Achievements: My trial run of the trickier section of LO's birthday cake turned out just as I had hoped. And in a little bit, my reward will be eating it. Granted, I would be eating it even if the trial run was a flop. LO told MH's friend, "Nice to meet you," unprompted.
Challenges: The kitchen faucet broke. Of course I have a bunch of extra dishes to do from aforementioned cake decorating. Of course I warned the landlord months ago it was starting to go, but he opted to "fix" it (which didn't fix it) rather than replace right away (which would prevent water damage). Now I have to have someone come over again, who knows how long from now, to do something I could have done myself in 10 minutes. Grr! I have always been a homeowner, and renting sucks. I wish we could just find a house already.
Plans: Nothing outside the usual.
Me: Good aside from allergic reaction at lunch. Questions/vents: Nope.
GTKY: While I enjoy a few, I'm not an avid follower of any.

Achievement: my baby is a walker! After being mostly cautious the last 2 days he's walking a lot and falling a little.
Challenges: DD was an absolute bear during DS's party. She tends to struggle with groups and dealing with too much attention or any criticism. Le sigh.
Plans: tomorrow is DS's birthday so we are going to Chuck E Cheese. He's very excited! The usual with school, gymnastics, and soccer. Some play dates and a few Doctor appts.
I'm so tired!! I don't know why but I've been so worn out all day. Hoping for an easy week!
No vents or Qs.
Gtky- I can't think of any. I don't watch a lot of regular tv just stuff on Netflix. The only show that I watch as its on usually is Game of Thrones and that's in the spring.

Achievements: Getting more clothes for DD2
Challenges: Skipped naps made bedtime rough tonight and last night. I need to make sure DD gets her naps. We had a party yesterday and visited family today so it put a wrench in things.
Plans for the week? Busy week... Mon- Library, Tues- Hospital Tour for DD and I, Wed- Field Trip to Post Office & H's b-day, Thurs- Baby Shower at DD2's Mommy and Me class, Fri- nothing yet, Sat- bonfire for H's b-day
How are YOU doing? I'm doing ok. Just huge from swelling and end of pregnancy stuff. It is hard to get comfortable sitting or sleeping. I mopped the majority of the floor today and H did the small section I couldn't do when I ran out of energy. Having the dishwasher is a great help and I am glad we took the leap
Q's/Vent? I just need to remind myself not everything has to be done and bought right now. I still have time.
Gtky- What TV show are you looking forward to the most this fall? Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls new show
* I think I asked the TV question before. I'm so not good at Getting to Know You's.
Achievements: I survived the weekend without DH...although, I don't think I want to again for a while.
Challenges: I think DD is wanting to drop her nap...it's taking a long time this week to get her down for one. But she is really cranky without one...so I keep trying.
Plans for the week? We actually have no plans this week. DD has been asking to go to the zoo this weekend, so I think we'll go there Thursday when DH gets paid and renew our membership.
How are YOU doing? Not too good today...I'm emotionally fed up with my mil, and dealing with a cranky no nap threenager.
Q's/Vent? I'm going to bury this here, since I'm still pretty angry about it. I'm so fed up with mil...she called DH today bitching at him over a parenting choice we made because she's a "concerned grandparent". If she was such a concerned grandparent than she could pick up the phone every now and then and call just to say hi. I'm still so angry, I didn't tell DH to facetime her when he got home...but I guess she's not concerned enough to facetime us for our weekly call.
Gtky- What TV show are you looking forward to the most this fall? I agree with ashiscute, I can't wait for Game of Thrones in the Spring. I mostly watch movies or stuff on Netflix.
penguin129, I think you asked before what we were currently watching or favorite tv shows. I don't think this particular question has been used
Achievements: She rolled over (belly to back)! Twice! Still not intentional, but we're getting there.
Challenges: She's been really fussy lately. She had a cold about a week ago and she's still sort of getting over the cough/congestion, but she's been really needy the last few days and super needy today.
Plans for the week? Appointments Monday and Tuesday and housekeeping help comes Wednesday, so the big plan is to somehow get her to sleep around all that.
How are YOU doing? Tired. So so tired.
Q's/Vent? She's been so needy lately I don't know what to do. I feel like my life is revolving around when I can put her down for her next nap and not actually enjoying my time with her. That and when she does sleep she often starts crying in her sleep and it makes her naps really short, which just makes her more fussy and needy. It's a never ending cycle.
Gtky- What TV show are you looking forward to the most this fall? The next show I'm looking forward to is The Man in the High Castle. It comes out in December.

