Morning! No plans today, I'm home with C. MH will be getting home early so we might get grocery shopping out of the way tonight. Tomorrow we are meeting my friend and her LO at a farm for apple picking, pumpkin patch adventures, etc. I can't wait! Sunday we are helping my dad move. Less excited for that, but he's helped me move countless times so it's the least I can do.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I am looking forward to a short weekend getaway this weekend but dreading leaving EG. She was extra snuggly to me this morning, so that makes it even harder. But I know she will have a blast with my mom while I'm gone.

Oh also, a sippy cup question. EG uses the Nuk training cup without the handles. I have watched her use it like a pro. But lately she has a bad habit of sucking the water/juice out and instead of swallowing it, she leaves her mouth open and it all just runs down her shirt. I like to give her the sippy cup with meals, but it usually turns into a serious mess because food plus juice all over her. Has anyone dealt with this? Any tips on getting her to stop that?
H has his big interview at 12:30 today then we'll have the weekend to discuss and come-up with plans once we'll hopefully have actual numbers and a rough start date to work with. I anticipate I'll be completely useless at work today.

No advice but Haddie does this too. She adds in a look of betrayal for her own personal flare.
I wonder if it's a phase. Someone tell me it's just a phase.

This just sounds like baby shenanigans. Experimentation.
I am on a teleconference with about 15 people. There was a weird water pouring sound... and I was like OMG is someone peeing? and then FLUSH! good gravy. Lots of throat clearing from the crowd.
C does much better with a straw cup than a sippy, it's typically much less messy.
I bought a Nuby straw cup and when I tried it she looked at me like WTF is this. I guess she's not quite ready for a straw cup. I'm so jealous of all of you already on one though!

I swear by the zolibot for a straw cup.
She acted completely clueless about the straw. She put it on her mouth but in the same way she puts toys in her mouth, not with an intention of sucking/drinking. She is really curious about open cups so we may end up jumping right to those, or the 365 cups.
I haven't tried a sippy with H yet thatgirlrachel so I have no info on that particular issue but I can say the blowing raspberries with a mouth full of puree is getting OLLLLLDDDDD. She thinks it's hilarious
Oof, I bet. We are 99% off of purees, and that is one of the many reasons I am so glad!

byjove, didn't M go through an EI eval? Someone one Parenting is asking what the eval will be like. I was going to tag you into the thread, but I wasn't 100% positive that's what M did.

Tonight we're hitting up lowes for their 10% off Sale to get a few things for the house. No plans tomorrow. Sunday I need to run way too many miles then we're going apple picking with friends. This orchard also makes its own apple vodka and hard cider, so I might require some indulgence after the week I've had.

Ugh. Does anyone stress about where they will send their kid to school as much as me? Where we live, we have such limited options and none of them extremely ideal. I have 3ish years to worry about it, but man does it weigh on me constantly.
thatgirlrachel, M uses a Nuby soft spout sippy. He doesn't take bottles anymore at all. Babies are in a constant state of trying things out/experimenting. She is probably doing just that. M did it for a while too. She'll get it eventually
I have to go get stamps at lunch so I can mail M's bday invites out. 5 weeks people. 5 weeks.
I also started having some serious anxiety about my possible next pregnancy (that isn't even on the imminent horizon). I will have to get Makena injections weekly from 16w until 36-37w and it terrifies me. I don't know why it is suddenly on my mind but I am so nervous. I hate shots and from what I gather, these are pretty wicked. I know it is for the best, and hopefully that helps me to rationalize the pain, but damn. If it even helps a little to get me to term, I'll do it, but I really don't want to. Also, I am clearly crazy for already worrying about this.
I am taking M to Texas next week and have a ton of stuff to do this weekend to get ready for it. The least of which is learn how to install the new car seat we just got (Cosco Scenara) so that I can do it in the cab once we get there. I am just glad my mom is able to go so that I can take M with me.

The p17 shots aren't bad themselves but after a while the injection sites get uncomfortable.
Good to know. I have a pretty high pain tolerance but it is always the anticipation that kills me. I'll come to you for tips and tricks once it is an actual reality.

I did a lot of shots for IVF. It wasn't great but it wasn't that bad. I would ice the spot prior to the shot (on the more painful ones) and then use heat the next day when sore. I agree that anticipation is the worse part.
byjove, we once had a conference call and someone went to the bathroom and flushed not on mute. I laughed through the whole call, as did many of the others in my office. I still laugh when I think about it. Potty humor is always funny.

thatgirlrachel, A went through a phase with the water dribbling. She's much better about it now, but we just changed her onesie frequently. I need to try some of these straw cups too!
We are going to take a drive out to the mountains to see the fall leaves and do some sightseeing. I invited my parents along because I always things how nice it will be to do something as one big happy family. Except, I always end up getting super frustrated with them within about an hour because of their constant nagging and worrying. This time'll be different right??
