AW: I need help understanding this msg from embryologist!

Sorry if I'm hijacking the board today!

So a couple of days ago I sent an e-mail requesting information about our embryos. They finally got back but I'm not sure what to think. I don't understand the quality types. And he's recommending 2 to be transfered instead of only 1.

Help!


"This message is in response to your e-mail to Sarah. You have 2 day-5 and 6 day-6 embryos (frozen at blastocyst stage). The day-5 embryos are 1BB and 2BB. I instructed the lab today to thaw these 2 embryos one day before your FET so that we can check their growth overnight. In my opinion, if these 2 survive, we should transfer both. Two embryos will give you maximum chance of pregnancy. Should you have any questions, Let me know"

Here sweetie, try looking at this www.advancedfertility.com/blastocystimages.htm I found it when I was researching IVF, it shows the embryo grading in a nice chart and explains what the grade means. I hope it helps you!

No advice on embryos...but I hope both your 5-day blasts thaw perfectly and look beautiful for transfer!

Take embryo grading with a grade of salt though, some REs will say if it made it to day 5 or beyond, by definition it is good quality.

Hugs, SweetieShellie! Don't let them push you into transferring 2 if you don't want to. Ultimately it is your decision.
