We did a small grocery trip this morning at the big store, forgot my wallet in the cart but luckily I realized and was back within 15 minutes of leaving so it was still in the cart.
Now DD1 fell asleep going to the other store so I'm just relaxing in the parking lot

Made/received some phone calls this morning. Swear that felt like the first half of the day flew by. Ate some lunch & now Call the Midwife. I have some plans to go through small clothes of DS' at the top shelf of his closet to sell but I may be too lazy today.
We did a Costco run this am and had a coupon for almost everything! Woot, haha. I put it away while DD was napping. I think I'm gonna set up some water play in the kitchen for her while I do the dishes and clean up. We may play a little outside too if we have time and she gets antsy. We have a decent amount of plans this weekend, so that makes me happy. Hope everyone is doing well!
We had his 6 month appt this morning. My little 19.3 lb chunk did well with the shots and fell asleep as soon as we got home. Now just chilling. Might take a walk downtown later.
Oh and apparently the clinic we go to is part of some reading program. From 6 months until they start kindergarten they get a free book with each visit. How neat is that.
So far today, while playing Legos, we have pretended to Trick-or-Treat, go sledding, make snow angels, and go ice skating. Something tells me LO might be ready for Fall and Winter. Lol.

My little guy has been 13.5 lbs for 3 months straight. Edging near 14 pounds now that he's 6.5mo. So frustrating!

Holy chunk! I feel like this is also my future weight wise and I'm not ready! At 3 months she was still shy of 15 lbs, but not by much. My arms need more time to adjust!
Tomorrow or apartment complex is doing ice cream floats in the courtyard as a thing before schools start next week. So I'm pretty excited about that since the weather is supposed to be pretty nice. We might go for a walk after since my clinician will be by around the same time. So glad for 70's instead of 90's. Plus we should get a little rain this weekend. Hopefully it holds off until after my appointment Friday, though.

Random question. Does anyone have recommendations for Halloween books for toddlers? Or just any in general? We go to the library about once a week and usually just grab random ones so I'm always open to suggestions

Are you wanting books regarding a certain aspect? I don't recall the actual content, but I know Clifford has a couple of Halloween editions. There was also a book we read that I think was called "Trick or Treat" that I believe was one that has the reading level number in the corner; it touched a bit on tradtions, customs, and history at a level for short attention spans.

Yeah my back hurts a lot. I don't remember what he was at 3 months, but his 4 month check had him just under 17. He's starting to slow down a bit, thank God. Good luck to you and your back and arms!

No specific aspect. She's going to be 2.5 this year so I think she will get it more so I just wanted to get some books so I can start showing her what's coming up.

It seems like a lot of books have Halloween parties rather than TOT, which I get from a writer's perspective. I think for many kids, preparing them to dress up and be okay with other people dressed up, including some costumes which might be kind of scary, is a good topic to talk about anyway, and costumes are included in either parties or TOT.
Funny story from me trying to explain TOT to LO in a prior year: Me: When you see the person, you say "trick or treat." Can you say "trick or treat?" LO: Treat! Me: Trick. or. treat. LO: Treat! Me: ::laughing:: Sorry. I wasn't asking you to pick one. You say the whole thing to the people.
Hey all! The electrician did his thing yesterday. We ordered a dishwasher from Sears and pick it up Friday. I have to call the plumber to set up a time for him to do his thing. DD was up for 3 hours from 3-6 then woke up for the day at 9. I'm tired. We're going to the Library and at some point Wal-mart.
tkford216, That's awesome that your pediatrician gives books to kids.
This morning DD has been formally introducing me to her favorite stuffed animals. I had to shake their paws and everything....I have no idea where she picked that up. She's also becoming a ham...she's been doing tricks ( like tumbling or jumping) and she'll say Ta-da and give a bow.
younglove316 I just saw this at our library. Too bad you don't live by me.
This looks adorable! I will have to see if our library has it. forevermorgan thank you for the suggestions! There's an entire row of holiday books in our kids section that I've never seen before, oops. There was plenty of Halloween too so I think I'll just get a couple each week. Good luck with subbing!
We've been over-emphasizing manners recently, I think. Saying hello and goodbye to classmates and teachers at karate, please, thank you and excuse me....
Well, my spirited child (4yo DS) says hi to the dad of karate classmate last night. Dad doesn't reciporicate (didn't hear him or ignored him). DS says hi 2x more without dad acknowledging it. He proceeds to huff, and very loudly says,"EXCUSE ME! I said hi to you! You need to say hi back!!"
Still not sure I should have been embaressed or proud of him...
younglove316 I've seen the where's baby's belly button brand books have a Halloween one I've been meaning to check out. penguin129 I wanna check that book out! DD loves their general 5 little monkeys book. Very cute @auri! LOL mrsmuq about the manners. We've had two good days in a row which I feel like is a miracle. Today we had a playdate visit with friends. Then after nap. I had DD help me with different parts of making banana bran muffins. I have a hard time letting go of control and allowing messes, but I knew she would be a disaster if I just tried to just get it down quickly myself. And it all worked out. Plus she ate three! Hope the bran was a good amount to keep things "moving."
