Whelp, appointment today didn't go as I would have liked. HCG is up to 27,000 from 10,600 on Thursday. Nurse said not to expect doubling at this level, so that looks good. Only 1 sac, so that's awesome. But at 6w2d and she couldn't find fetal pole or heartbeat. She seemed surprised, but not worried. At one point she said, "that might be the start of it", but never settled on saying it was. Apparently implantation happened super high up so the ultrasound was actually quite painful and it seemed like she was struggling to get a good view. On my stomach the view was clearer, but still just gestational sac and yolk sac.
The Internet seems to think it should all be visible, but lots of anecdotes of people in the same situation and it turns out fine. I spent most of the morning googling even though I know I shouldn't!! She said the other machine in the office is better, so we can use that next week and we should definitely see a heartbeat at that appointment. Not sure what to think. 😕
It seems like 6w2d is still kind of early that it might still be in the realm of normal to not see much yet. I'm holding on to hope for you. FX your next appointment goes perfectly
I know it's easier said than done, but try not to get too worked up googling too much. I'm also of the opinion it's still early. Happy thoughts and good vibes for a better appointment next week.

That seems pretty early. My RE wouldn't see me for an ultrasound until at least 7 weeks. A lot can happen between now and 7-8 weeks. Try to stay off of google and keep positive.
I'm sorry you are in limbo. I hope you get positive news next week. 6 weeks is still pretty early to do a scan. Try to stay off google, if you can. Hugs
At this early stage it is SO much more likely that they aren't actually going to have the right date because even half a day can make such a big difference in what you see and they do grow at somewhat different rates.
I know my 6 week scan freaked me right the heck out because the little guy was measuring 3 days behind but at the 7 week scan we were all caught up with a great heartbeat.

Thanks guys. Yesterday was tough and today I'm just thinking there's nothing I can do either way, so I'll just try not to think about it as much as possible. It just sucks so much because I've been using donor sperm and seeing and RE and finally BFP and now this. This was my last go of things, so if I'm out this time, I'm out for good. Really only time will tell, but waiting is the worst. I'll check back in with you all next week.

Don't give up hope yet. I had something similar happen with my last pregnancy (no heartbeat at 6weeks, hard to get a good image on US) and DS is now a crazy energetic 3.5 year old.
I'll be crossing all of my fingers and toes that your next US shows good news!

Hi girls! I had my appointment this morning. Seems that I can be added to the 1000s of online anecdotes of 6w being too early. Baby is looking great!! Lmp puts me at 7w3d baby is measuring 7w1d and HR is 141😊 it was a REALLY stressful week. I'm so glad it's over. Nurse said there was actually another sac behind too that actually didn't develop into anything, that measured 4w. I'm actually way happier with 1, but that likely explains why my betas we so high.
Thank you guys for all the positive thoughts and prayers😘
