Today was the first day since morning sickness started that I actually wasn't sick! I'm hoping this is not just a fluke because I had MS with DD until 16 weeks, and I'm 16+ weeks and I've been waiting patiently.
In other news- I had big plans to go to the gym, and take DD to the lake this afternoon but she woke up with a weird rash all over her torso and back--so no daycare at the gym, and a pedi appointment this afternoon.

I'm back from vacation! It was wonderful to get away. This summer was extremely tiring and stressful for me, but I feel much less burned out after the break.
I have a few more days off before my new job starts. I need to find temporary housing in the area since our house is still in short sale limbo.
H and I started taking ballroom dancing lessons a little over a year ago. We've been doing the rhythm dances which are faster and bouncier. It hasn't been working well for me lately, so we're switching to the smooth dances, something H wasn't crazy about.
We had our first foxtrot lesson last night and we both loved it! We picked up on everything quickly and were doing four different moves by the end of the night. Score!
I spent the entire morning printing 30+ state tax returns for filing. I feel like I killed half the rainforest.
In lighter news, J wore a dress to school today and was thrilled that we both wore dresses. I told her I loved her dress and she said, "Thanks, Mommy. Oh, your dress is so buffalo (beautiful)!" Sometimes she's too cute!

flyinghorses6 I sincerely hope your morning sickness is coming to an end!
Daycare called and said they think DD has hand foot & mouth. So I picked her up, gave her a snack and now she's down for a nap. Maybe I can squeeze one in, too.
I'm in constant debate with myself about whether to do some house work (painting, scraping wallpaper, patching plaster, etc.) or just letting it go and being a bit of a bum. I've been looking at a to-do list several pages long for a while, so I think I need to get my butt in gear and do stuff but I really don't want to.
And G (dd2) is being super cute and wanting all the tickles today. Her giggles are highly addictive. Who am I kidding? She wins.

I was just bitching about money yesterday, and now all I want to do is get a manicure. Sigh, better heads prevailed.
ls2012 - I hear you. I could have painted trim, like, every night this week, but the couch was calling and I answered. Must. Paint. This. Weekend. At least my mom is coming to watch J so we can get some stuff done.

It sounds like you've already gotten so much done! I'm started to get really curious about the scope of work you have going, only so I can commiserate. Are you renovating an old house, too? If so, you have my utmost sympathies.
- Emptied master closets and resurfaced/patched/painted the walls (all white) - Hung all the closet organizers (what a PITA...) - Peeled wallpaper from one wall (it was painted over with oil based paint - HUGE PITA) - Patched holes
We still need to resurface the one wall, paint all the trim, and paint all the walls. Sigh... Then it's on to moving back in, getting the furniture delivered/assembled, and hanging curtains.
Our house was built in the '50s so it's not an ancient house, but it's 60+ years old so it needs some work. And of course, it's about that time when all the things are going wrong. We replaced the water heater a few months ago, and we have to replace some faucet seals this weekend. Stuff like that...
We do as much as we can ourselves. MH is pretty handy, and I take pretty good direction LOL
ETA: Maybe I'll post a before-and-after of the bedroom. Anyone interested in knowing where I sleep?! LOL

sweetieheart32 my sympathies! HFM is the worst! I hope it's a mild case that passes quickly.
I'm off today, but C is at daycare/pre-k so I am working around the house all day. I'm painting/staining all of the spindles (?) for our deck railing. And while waiting for sets of them to dry I'm cleaning and organizing the house. I also had ambitions of going through C's clothes and putting the ones away that don't fit. And going through my maternity clothes and organizing those. But I don't think I'll get to those last two.
Tonight we are going to Mellow Mushroom for a friend's birthday. I'm pretty excited, I loooove Mellow Mushroom.

oldbaylover1024, please do a before and after when you're done! I love home renos! Especially when I'm not doing one right now Don't worry, we'll be doing one starting this fall. It's too hot in my non-air conditioned house to start right now.
oldbaylover1024 I hear ya on the tax stuff. I don't think you can see the wood on my desk anymore. There's also about 6 trash bags full of shredding next to my desk. It looks like a tornado went off in here. We can have a pretend drink together over the interwebs after October 17!

oldbaylover1024, if the short sale house ever goes through, we'll be the proud owners of a 1950's house in need of some renovation. I love looking at before and after pics, so please post some when you make progress!

I've never heard of Mellow Mushroom, but yum! The food looks awesome! Have fun, monicageller
I'll post some before-and-afters when we're done. Should be soon! I wish we were redoing the carpet, too, but alas... that'll have to wait... until my kids are old enough to not spill (as much) stuff! LOL
notagoddess - Fun! FX it goes through soon! What do you have on the reno list? Major stuff (i.e. new kitchen) or minor/cosmetic (paint, floors, etc.)?

I have a bunch of before and after pics from our projects this year. I honestly think I'm just worn out on reno work. Our house is 1910's, but he previous owner 1960'ed it allllll over. It's been interesting.

Beautiful, ls2012! Did you paint the paneling or fully remove it?
We had dark wood (like two shades darker than that) paneling in our formal dining room (currently J's playroom), and we painted it. Pain. In. The. ASS. But totally worth it.

oldbaylover1024, we completely removed it- it was pulling away and gaping from the plaster walls. Then, of course, we had a ton of plaster to repair. The entire ceiling came down, too, after we found a dangerously crumbling plaster ceiling above the dropped ceiling tiles. Cleaning up plaster demo really sucks. My goodness, I do not envy you the painting of the paneling! We tried in our entryway, and I practically threw the paint rollers at the wall when 3 coats of Kilz primer proved to be ineffective in covering it.
So far this year we've done the living room, entryway, and 4 bedrooms. We still want to get the upstairs hall and stairwell done, and come up with a living room ceiling solution now that the tiles are gone, but I'm wavering. I just don't know if I have it in me.

Thanks, ls2012. We considered tearing it down and putting up drywall, but frankly we wanted to go for the painted panel look - it fits the house, being a '50s era house and all. And we love it!
