R just spit up a ton of bloody spit up. He had nursed on my sore nipple about 30 minutes earlier. It looks cracked now. I should assume that's the reason for the bloody spit up, right? He acts fine.

EG was much better mood-wise yesterday but back to fussing this morning. I can see that her top right tooth is thisclose to breaking through the gum. Hurry up, little tooth!
It took several hours last night to get C into his crib. He fell asleep at his normal time, but woke up every time I tried to get out of the glider - or if I actually made it over to the crib, he'd wake up the instant he was set down. I finally got him into the crib after letting sleep on me for an hour. From there, he was up every single hour like clockwork the rest of the night. Thankfully MH handled most of those wakeups and they were very brief.
Naps are only happening if someone is holding him now. It used to just be me that couldn't set him down, now it's with anyone.
I know some of it is teething related, but it's been getting worse for a long time. We have a call with a sleep consultant on Sunday. I can't wait. I can't believe how much things have changed, I mean he STTN most nights from 6 weeks to 6 months and it's just gradually gotten worse to the point where we are dreading nighttime every day. We need help.
HelgaHuffle, gosh you get the this day sucks award! Ugh. I think it is logical to conclude that the bloody spit up was from your nip (I've read that you might see blood in a diaper from it too, FYI). All my sorries.
I'm trying to get work done. but the anticipation of Hs interview on friday is extremely distracting. I just keep thinking of things that we might want to look into if we're looking at 6+ months of him long-distance commuting and being gone most the week, in addition to daycare we may need a dog walker, we may want to look into getting him a more fuel efficient car, we're going to have to get the house ready to list, we currently live in a tax-free state maybe we want to upgrade some of the things we've talked about upgradng (furniture, area rugs) while we can do so with no sales tax.
Ok, so major cuteness alert. While unloading the car last night, I left M in the car with the door open while I brought Clara and the first round of bags in side. I came back out to get M and she had her arms up and wrists bent like what, you forget about me? LOL So we went inside and I was demonstrating to DH and she did it at the same time as me. And then she did it again at the dinner table. So much attitude. I got a really crappy video of it this morning. And it is my new favorite thing. If you go "Margaret, what?!?!?" she'll do it. She is also blowing kisses. Gah. The cuteness. It kills me.
You reminded me to mention that EG started waving yesterday. H was cutting the grass and I kept saying "wave to daddy, hey daddy" while I was doing the motion and she would wave to him. Bestill my heart.
HelgaHuffle ... I hadn't considered that. He's never had an ear infection... He doesn't have a fever or any cold symptoms, but he does tug at his ears and he does scream/cry when we lay him down in the crib or for diaper changes. He does seem to have decreased appetite and obviously the difficulty sleeping... is it worth getting checked out in the absence of a fever or cold-like symptoms??

Sorry you are dealing with miserable sleep too
This was me with M last week. I was like what is going on!?!!! I brought her in case it was ears or I was missing something else. And then she had that virus. I definitely think you've waited it out long enough to warrant a visit.

Yeah, I agree with byjove. It's worth checking out. R didn't have a fever with his ear infection. My first sign with F was always screaming during diaper changes.

The one ear infection Margs had, she didn't have a fever either. These kids!
My husband accidentally stole my phone yesterday so I have had basically no adult interaction in 24 hrs. We are going out this afternoon so I can preserve some sanity.
I took C to the ped... it was not super helpful. She did rule out ear infection or any other virus etc., and she looked at his mouth and said she thinks the top teeth are still 2-3 weeks away from coming in. So with all that ruled out, she thinks his behavior is mostly separation anxiety (maybe coupled w/ some stranger anxiety with the new nanny), being at an age where they start to show preferences (ex. fussing during diaper changes b/c he doesn't feel like having his diaper changed, pushing away the spoon b/c he doesn't like that particular food or isn't in the mood to eat, etc.), and not being sleep trained/unable to put himself back to sleep. I told her we won't CIO and she basically dismissed me at that point (this was not our usual ped). I mean I told her, he went from waking up a couple times a night to waking up screaming every hour, it seems new & different to me?
I'm really hoping the sleep consultant is helpful.
Also - a thought - we took him off the Zantac three weeks ago, the pediatric GI said it was probably fine to. But now I'm wondering if that's behind some of this - maybe he wasn't ready?
IDK, I'm probably looking for answers where there are none, and he's just a baby being a baby.
geners I'm sorry you had to see that ped! That's good to know he isn't sick, and I think it's plausible it could be baby gonna baby, but go with your guy- you know your baby better than anyone else.
Did all of this start when you took him off to the Zantac?
So it seems we are done with bottles. Aside from the small 15mL bottle we give for vitamins he hasn't had an actual bottle since early last week. He is drinking solely out of his sippy at daycare now. I have mixed feelings about it. But I can say I am thrilled I don't have to wash nipples anymore!
5 weeks and 3 days until my boy is 1. Not that I am counting or anything. I got notification that his bday party invites shipped. I guess it is really happening.

I was looking back and it does seem like his sleep worsened and he's been overall eating less generally since he stopped the Zantac. It could be a coincidence but I'm going to try him on it again to see.
He just seems so uncomfortable - I am shocked she said his teeth are so far from coming in!

RoLoMa A is periodically skipping his afternoon bottle and it's freaking me out! I can't believe M is totally done! geners sorry that you're dealing with all of that. Hope you get some sleep soon!

I should clarify, he isn't skipping them. He just refused to drink out of the bottle anymore so we switched him to sippy cups. He is still having his 4oz of bm, he is just drinking it with his morning and afternoon snack in the sippy.
