@suesposa you're killing me with "loinfruit" haha!!
Not motn just yet here, but I have a question - I could only get DD to nurse on one side earlier, around 8:30. So she hasn't eaten off my right side since 6:30 and I'm feeling it - very hard and sore. I actually thought she was just waking up to eat, but when I sat down with her and whipped a boob out, she was completely conked out. I'm exhausted due to her adventures last night from 9pm to 6 am - do I wake her to eat and rescue my poor boob? Leave her to sleep and trust she'll wake up soon on his own?
I'm excessively paranoid about not feeding her enough and losing my milk :-(

@lakermama66 theophania @suesposa thank you! I need to get my pump out and try again, basically...i did try to pump early on, when my milk first came in and I was super engorged. Got my Medela pump in style advanced all set up, hooked it up to the boob,aaand...nothing. Nothing happened, nothing came out, not even on highest setting - I eventually turned it off in frustration but could definitely try again and just keep that thing latched on for however long it takes?
Something should be happening. Is the pump pulling your nipple in and out properly? Maybe you need a larger flange?
Yeah the pump appears to be pulling my nipple in and out properly - I just never saw any milk come out and I let it go for about five minutes. Feeling dumb because I was in target earlier and could have grabbed some more flanges to try, but wasn't thinking about it!
Ugh hope she sleeps, gratefulgirl! 1.5 hour intervals is rough.
I have officially moved DD3 out of the rock n play, she has slept in her crib for the past week and a half. So that's a relief. I also ordered a swaddle sleep sack that should come today. I'm hoping it will help her sleep better since she keeps breaking out of the A&A swaddle.
This baby just slept over 6 hours in a row. Not sure if I'm worried or ecstatic. I finally woke her up to eat because surely that stretch is a little long for a 5 day old.
LO uses the sleep sheep and she's right next to my bed. I am becoming quite attached to it too!
I can see it now...she'll be going off to college and you'll be like, "I can keep the sheep, though, right...??"
We used a fan in our room for DD1. When she moved to the nursery I made H get us another fan. 4.5 years later every reason on in the house has one. #whitenoiseforlyfe
We have a Homedics sound spa (the one TD lovingly called the Baby Crack Machine) for each kid and they are awesome.
I don't wake to feed but I have been doing a dream feed right before I go to sleep for the night and it works well.
I am zero for 3 on a dream feed working. The kids all take a half feed and still wake up. So sad, it is a brilliant idea.
ETA: I had that sound machine in college. H told me no more when we got married. I miss it and feel I had the last laugh since he now uses white noise.
So, I fell asleep feeding DD last night (don't worry, there were no pillows or blankets near her) and she slept for 3.5 hours. My kids just really like to sleep beside mummy.

I should just start here now, I think.
DS was awake from 1-5 this morning. Please let that not repeat tonight. DH's friend is stopping by at 9:30 in the morning and id prefer to look like a real human being....
My plan is to start trying to sleep extra early tonight, in hopes I can accumulate enough hours before I drag myself out of bed around 9!

I just looked back at my post from last night. I legit had my babies mixed up. DS is two years old and hasn't breastfed since he removed the boob from his mouth at ten months old and went about his business. The baby I had on 8/17/16 is my little girl DD but I was so out of it I referred to her as DS and all male pronouns. My goodness...

No judgement. On more than one occasion I have snuggled my DS and said "hey little girl..." because I call my DOG "little girl" sometimes. Oops.

DD3 tried to take an entire day's worth of milk in one feed and disprove the claim that BF babies can't overeat. I swear she spit up so much. I was left washing both her preferred swaddles and am now terrified of her inability to know when to stop nursing/my body forcing milk on her. She will not settle. So tired.
Tonight is her first night in the swaddle sleep sack. So far she gave me one decent stretch. Hoping this and the new formula is the magic ticket and we get another good stretch.
Up for feed number one after we went to bed. Too bad the last feed and the time we went to bed was only an hour ago.
We are on a feeding every hour trend tonight too. It had been every three hours, then every two hours for the past couple days, now every hour. Joy! At least he's growing well so I know it is doing something.

Ughhh. DS cluster fed from about 8:30-midnight. He then slept until 2am, but of course I only slept for one of those hours. We swaddled him before I nursed and he fell fast asleep on me, and then the minute DH set him down in the crib he pooped and woke himself up. Now DH is changing him and I bet he'll be wide awake and want to eat more after. My boobs have not gotten a break today and they are killing me.

We have a recent "I'm going to eat ALL THE MILK" phase here too. Huge spit and tough time settling tonight. she woke up at 11:40 (after an hour) and is just now getting to sleep after 3. Settle babies, settle.
I've been trying to avoid looking at my phone during the motn feedings thinking not having the light on would help me fall asleep faster when he's done. Instead I'm dozing off while he's eating. So back to this and shopping... Lol

I was just feeding the baby and for once not looking at my phone or watching TV, and I started thinking about my younger self, like ten years ago when I was pretty sure I didn't want kids. Like how could I have known how satisfying it is to get an uncomfortable, hungry baby into a nice clean dry diaper, wrap them up in a soft blanket and feed them until they are in that blissful milk drunk state? I absolutely love that!!
I did manage to pump about an ounce earlier today too, after messing around with the settings on my pump. It's such a loud pump, though - ugh, I can't imagine myself making it to ten months like I did with DS, I'm already completely annoyed by the process again.

Usually his schedule is very much, well, a schedule. Every 2 hours on the dot. Tonight he went without eating for 4.5 hours (didn't sleep that whole time) and then the next time he only went an hour and 20 minutes. Just bizarre to me since he's normally so on time!
Cluster feeding was fun tonight..said no new mom. Thankfully the LC warned us tonight would be rough. I do think some of the cluster feeds were more a need to comfort than food. If it happens again I'm gonna break out the pacifier again. Also how often do you ladies get burps out of LOs? He won't burp for me but does so in his own and passes enough gas too. He does seem to be maybe have silent reflux though..meaning sounds like he's chocking on his secretions when lying down. Hopefully the pedi will come see us tomorrow and I'll ask them.
