Milestones: blowing raspberries. So freaking cute. He makes this Bzzz sounds until his lips cooperate. I'm in love.
Challenges: The Tooth That Refuses to Come. Why does God hate me? I swear he cutting multiple. They are just sitting there. Refusing to do anything, but make him cry all. Day. Long. We have tried all the things for relief. Oh, did I mention we are in a leap too? We are just full of happy times over here. Sigh*
Cute/Funny Stories: We have a song that I have sang to him since the day he was born. It's Can't Help Falling in Love. Every time I sing it, nowe matter how bad he screaming, he stops and a sweet smile comes across his face. Heart. Melted.
How are you? I'm worn out. It's exhausting dealing with a Screaming infant That refuses all the things. I'm having a hard time dealing with H. He doesn't really amend his schedule top accommodate an infant. It's super frustrating that I have top plan with him to watch our kid, instead of just leaving him.
QOTW: I don't care that it's going to be 89 degrees again today. I'm in fall mode. What's your favorite fall food/drink? My favorite drink is mulled wine. I love that stuff.

Age: 4 weeks tomorrow
Milestones: nothing big. She's tracking with her eyes pretty well. Oh, and has gone 6 hours between feeds at night, but who knows if that'll keep up.
Challenges: she fell on Friday. DH was trying to hold her and DD2 in his lap. DD2 fell; DH reached for her instinctively. DD3 slid down his lap and hit the floor. 3TM me panicked and called 911. Yup. She seems quite fine. I'm still not. DH felt awful.
Also she can roll onto her side in her swaddle but can't sleep without it. DNW her to flop onto her stomach. Feel stuck.
Cute/Funny Stories: she fell asleep doing tummy time yesterday. DH looks at her, laughs, and says, "She's gaming tummy time!"
How are you? Other than still petrified about my baby, pretty good.
QOTW: I don't care that it's going to be 89 degrees again today. I'm in fall mode. What's your favorite fall food/drink? Is it made with real pumpkin? Then, as DD2 would shout, "I love it!"
Hi ladies, Joining this check in as DS was born Aug 26. He is my second rainbow, I also have a DD who's 22 months old. Age: 11 days old
Milestones: Being born
Challenges: Just normal newborn challenges..figuring him out and his cues.
Cute/Funny Stories: He's rather boring as he only sleeps, eats, poops/pees. But yesterday I asked his sister if she'd want to hold him. Watching her face light up and her smile while she held him was the best. I can't wait to watch him interact with her as they grow up.
How are you? Tired.
QOTW: I don't care that it's going to be 89 degrees again today. I'm in fall mode. What's your favorite fall food/drink?
As long as we are all okay with the job being to get it posted weekly and not to also respond to each post, I can take over. But I may post on Mondays instead, if nobody cares. All the days blend together for me (SAHM life, lol). Is this okay?
Milestones: Nothing huge - feedings seem to be more on a consistent timeline (every 2.5-3hrs vs being all over the place early on).
Challenges: Typical newborn stuff
Cute/Funny Stories: She's hilarious when she's got a wet vs a dirty diaper. She HATES having a wet diaper - she'll scream and wail like she's being stabbed. Now if it's a dirty diaper, she'll be wide eyed (I'm guessing while she's going) then she'll smile. It's the cutest, stinkiest thing ever!
How are you? Doing ok - definitely no longer emotional like I was shortly after we were discharged. We are also no longer exhausted/tired b/c we started sleeping in shifts shortly before she turned 2 weeks. If anyone is doing combo feeding like we are (b/w breast & bottle) or just bottle feeding, I highly recommend shift sleep. It makes dealing with her newborn-ness a lot more tolerable. MH & I both noticed that we don't mind dealing w/ her screaming & wailing when we feel rested. MH was super frustrated and grumpy before we started sleeping in shifts. So glad it works for us b/c he's more of a night owl and I'm more of an early bird.
QOTW: I don't care that it's going to be 89 degrees again today. I'm in fall mode. What's your favorite fall food/drink? I'm so in Fall mode too! I know a lot of people may be over pumpkin spice - but that screams Fall to me! Love pumpkin spice everything
Milestones: He leans over to see things out of his line of sight (the start of object permanence?). It's adorable and I love it. Otherwise, same ol' bag of tricks.
Challenges: There were a couple days I swore he was teething. Cranky, inconsolable, wanting all the cold teethers. But, there's no sign of a tooth and now he's totally fine. So I have no idea.
Cute/Funny Stories: I've been tossing treats to the dog while the baby watches for some time now, but usually can only get a smile or small chuckle. We now have full blown deep belly laughs. It makes my day. The dog is going to get fat.
How are you? I'm good. Nothing out of the ordinary.
QOTW: I'm not big into pumpkin (gasp!) or apple cinnamon or any of those things. I guess the only thing "different" I'm looking forward to is hot chocolate once it gets colder. I drink hot chocolate almost daily once the cold weather hits.

