meagpt22 how old is he again? Mine was the worst at burping and refused to burp in any position. At about 3 weeks he started improving and now at 5 weeks he always burps.
When he's done eating, I immediately sit him up and do the hula (H found this on YouTube and it's awesome) and he burps. Then I hold him upright against my chest for 15 minutes. At 10-15 min he lets out another on his own, but only of he's upright.
Sneaking in with a wave at you with hungry lil ones.
I ate ALL the fresh tomatoes yesterday. They were delicious. I am paying for it hardcore. Heartburn city.... bad sleep tonight. At least it looks like SO has slept all night so in theory I can make him get up in the morning and give myself maybe the last stay-in-bed morning of my life. Our default is that I get up almost regardless of circumstance, but you bet I am gonna leverage this gigantic belly in my favor. He better freakin actually feed DD, too. He is so lazy about breakfast for her... it isn't hard to make some toast and cut up half an apple, dear. Hand her a pouch and die -- she is still hungry after that!
So somehow I screwed up and let my DD fall asleep for her nap at 5:30. She slept til after 8. Oops. Gonna be a late night.
The real plus is that I got 2 three hour naps today. Excellent. And I have another doctor appointment in the morning. I imagine we get to finalize baby eviction plans. Part of me wants to beg to just get it over with... but I really don't want baby birthday to be tomorrow. Doc is gone/busy/unavailable Tuesday and Wednesday. Looks like September 1 or 2 is most likely, now.
I feel like I get a lot of good netflixing in in the middle of the night.. I generally watch a whole movie over the course of feedings in the night.. The downside is because of his stuffiness, baby won't eat side lying, so I can't lay down all comfy and pass out while watching the last few days.
I watched Sahara last night... It was surprisingly acceptable!
Pissy face... of course I start having actual contractions at midnight on the ONE DAY I don't want to go into labor. Ugh. I just got my kid to sleep. And I am gonna try for sleep. Maybe things will fizzle out.
Here! Just spent an hour and a half feeding babies and now I am pumping and I can hear one making lots of noise on the monitor. Shoot. I am really bad at getting them into solid sleep before I put them down and then they end up waking up again.
I had to stay up late getting everything ready for DD's birthday today, on top of everything else I normally do. I'm tired. I feel bad because I have so many fun ideas to do for her birthday, like fun breakfasts, and I can't do any of it because I didn't plan ahead. Always next year, I guess.
Now, if baby girl could give me a nice long stretch, that would be great!
I switched DD back to preemie nipples because she's been spitting up. Bottles seem so slow now but she's not a dripping mess anymore so I think it was he right move. She's been leaving 0.5-1oz in the bottles so I think we were over feeding her with the faster nipple
We have still been waking the baby to eat, even in the night. He was sleeping so peacefully and it just felt so wrong!! I'm going to ask the ped about this.... Seems like if he is still gaining weight, we should be able to switch to on demand feeding

theophania ugh sorry your hubs did that. Mine has never gotten up at night because he just gets pissy and isn't helpful so I don't even bother waking him. Hope yours gets better.
Speaking of which... earlier today I asked him to change the diaper before my feeding. DS was totally content but clearly hungry. DH changed him and I was refilling diapers between the bathroom closet and nursery. I walk in as DH jokingly puts the wet wipe on DS's bare stomach which of course makes him cry. DH has the balls to yell at me "what are you doing in the bathroom?! Your son is crying and starving - you can fuck with the diapers later!". I was like fucking excuse me but he wasn't crying until SOMEONE put a wipe on his tummy so don't you dare yell at me.
hannahbear I don't see why you wouldn't do on demand feeding of he's gaining well. They let you know when they're hungry.

spicysalmonrolltheophania here's one for you guys as well. DD is twelve days old tomorrow and my H still hasn't changed one of her diapers. Seriously. He protests that he is charging the majority of the stinker, grosser toddler diapers. I mean, I guess.
frodabaggins , just woke up... fizzled! Just, y'know, achey as hell. Painful contractions are painful. Super troll body and child. Back to bed I go....
Edit: ok, well, maybe not 100% fizzled. Just had a short, less painful contraction while sitting up for tums to settle. Still. Close enough.

Not a great night. I let DD3 do her long stretch early in it while I watched the Royals game with DH. She seems to be settling into the family schedule where nighttime starts around 7 and will do her long stretch closest to that (but no consistent timing on feeds or naps yet). After that I only got 1-1.5 hour stretches. So tired. I was in bed for 5 hours and up 3 times in that window.
My mom emailed yesterday saying she was available to help this week. She sometimes causes more trouble than help unintentionally, but that means she misses the kids. I should take her up on it and get a nap and forget the possible consequences.
My DH upset me last night too, wonder what's up with all the husbands.
My H is an incredibly deep sleeper. His alarm will be blaring next to his head and he doesn't hear it. I hit him today to turn it off (forgot he had surgery, oops. At least I didn't get an incision) but then he was being SO loud. It's like ok dude, I'm glad you don't care if you wake up the baby, but that's less sleep for ME, who has been up all night. Ugh.

I have been binge watching PaR. It's an old favorite
Last night was horrible babies up From 10:30 to 5 off and on. Baby b threw up huge then wouldn't settle all night I got maybe 3 hours of sleep my poor toddler is gonna suffer today as I lay on the couch nursing a migraine as tiny watches Disney junior ?
hannahbear I wouldn't wake up! Get that sleep! Maybe your baby is the unicorn baby who sleep through the night early. Fx!
DD was up a lot with gas pains. I checked her temp and she let out a whole bunch of gas. H woke up and was like why does the room smell like shit. That would be the tiny baby in the corner H lol
