We're actually breaking it down into a bunch of birthdays because of the timing of our move. We're doing a Guess How Much I Love You with gold and turquoise decor, themed party at my moms on Oct 15th with pretty much her baptism crowd (20-ish people). Then the 29th right before we leave, we will get together with our good friends from here including her god parents (about 4 other couples total) for a little goodbye party plus cupcakes for her. Then I imagine our ILs will want to have something on her actual birthday once we're down there, but that will just be the family and I'll just recycle stuff from the first party so same theme.
We had Allie's birthday on Friday and party on Saturday. I can't believe my baby is one. We did "twinkle teinkle little star" as the theme. We had 16 kids, so we lucked out with a gorgeous day where we could have guests inside and outside.

mandie, I feel the same way. I just can't believe he's going to be one in just days! Saturday we're having a bbq at my parent's house. We're having a construction-themed party since he's obsessed with large trucks. I ordered a personalized banner, made a chalkboard sign and plastic construction hats for all. lol. Oh and we're getting a cake with his face on it. FX the weather holds up b/c I don't know if I can fit all these people in my parent's house!

I hope you have a good birthday week. Last week was hard, putting me back in the days in the hospital and just the way everything went down and the way she came into this world. Extra hugs to you this week.

We're having C's party on his actually bday, 11.06, since it's a Sunday. We're just having family so it'll be very traditional- food, prezzies, cake smash. His invitations just arrived last week so my goal is to have them addressed and in the mail by the end of next week. He is my little fox, so I'm doing a fox theme.

We are going to have her party on her birthday, 11.13 and the plan has been to do a jungle theme but I'm having a hard time finding enough girly stuff. I also want to do a monkey theme so I may just end up doing some stuff myself. I already bought a bunch of stuff on clearance so we will see. I rented a small hall by us because it's super cheap and then I don't have to worry about people at my house and all the cleaning.

We are going to do a monkey theme because she's our little monkey, climbing on all the things! I'm thinking 11/20 (Sunday) before her B-Day to give us time to prep the day before.

We are doing ours on 10-22 because on her actual day 11-6 we will be on vacation. We are doing a theme of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We got her a little onesie that says "I have the Golden Ticket" with a pink and gold tutu lol
We already celebrated with a party earlier this month. My H will be gone for awhile and will miss Z's birthday. I just decorated with blues/greens, no real theme. I couldn't find one I loved. His birthday is 10/30, so the weekend of it we've got a fall festival and a glow run to attend. And the day of I'll do something fun with just him and I to make it special.
JUST sent out invites, a little late- oops! We're going with a pumpkin theme. Backyard party with a tent & heaters in case its cold, chili bar, pumpkin shaped cake. Bonfire after the babies go to bed to celebrate us parents making it to a year!

How much notice should you give for a kid's bday party? I'm probably just going to send an evite because I don't see myself ordering invites.
ETA: I really like this plan. We're just getting a taco guy because mama don't cook 😜

My goal is to get them out in about 2 weeks, hopefully arriving around a month before the party. I think 2-4 weeks is ok, depending on if you have an early RSVP

I think it's supposed to be 4 weeks? We got them out like 3w and 5 days... We have out of town guests and never sent birth announcements or anything, so we figured we'd do it right for once. I also did a FB invite for my friends because I wanted to be able to give more details as it gets closer

I did it a like 10pm the night before. By my standards, you've got time I did it out of tissue paper and was quite pleased with how it turned out. I found the directions on pinterest and went with it because it was cheaper than using ribbon.

I love the chili bar idea and the bonfire to celebrate making it to a year. I have been thinking of my LOs party as just that!

We figure it's cheap, we can cook the day before and then throw it in crockpots and not stress over how/when to serve food. We're making a chicken, vegan, and a traditional chili and then just putting out cheese, onions, sour cream, a couple different breads, tortilla chips, etc.
My sister is going to make pumpkin shaped smash cakes for them. I'm really excited!

Last Thursday my baby turned 1! Saturday was his party - it was construction themed but I only have this one pic so far. Hopefully people will start sending me the pics they took.

Btw, thanks for the extra hugs - I needed them. While we were so happy and excited to celebrate his bday, re-living those first couple of weeks in the NICU were hard.
