I know not everyone is into randoms, but I also know that you people are out there reading things, and we don't all overlap in checkins (and I'm not into checkins, apparently 😄).
We had dinner at my MIL's house the other night, and my SIL was taking the chicken off the grill and accidentally dumped it all on the ground. 😬 So, ok, that sucks but let's figure out plan B, right? No, she decided the best course was to just pick it up and set it on the table AS IS. It was mind-boggling.

inaya - Yikes! DNW to eat grilled chicken with outside germs. Does that make me high-maintenance?
Long story short, one of the infant care providers at DC put in her two weeks, and is looking for a summer nanny position next year. I'm really interested in having her watch #2 next summer; however, the average pay/hr for a nanny in our area would equal more per month than infant care at a center. And we're not loving our DC like we used to, so I don't really want to send another kid there if I can help it. But I also need to pay my bills. FX this all works out in both our favors!
And work was annoying today. Thank goodness I'm leaving in a few minutes... And we're having breakfast for dinner!

They just finished installing carpet in Cole's room. It seems the closer his room is to completion, the better sleeper he is. I think he is just playing possum. We are moving his little diapered booty to his own room very soon!
DH and I couldn't find a movie last Saturday, so we watched 'get hard' with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, and laughed our asses off. Don't judge.....
I had to bring my dog in for surgery today to get a few bad cysts and tumors removed. They also cleaned his teeth and clipped his nails since he was already under anesthesia anyway. He's like a brand new dog. He'll be stuck in a cone for a couple weeks while he heals with stitches, poor guy. I'm waiting for the kid to wake up so we can go pick him up from the vet. I have special food waiting for him tonight to ease the shittiness of the week for him.
It's so nice out today. Babe and I took a long walk and stopped at the local coffee shop downtown for some breakfast, checked library, watched the birds. On the way back home he fell asleep so I just stopped and sat on a bench, enjoying the breeze. It was fantastic. Now that the weather is getting nicer (not super hot and humid anymore) I want to try to do this once a week. It's about 20 minutes from my house to downtown, so it's perfect to get out of the house for a couple hours. I love that he's a bit older now and can sit and occupy himself in a high chair and whatnot. We can actually go exploring. This, mornings like this, is why I love staying home.

We had family/newborn photos today. The morning was crazy. As I was trying to get stuff ready and DH was busy helping DD3 nap, DD2 got into some essential oil type bug spray I haven't used in years and dumped it all over the floor and herself. We are still trying to get the stench out of our house. Basically I haven't stopped having ridiculous stuff like that happen all day. I ran out of wipes before photos. I somehow didn't get all the shoe polish rubbed off the big girls' sandals and it got onto their carseats. Ugh. At least DD3 slept like an angel throughout pictures! And we had her 2 week check and she is growing well.

This week is the beginning of the end. I work Wednesday and Thursday, then next week Tuesday is when it begins for real and J starts day care. Gah. Don't make me go!
It will get easier, I know. But fuck. It sucks and I don't want to. At least this week he's with MIL Wednesday and my mom Thursday.
DD1 starts kindergarten tomorrow....cue tears for mama I ordered overpriced name stickers off etsy for her supplies that were supposed to be "fast ship" i finally messages the seller and she said they were being sent out Thursday...then I got a shipping notice Monday at 2am....seriously....I messaged her again to convey my disappointment that they won't be here in time for school and haven't heard anything back....if I would have know it then I would have just labeled everything with a sharpie and take it in on open house night....
On a positive note, DD1 is so excited...she set her clothes out days ago and has been marking off a calendar for weeks!
inaya, wow, just wow. I mean if you want to serve it to yourself, that's fine I guess, but serve it to others? So the question is did you eat it?
Lol, sort of. I picked a piece that was nicely covered in skin and carefully peeled it off. And ate only what was in the middle, not the edges. MH refused it entirely.

Heard on the radio today: A study says you should eat chocolate cake for breakfast to keep your body and mind healthy. Heck, yeah! Now, all I can think about is chocolate cake.