Age: 5 1/2 months!
Milestones: Oh my goodness. He's hit a few in the past couple of weeks. Tooth #2 popped through this past weekend, he figured out how to "scoot" backwards when he's on his back, he found his toes when he's laying down, started daycare last week, and started eating veggies. Whew!
Challenges: I'm back to work now, which is...not what I want to be doing. The first drop-off sucked of course, and today was another hard one. I'm having a hard time balancing work/life, and am anxious about how I'm going to handle everything when my 2 grad classes start next week. My hope is that it will get easier once we get more used to this, and figure out a better routine/schedule for the evenings.
Cute/Funny Stories: I wound up with a bra full of spit-up last week. He had his oatmeal, then drank about 7 ounces before bed (the norm is 4-5). Went to burp him, and he spewed EVERYTHING he ate, and most of it went down my tank top and cami bra thing. I had to carefully walk to the bathroom to pour it out before I could take the shirts off and clean myself up.
How are you? Stressed. Struggling. Counting down to Thanksgiving. Tired. Trying to be optimistic.
QOTW: I don't care that it's going to be 89 degrees again today. I'm in fall mode. What's your favorite fall food/drink? I love apple cider and pumpkin bread/muffins.
I'm not sure how much I'll be able to be around in the next couple of weeks/months. I'll be doing my best to hop on and see how everyone is and check in myself.

Age: 6 weeks
Milestones: tracking with his eyes more and smiling more.
Challenges: gas and pooping have been a bit difficult for S lately.
Cute/Funny Stories: he smiles at me and it melts my heart. He has also smiked at big brother yesterday and it was so cute.
How are you? Doing ok, I love cuddling S. H and I have some issues at night. It's mostly just due to H's snoring. H changes S's diaper then gives him to me to BF and H goes right back to sleep and starts snoring so freaking loud. After I put S back down I tell H to roll over so he stops snoring long enough for me to fall asleep and he gets pissed off that I woke him up. QOTW: I don't care that it's going to be 89 degrees again today. I'm in fall mode. What's your favorite fall food/drink?
I love soup. I also love pumpkin spice lattes, apple pies, and apple everything. I am pretty bummed that pumpkin pie will be out for me this year due to being egg and dairy free but it's only one year...
readinglove it doesn't get easier exactly, but does become the new normal (re: back to work). Finding a good routine for evenings help. Figuring that out took about a week. Some nights were still stressful, but overall it helped.
Milestones: Really loves sucking on her fists and really starting to talk more. Also she started daycare this week.
Challenges: Tummy time and car rides. She hates them both so much. We are taking an 8 hour road trip tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Cute/Funny Stories: She has been in daycare for 3 days. I dropped her off this morning and as soon as the teacher took her and started talking to her she got this huge smile on her face (she is very serious all the time). My first thought is little shit but I'm also happy she likes her teacher.
How are you? Good. Loved being back at work but working on juggling everything. Work full time - turnaround time at work. H works full time and just started going to school full time. Yep we are crazy.
QOTW: Chili!!!!
tkford216 - Thank you!!! My life has been turned upside down since going back to work. Let me know if you ever need me to be a backup though

Sorry my posts are kind of sporadic but I'm trying to be better!
Age: 9 weeks
Milestones: She's finally settling into her bedtime routine and bedtime. This is great news because I was struggling hard with our routine starting at 6:30pm with DD1, and still fighting to get DD2 to sleep and stay asleep 3hrs later…
Challenges: Trying to balance my time with both girls and remember all those things I need to do when my focus is split. D drops, tummy time, poor H is really suffering second child syndrome already.
Cute/Funny stories: This girl has the most amazing RBF it is hilarious. People are constantly baby talking her and trying to get her to smile and it's nothing but crickets. I laugh so hard now when I see somebody trying.
How are you? Good and bad. Feeling blessed with two awesome little girls, but also feeling that both of them are getting shorted what they need because in busy with the other.
QOTW: I love everything fall. Apples and pumpkin everything!
gratefulgirl DD2 was also rolling in her swaddle for a short period of time. Now it would appear the novelty has worn off, but we are counting down (2.5 weeks!) until Merlin can make his magical return and I can stop worrying.
megrae12 DH is similar that he just wasn't a lot of help when DD1 was little. Now she's 19 months he's much more involved with her and they are great together. He was just uncomfortable with her for the longest time.
taberbtb I hear you on feeling like both kids get shorted. I then feel guilty whenever DS is in his swing when I'm trying to do house stuff. He already gets head so much less than DD, so I'm constantly checking for a flat spot. No one warned me how much mommy guilt you can have when adding a 2nd into the mix!
