I have already moved DD to a convertible. I'm a Britax mama so she is in a Boulevard in my SUV. I used a Marathon for DS and just moved him to a high back harness booster (Pioneer) so his old Marathon was thoroughly cleaned and put in H's truck for DD.
Britax for life!! We are also already in a rear-facing Britax convertible car seat. I bought the pink cheetah print one - not sure what the style name is. Grr baby grr!

We have a Britax marathon for dd1. We just got a brand new convertible car seat for free from that Volkswagen commercial my H worked on last week. It was used in a few shots one day, but since they can't return it, we got it! It's a Safety1st, and we haven't installed it yet, but I figure it's free, so we will try it out. If we hate it we'll probably buy a new seat and keep that as a back up.
We really need to get her switched over. She is over 22 lbs, so lugging the infant seat around is very lame at this point.

This is great everyone! Thank you!!! Doing research on the britax car seats now. Also came across Clek and am reading good things.
scorpioscuba you are on the ball girl! Have never owned britax anything but have heard such great things. Their double stroller looks amazing though I think I'm getting a bit ahead of myself
NellieOleson that is awesome! Car seat for free? Yes please! If you guys don't like it, sell it!

I have heard good things about the Clek but also that it can be VERY challenging to install correctly. With the Britax Clicktight models, it is super simple!
We have a Peg Perego convertible. No idea about when to switch though. E is still fairly tiny (17.5 lbs at 7 mo) so fits in infant still (we have Cybex Aton 3).

I got the same one in Harlequin, also on Prime Day, 14joa31!
The main difference between the Marathon and the Boulevard is the side impact protection. I have and use Marathons but decided to go up a step this time. I have side impact airbags but DD is in the middle of the SUV so I didn't think those would be of any benefit to her.
I have a britax (can't remember which one, sorry) I def like it for safety, good ratings etc. But one pet peeve is that the buckles always seem to get stuck under my DS when I try to buckle him in. I'm sure this could happen with any car seat, but it's annoying sometimes how long it takes me to get them out from under him and adjusted. Also the click tight strap is great in theory but I always need to tighten it up more than when I hear the click.

We have the Evenflo Symphony DLX for DD1. It's huge. Rear facing it doesn't fit between the front seats. We have 2 so we will switch the one from DH truck to me car when we switch.
Ugh. Don't remind me. We need at least 2, possibly 3 car seats when we give up the bucket. And it's going to be soon. She's got about 5 inches to go, and 10 lbs. We need one for H's car, and one for my mom's for sure. Possibly one for me, if I get a car.
That being said, I'm not picky. They all have the same requirements, so I just grab one that I like that isn't ridiculously expensive, that is at least able to go forward facing. We went through 3 car seats with S after the bucket. We had 2 car accidents (one right after we switched), and the second was after we already had him forward facing, so we just bought a 3 in 1 seat, that he's still using. I'm hoping we won't have the same problem with M.

J is almost 18 lbs so we have some time left in the bucket seat. He's in a Chicco Keyfit and I think we will be getting the Chicco Nextfit Zip Air. Right now I just leave the bucket seat in the car.
My main reason for the the Chicco is the cover zips up to wash it. I've had to take his infant seat apart twice and wrestling that thing back on was not fun.
We will get 2 eventually, but that really won't be an issue until the summer. H can't do any drop offs or pick ups during the school year. I'm also sure my parents will end up getting one for their car at some point.

Like for the 3 in 1 - not the accidents! How scary

Neither of them were H's fault. It was ridiculous. The first one we were stopped at a red light for a solid minute, and this dumb chick hit us from behind going about 60 km/h, didn't even slow down, I'm pretty sure she was texting. Then we had only had the car back from that for a couple of months when we hit a deer on the way home from H's parent's house. That was fun. It was November, S was just over a year old, and it was freezing. H has harboured a resentment toward deer ever since lol.

14joa31 No! It only came in the black from B r Us. They told me to contact britax directly. I am tempted to do it but H might kill me
Lollipop man, that's crazy. Getting hit from behind at that speed is SO dangerous.. And hitting a deer is too esp if they come through the windshield! I'm glad everyone was okay! So, did you have to replace the car seats both times?

Yup. It got expensive. Luckily, after the deer we haven't had a problem and S has been in the same seat since.
