Also up every 2 hrs here. I had coffee and now I'm onto Dr Pepper.
DD1 has wanted to be Elsa for Halloween forever. I hate Frozen so much but it was obviously very important to her so I bought her the stupid costume. I should've read reviews- it is awful. It's shedding glitter all over my house so it was banned to the outside (which caused tears) but she wants to put it on 12 times a day and has zero self control so now there's glitter all over the PnP. It's also so cheap and I know it'll be ripped to shreds in just a few days. So either she'll be heartbroken or I'll have to buy another one. Im trying so hard to do some special things for her and they turn out to be worse than if I'd done nothing.

If it rips pm me your address and I'll send you DD1's frozen fever costume from last year. She was normal Elsa the year before and insisted that Frozen Fever Elsa was different (plus wore fairy wings so she was FAIRY Elsa). It's held up really well.

The girls slept great but all our big blankets needed washed after a pee incident so I was stuck with a small back up one last night and it was chilly and I couldn't get comfortable.
So now that the laundry is done we are having a pajama party in prep for naps!
That's exciting!! I'm thinking of a ring sling because I would like to hip carry when B is older. But I have a standard Tula, a toddler Tula, and a k'tan. Oh and I borrowed my friends Moby. H might start giving me the side eye if I buy another carrier!

I might eventually get a Tula and use that for quick carries. Finn just loves being wrapped snuggly. In a carrier I think she'd try to look around and stay away when cranky. The Moby is getting a bit stretched since they are 21lbs combined. I bought a size 7 carisling so I can try some tandems. Once I go to a BWI meeting and try other I might get more, especially used. I love my Moby so I know I'll love this. $210 but it's also my early bday present.

I can see myself being the crazy wrapping lady with a huge stash. But I don't really buy things for myself so I justify it that way.
Eta: It's so funny because I used to view moms with carriers as silly helicopter parents and always was adamant about making DD1 do as much time away from me as possible. Looking back I wish I had known more about baby wearing and could have wrapped her when she had her milk intolerance issues as a baby. We would have both been much happier.

I have 5 carriers... It's an addiction. Although, to be fair, I will be selling my Moby after this LO then I will only have 4 carriers.

Sending coffee to all the tired mamas!
My Thursday confession would be that I've never seen Frozen nor heard the song "Let It Go". At this point I'm going to see if I can get through the rest of my life without seeing it.
We are extending the long weekend and heading up to the cottage tonight, so I dropped DH off at work this morning so we can pick him up when he's done and hit the road faster. When we got there he's like "let's show everyone the baby!". I was unshowered, wearing leggings and no makeup. Hopefully I played up the tired mom bit well enough for people to ignore my messy state!

I'm mailing my Moby to my sister who is going to start watching a newborn and was asking for tips. I love that most people who BW are so accepting and helpful and I want to keep that going.
I want a woven, but am scared. I have a ring sling and haven't used it because I have trouble adjusting it... So I'm worried a woven will just collect dust.

I feel like I'm wearing wrong. I have a Tula with insert and he fits just fine, but his upper body wiggles so much when I walk, I worry about his neck. But if I tighten it, I worry I'm crushing his lower half. Maybe I'm overthinking it?

mugster and madamewaffles do you have BabyWearing International groups near you? Meet ups are free and they can help you get adjusted and find the perfect carriers.

I do, but I couldn't make the August meeting... Maybe September will work better

I feel you. We have two a month here. One on the first Saturday and one on a random weekday. I always work the first weekend and have been scheduled during the others but I'm hopeful for next month.
L seemed to be ok with the k'tan on the first day I used it, but since then he screams and screams and tries to escape every time I try. I don't know if it's a me problem or if he just hates being carried. So frustrating.
He's also being a little weirdo today. He's napping now but all morning he kept drinking like half an ounce, pulling off the bottle and then rooting around and wiggling for another half hour or 45 min, so I would try the bottle again and he'd drink for a couple min, and repeat. I thought maybe he was done with the preemie nipples (he wasn't a preemie but the slower flow helped him and his spitting up) so I tried going to size 1 but that didn't change his behavior. Wtf dude.

I had 5 carriers at one point. Down to 3 bc I sold the ring sling (never felt comfortable with it) and gave the moby to a friend (no way could i figure it out esp when I love my Ktan and they are very similar). Carriers are so addicting!
littlesthobo, I'm another one who hasn't seen Frozen. No real desire either. This is sexist, but since I have 2 boys, I don't really see a Frozen obsession in my future. Yay!

Ha ha me too! And I'll also confess I feel the same way about dance... People I know with girls spend hours and hours at dance competitions and recitals... I'm just not into it and am hoping to dodge that bullet! Although knowing my luck and DH, you'll probably find me spending all those hours at the hockey rink instead...

Maybe you'll avoid it through lack of exposure, but once DS saw it with DD and cousins he loved it almost more than them. The opening song with the ice cutters was on repeat most days, as he sang and stomped along.

I have an ergo, a Tula, a ringsling, and a ktan, and I just got a new linen ringsling because my other is double layer and kind of a pain. Love the new linen one!

SSC like the Tula should be snug around babies body. You probably are overthinking it to some extent. Just make sure he is nice and snug in there he shouldn't be wobbling too much and some pressure on their body is fine. I think of it like he is being swaddled between me and the carrier.

You can tighten just the top a bit, using the adjustment on the straps in the front.
It kind of scrunches the fabric a bit, making it a little snugger.

I never wore DD, and also was more hands off. I think this was due to PPD/PPA..I had a really hard time connecting with/feeling attached to her at all. That's changed now of course, but I didn't realize how unattached I felt towards her until I saw how attached I am to E. Makes me feel shitty, like she got robbed of an experience that he's getting, if that makes sense? Right now I only have a Boba wrap but I want a Tula & probably a woven. I've seen some pretty ones but only one that made my heart sing enough to justify the cost. I just happen to be broke with this maternity leave.
We're at the pedi now. E's been having mucusy poops for a few weeks but last night had blood + mucus so the nurse said bring him in. It could be nothing or could be something so we'll see!
