Calling all convertible car seat buyers!! (Esp. Graco)

We are getting ready to purchase a convertible car seat. I am 99% sure we are going with the Graco 4Ever, so now I am price comparing. Did anyone get theirs for a discount? BuyBuyBaby has it and if the 20% coupon will apply, then it will be $239, down from $299 regular. Is this likely the best deal I'll find?

Do you have a Burlington Coat Factory or BabiesRUs? BuyBuyBaby is maybe the same thing-but Burlington has great deals on car seats. Babies R US also has rewards so you could buy a bunch of other stuff you need and then get their cash back to apply towards the seat.

We used the 20% off at BBB and got ours for $239. It was the best deal I could find on that seat.

ETA: I ordered ours online because we weren't in a rush and got free shipping (plus the 20% off I had at the time was online only).  It arrived in less than a week.

The BuyBuyBaby would be online, not in-store. The Burlington and BRU are both 1.5 hours away, but I will be in that city this weekend. I am about to look online.

For the BRU rewards, would that have to be on a BRU credit card? Or, are the rewards kind of like Carter's rewards?

Amazon sells for it for $299, so that sounds like a good deal for me.

thatgirlrachel, no it's just a rewards program like Kohls. It's based on what you spend in the store. Don't need a credit card. It's actually nice to be a rewards member with Babies R US because they email you receipts too. I think you get $5 for every $100 or something like that. I am not signed up for Carters rewards...this feels like something I need to do ASAP

Girl, yes you do! I don't shop at BRU enough to add up rewards, but Carter's is a whole nother story. I believe it is $10 off for every $75 spent, and with the free shipping sales and 20-25% off sales, you can get a lot of bang for your buck with the rewards.

We bought F's 4ever at the end of Sept last year. It was a prime deal for $199! I haven't seen it that low again, but I could've missed it. We got R's during the trade in so it was 20% off.

Thanks! I was worried the 20% wouldn't apply to that carseat, because $60 off sounded too good to be true.

I totally recommend switching.  It is so nice.  I actually really hate the infant seats/carriers though.  It was convenient to click and go when it was colder out but that thing got way too heavy.  I think M is much happier in the bigger seat as well.

We also got ours for $239 online. geners, I agree with RoLoMa and highly recommend switching. It's so much easier than the infant carrier. We switched about a month ago and A loves it, as do I.

You just leave it in the car.  It is about the same as taking the base of the infant carrier in and out.  We found it a little more difficult to get tight because of the shape.  My H could do the infant base himself but I had to help with the convertible.  We are going to buy a 2nd cheap convertible (probably the Cosco from Walmart would be my guess) for traveling and for the car seat in H's car.  You wouldn't want to shuffle the convertible between two cars all of the time.

Unless you plan to use it ASAP I'd wait for the holiday sales. IMO it is not that uncommon to come across a 20% coupon.

I am not expecting to get this lucky again, I bought a $400 Britax car seat for $200. Babies R Us had it mismarked with a sign for 20% off. Then I signed up for Babies R Us card for an additional 20% off. The cashier let me use a 10% off coupon I received in the mail.

I have two of them! I price shopped a while and bought through Prime. Got two off patterns so got one for 199 and the other for 210. Need to get a seat for my mom's car so just watching the pricing. Amazon had the best pricing I found. BBB has the discount but their normal price is so marked up it doesn't off set it as much.

There is also a carseat blog on Facebook that if you join will update in your feed with daily price specials. So I just stay attuned to it.

I've got to make an appointment with the local car seat tech to get ours put in. The only time I'm glad we're still with the bucket is when LO falls asleep in the car and I don't have to wake her when we get home

I wish I would have seen this when we installed the convertible!  But it is great to know because I was super worried about installing one in the cab when we go to Texas later this month.  It is just going to be my mom and I and I wasn't sure we could do it!

It really makes it so much easier! I can get a tight install with the 4evers without any help doing it that way.
