*** super long...
I'm sorry it took me so long to write this and I'm sorry if it sounds confusing...
Good luck!
I had a super extra hard delivery but I am gonna try to make the story short.
It begins...
Tuesday after dinner I lost part of my Mplug and started having light contractions that were about 5 to 7 minutes apart. Wonderful!! But they were not strong enough to be admitted at the hospital... so I decided to wait and call my doctor on the following day... I had a bad night of sleep because I was waking up all the time with contractions that, by that time, were not consistent anymore (they were "all over the place" and had different intensities) Well, at about 1pm I was able to talk to the nurse who told me to take 2 Tylenols, rest, drink lots of water and only go to he hospital if contractions were strong and regular...
So after 24 hours of weird contractions I broke down... I just wanted to cry... I was so upset that the situation wasn't changing and concerned that maybe that was false labor and that I would be in that situation for days... even though
contractions started getting stronger, there would be times I wouldn't feel anything for over 20 minutes!! With all that, I decided to go to hospital even if it was just to be sent back home... I wanted to know what was going on. So DH put our stuff in the car and we headed to the hospital.
For my surprise, timing was perfect!! 4 minutes down the road shit started to get real, contractions were getting stronger and close together and by the time we reach the hospital (@ around 10pm) I was begging for an epidural ASAP!!
From that point things progressed good, my body was finally cooperating! I was even able to sleep amd rest before starting to push. And so, at around 7:30am it was game on, and I was thinking that the worst part of the actual labor was over. Boy, I was wrong...
Baby's head got stuck and I had very little progress after 2 and 1/2 hours of pushing. I was exausted... physically and emotionally. I started to cry so the nurses who were helping me decided to give me a break and the doctor came to talk about what was going on.
So, as I said, baby was stuck and his HR was kind of high... based on that doctor gave 2 choice: either do a c-section or use forceps...
I was so deeply disappointed... I felt stupid and worthless...
The doctor then decided to wait, give baby (and mama) a rest and evaluate the situation a little better... 30 minutes later, contractions were getting more spaced, epidural was not as strong (could finally move my right leg) but still effective, doctor walks in the room with a smile saying that situation changed and baby is doing better than she expected! She said I could still opt for a c-section but baby could definitely handle more pushing, but To be honest, I was still scared so I thought it was better that she decided for us... so, more pushing! About an hour more... It took 2 nurses, the doctor, DH helping and cheering me up, Plus all my strength to make baby to come out. When I finally saw him I could only cry... He is perfect...
7lb 1oz , 20 inches long... my little one was born at 38+ 4!!
I'm so in love!!!
