarely ever see the seats because the car seats are always in the car. Also, you're not supposed to use seat protectors unless the car seat manufacturer says it's ok.
I FINALLY got around to trying to move carseats around in our spare vehicle. It didn't go well.
We have leather seats and I have seat covers on them and the car seats aren't getting tight enough. I'll have to try again tomorrow without the seat covers. Anyone with leather seats had any damage from carseats directly on them?
DH has been working long hours, I've barely seen him and today is looking to be another long day. Hopefully we have a nice weekend.
We have leather seats and I agree with obscure that we have only seen dents. I haven't removed the car seat base since it was installed, but I have seen other things leave slight dents that eventually work themselves out...it just takes a while.

You're going to Breckenridge, right? One of my best friends went in March and her pictures of the views were awesome. You'll have to AW some of yours!
Morning! Slamming some coffee. C was up a few times last night, for really long periods of time. MH and I took him in shifts. My neck is killing me from dozing sitting in the glider while holding him. Not sure what was up with him, just being a baby probably.
The contractors are here again, in theory they are finishing up today. All that's left is a new railing on the upstairs balcony and a set of stairs off the back porch. Can't wait for this to be done so we can enjoy our new spaces!!
Ugh! H has his 2nd set of rabies shots this morning, so I'm WFH until he's done...so far LO has screamed for an hour fighting her first nap and I've gotten nothing done. H should be getting a job offer today, it would be huge, but will eventually require a move and will immediately require us to make child care arrangements for 2-4 days a week depending on what kind of arrangement I can make with work (3 10Hour days + 1-2 WFH, 1 10Hour day + 2 8Hr days + 2 WFH...) and it would mean being a single parent 4-5 days a week short-term; not ideal but H would get an immediate 60-80% raise and would finally be in a position with more opportunity for growth.
I am in a tizzy, not quite a frenzy, trying to get some work done, showering, finish packing, bake, and meal plan for me on my trip (I am so stressed about food). We are hoping to leave around 4 am to make the trip a bit more bearable (hopefully this does not backfire!).
Our car is going to be packed to the gills and we even got a rooftop carrier (we are bringing our double jogging stroller). No rain is forecast for the next week... ditch the rain boots and rain jacket?

+1. MH and I are pretty sure we control the weather around here. All we have to do is water the lawn because there's no rain in the forecast, and boom. Rain the next day. Other surefire ways are to make outdoor plans or leave the umbrella at home.

That's what I figured... I had played that scenario in my head, but was hoping for confirmation I was being crazy. Apparently not
DoesItComeInPink we have leather seats and haven't seen any damage so far from the car seat base that we have. We just had to be sure it was installed really tight because it was a little slippery at first. We just pressed down on the base really hard and made sure the securing straps were as tight as they could go. It's nice and secure and the only thing I have noticed is dents that come out easily on the rare occasion we take the base out.
expatmama11 sorry for the 2 am wake up, hopefully it isn't the norm for you. The baby gym sounds like fun and a huge kids consignment always sounds fun, hope you find some neat stuff!
Morning geners! Sorry you had a tough night last night. Whenever I keeps me up in awkward positions and I get a sore neck I get a little relief from taking a rolled up towel or small blanket and putting it behind my neck. I hold each end in a hand then kinda slowly roll my neck around. It sounds weird but it helps. Hope it feels better soon and fxd the contractors get done soon so you can enjoy your new space!
gdaisy09 rabies shots suck! Ugh btdt hopefully lo calms down and you can get things done. I hope you're able to work an option out that works best for you and your family.
byjove I hope you have a fun safe trip! I definitely agree with gdaisy and Geners that it will definitely rain if you leave the jacket and boots lol. Can you take disposable ponchos instead? The packaging would take up less space and if you don't use them you could store them in your car for another time or emergency.

+1. This is truly a damned if you do/don't situation.

Morning! I'm trying to get over being grumpy this morning. :/ I need to run to town for a few things later. H has to work all weekend so we have no exciting plans. There's an open house at our local air evac helicopter hanger tomorrow. I thought about taking F (and R, of course) but he probably won't care that much.
I turned F's car seat forward facing in my car yesterday (he's 3). Is it weird that it gives me all kinds of anxiety?

It's new and new can always be scary. I get anxiety about silly things all the time, so I feel that anxiety here is very understandable.
That's how h woke me up at 5:15 this morning lol. He apparently forgot to set his alarm and woke up 15 min before he had to leave for work. So after the initial panic was over I helped him rush around to leave then finally got a little more sleep before baby girl woke me up for her breakfast.
She's been a little sneezey and congested, poor baby, and sneezed her morning cereal in my face and hair lol. So it looks like today is good so far?
No big plans other than visiting h's family this weekend so hopefully it will be fun and this morning isn't a foreshadowing of how the weekend will play out lol.
thatgirlrachel, totes adorbs. These sneaky babies! If we turn our back, without fail Margs goes for shoes. She wants to chew on everyone's shoes... kinda like a puppy.
thatgirlrachel that's ok. I'm mobile but I don't use tapatalk. We used to use a website that would shrink the pic and put it in a code usable on a forum but I don't remember what the new one is.
HelgaHuffle I hope your day gets better. The helicopter hanger sounds like it would be interesting. I totally get the anxiety surrounding the new seat position. I get anxiety everytime we do something new for I lol.

thatgirlrachel Just be glad it was puffs. I gave DD1 a bottle of tums when she was about 8 months and she got it open and sampled a bunch of them. She didn't eat any, but she definitely tasted them before I noticed what she was doing. Never did that again!

The baby has done two new things today. She figured out how to get back to sitting from her belly and she pulled up to her knees. She is desperately trying to figure out crawling. It is so cute.
She is looking better today but is still congested. She was up at 5:00 today and didn't go back down until 6:30 so we're all messed up with our schedule. Poor baby. She thinks getting her nose sucked out is hilarious though.
I don't even own rain boots or jackets for any of my kids...does everyone spend time outside in the rain? We just throw an umbrella in the car. Am I doing it wrong?

Like not even just thin fabric normal car seat covers, not a special protection thing? I keep them on all seats in all my cars.
Hmmm that I'm not sure about. Maybe rainbowsockmonkey could weigh in on this?
@tifga I'm sure I missed something, but why is Haddie not allowed to go just because of age? If it's a normal run of the mill wedding it does seem rather odd to not be able to bring your child.

It's a child free wedding. Except for the bride's niece she's going.
I have feels about this.
we did a child free wedding...BUT babies were excluded from that rule (though I'm still irritated for SIL for setting her pack'n'play up right behind our sweetheart table at the reception) and the only other children involved were local to where the wedding was and had lots of seasoned babysitters (who we offered to pay).