@auri Dropping naps is such a hard thing. I hope to drag them out as long as possible. DD is currently mostly awake at 11:40 after falling asleep at 830 pm. It seems I shot myself in the foot by skipping her nap 2 days in a row. Sorry about your mil.
@led It makes me smile when I see your gummy worms in here Sorry for the sleep issues. DD slept on me and I was a human bed in "nap jail" for the first 5 or 6 months. I didn't know about them then, but have heard carriers are great and plan on using one for DD2 in case she is like DD. Maybe you can try a carrier for her to nap in if you haven't already.

I use my wraps a lot, but she doesn't like me to be sitting down while she's in them unless she's asleep or almost asleep. And I do a lot of sitting because of my knees. That and I usually nurse her to sleep in my bed. If we're anywhere else I let her sleep on me, but she still cries. I don't know. I'm hoping she grows out of whatever this is soon.
@auri I'm a meany with naps. I made DD take them until she was 4.5 and DS is still taking them but only about half the time. Basically I allow him books and a couple quiet toys and tell him he has to stay in his room until X time. He has a clock and it's about 45 minutes I make him stay there. I'd say 75% of the time he falls asleep for a little while and I get a break.
@led I felt this way a lot when mine were little babies. It's a hard time. Babywearing, car rides, stroller walks, music, and this too shall pass. Hugs lady.

DD1 actually stopped in the middle of little gym to let me know she had to go potty.
Keeping up with housework and both girls. I feel like something is constantly being ignored.
We have way too much going on lately. Today through tomorrow we will be at the indoor water park, Wednesday we start this gym/learning class my friend started, both girls have little gym this week, and a short day trip Saturday.
@led, I'm sorry that your DD has been fussy lately. I hope she feels better!
ashiscute, I've been doing that all week too. I've been telling her she doesn't have to sleep, but can stay in her room and read books or play quietly. The problem I'm running into is she's been really cranky around 5 or 6 when she doesn't have the nap.

@auri Is there something you can do to make naps more fun? If DD is fighting me about sleeping I put up her play tent and let her read books in that. She usually falls asleep with no protest when I do that. The tent is something special I only use for naps, not bedtime.

Achievements: DS broke his record of days in school w/o breaking glasses (he made it to barely 4 days with his first pair) Saturday was the first day of fall swimming lessons. He did great & there was a girl from his class in his group so he was happy.
Challenges: every day picking DS up from school, I'm on high alert hoping he comes out of school with his glasses on lol
Plans for the week? Today I had my 2mo post op appt, after school DS has a checkup with the eye doc & 5yr checkup with the new pedi. Tomorrow just OT after school, speech cancelled. Thursday is open house at school. It overlaps with soccer so if we finish early, we'll do a partial night of soccer. Then just swimming on Saturday. Not sure what our weekend plans are yet.
How are YOU doing? Pretty good. My sinus issues have eased up a little so that's nice.
Q's/Vent? Nope
Gtky- What TV show are you looking forward to the most this fall? Hmm I enjoy Ellen & Dr Phil back. Not sure what other shows are coming back this fall. Drawing up a blank.
penguin129, I might have to try something like that.
This morning DD decided she wanted to go to the Children's Museum. She fell asleep in the car, so now I'm in the car in nap jail. I haven't done nap jail in the car in a long time.
Achievements: DS is rolling both ways, grabbing stuff, and holding his head up like a champ seemingly overnight.
Challenges: around the same time he started rolling so much and holding hai head up he's decided he doesn't like being rocked or snuggled anymore. 😠I have his 4 month appointment next week. I really hope he gained "enough" weight.
Plans for the week? Not spend money 😜 Nothing too crazy I'm trying to decide if I should go to Thursday morning bible study.
How are YOU doing? Pretty good. H and I had a really nice date night. We are still having some growing pains. I think he's stressed out with the new baby and being he only source of income.
Q's/Vent? Nothing I can think of...
Gtky- What TV show are you looking forward to the most this fall? Toss up Between flash, arrow, and gotham'
