The pill and the period

Okay this is probably going to be tmi but oh well. I started my period (a year after having W. ) in Janurary. It lasted longer than usual, about a week... But since it was the first one in a year I figured it would. Then it went away for a week and came back heavier and for about a week as well. Then it was gone for about a week and now it is back again. I am on the pill with low hormones, for nursing. Did anyone else have this problem? I know I need to go to the doctor since I haven't had a pap in like 5 years but it's too late to call the doctor tonight. So any I've been there would be helpful. Thanks.

Yes, this happened to me. I finally ended up having to go on the pill (regular pill) but I waited to do that until I stopped nursing. I ended up switching pills a few times because of my own issues with them (not bleeding related) and then finally decided after about a year that the pill in general just isn't right for me. But just being on the pill for a bit seemed to regulate things better even though I still had break-though bleeding throughout the month once I stopped. This continued for about 4 months and then I got pregnant again so that's all I've got. I truly believe that the pill did help the crazy random bleeding I was having but didn't full stop the break-through bleeding that returned once I went off the pill.

That probably doesn't help you at all...I'm sorry But I've been there

I want to say that I didn't get a period at all when I was on the minipill...... but I am having a hard time remembering now! Did you start the pill during/after that first period? It might just be your body adjusting. Definitely worth a call to the doc.

cookiesandwine,I've been on the pill for a year now...I've missed a pill here and there but have been on it since last February which makes it more frustrating.
