O is a year but has hypotonia and is globally delayed. A family member works with a group that raises funds to get kids things or help with bills. I'm supposed to give her a list today but I don't know what to put on it. I was going to put the firefly GoTo seat and I'm looking for like a cocoon or hammock type indoor swing, do these exist for kids this young? I know the strength issue is a thing. I know this is short notice to ask for help. It's hard to tell now what we may need bc I keep expecting him to grow out of it. Anyone who has been here have advice? Or maybe looking back is there something you wish you had had for your child?

I for got to mansion the he was using the sure step braces for a few months. But for those you need to be referred to the orthopedic. Ask his PT if they think he may need something similar and to his Peditrician as well.

I was actually just wondering about this- if he gets braces they should be 100% covered. But at what point to they need them? He's only rolls over one way, he's not crawling or standing or anything so I know he isn't there yet. Is it to straighten joints or for support? So like after he's walking?

He start it to used them when he was stating to walk and his PT notice the his ankle was very week as well was the reason he was keep on not having enough strength to support his body. After a few weeks he was able to support his body and able to walk more stable.

Our PTs evaluated for braces after she was standing and cruising really well to make sure that it wasn't ankle instability that was keeping her from walking.
Almost the same here - only it was ankle instability that was keeping Pip from standing - but the PT was monitoring it long before she brought in the guy that does the orthodics.
