Hi everyone!!!!!
Baby Maeve (sounds like gave, save) arrived on Monday 9/12 at 1:46pm she weighed 8lbs 11oz and was 21" long.
I went into the hospital as planned for my 11:30am c-section. They were running a bit behind and didn't take me back until 12:15pm. I'm going to spare you all the gory details because I don't want to scare anyone about c-sections. But let's just say that things did not go as planned. A section normally takes 20-30min and Maeve wasn't born until 1:46pm. I had to much scar tissue when they opened me up that it took over an hour to get through all of it and get her out. Even parts of my intestines were fused to my uterus. DH who is a doctor couldn't watch to procedure after a while because it was so scary. The worst part was that the spinal started to wear off and I could feel a lot of what was going on for the last half (not totally, but a lot more than normal). DH was about to ask for them to put me completely under but then they were able to get her out.
My doctor was very clear about the fact that she is 100% a miracle baby and it's a good thing that she is my last because it would not be safe for me to carry another baby. I am recovering well and baby is perfect. She is a little bit jaundiced from the delivery (they had to use the vacuum to get her out which can cause a hematoma and lead to jaundice). She's nursing well and peeing and pooping like a good little baby. Big sisters love her already and really want us all to come home from the hospital!
I'll send a picture from my phone because I don't know how to do it from my lap top!!
