We went to a local conservation area and had a picnic lunch. DS1 loved throwing rocks and sticks into the pond! We saw a garter snake that got a little aggressive when we got too close. L slept in the stroller pretty much the whole time.
I might relax in the backyard with a beer, these sunny days won't last forever!

H and I were suggesting Red Robin for dinner tonight so I wouldn't have to cook for them and MIL wouldn't rifle through our stuff to cook. Well, they decided to eat at Five Guys (burgers) while they were out sight seeing today so now they won't eat Red Robin. We have suggested 2 other allergen friendly places to eat and MIL refused to go.
So, she pulls H aside and stats asking him what he wants her to cook. All of the options she is giving him have either milk, eggs, or both in them. I was basically yelling from across the room that I can't eat those things and she is ignoring me. H was looking confused and basically said I need to have a say. MIL then starts asking about thawing the meat we have in the freezer that we had portioned out for other meals later this week.
MIL then gives me a choice between her making her meatloaf recipe (which has milk and eggs in it) or her spaghetti recipe which we have only half the ingredients for and would require H and I to take a trip to the store (20 minutes away). She won't go to the store herself.
I tell her that if she wants meatloaf I have the stuff to make it and I will make my own recipe that doesn't contain milk or eggs. She then gives me a satisfied look because she has roped me into cooking for 6 people which is not something I wanted to do and H told her that weeks ago.
I am so pissed and frustrated. S and I are taking a timeout in our room.

Should have told MIL to go fuck herself & ordered pizza for yourself, H & kids (or whatever you can have delivered without milk/egg.) What a bitch.

Had a busy weekend here. My Mom came to visit and annoyed me basically the whole time. She's super judgy and always has little comments about everything. On a positive note, we did sign all the paper work for the house we are buying and got to pick all of our customizations. We are really excited but it won't be finished until March/April.

This. Or been like, "I'm headed to Red Robin. You're free to join me!"

sarcaztic10 why is she so hell bent on having you cook? What does it matter, as long as there's a meal? She sounds like a real piece of work. I hope she's out of your hair soon. Sending wine.

They are gone. Hopefully I won't have to see them for another 9 months to a year.
While MIL was here she announced that our Christmas present this year would be nice luggage because our currrent set isn't nice enough. H and I protested that we never go anywhere so we don't need luggage to which she replied asking us what color we want. Last year she told us our silverware wasn't nice enough so she was getting us a better set for our joint Christmas gift... apparently I was raised to incorrectly think I should get something I actually want for Christmas.

W-O-W. Ouch. Throat punch to her. I'd not be a fan either if someone was constantly telling me that I/my things are not good enough. I mean, clearly they are good enough for you! Yeezus

These stories really aren't even the tip of the iceberg of my problems with them. They have so many other issues. I honestly don't know how H turned out so normal.
I mean MIL doesn't believe in expiration dates... how did H even survive??

All my sorries. I have really bad Inlaws and many days I wonder how Dh turned out so well.... Then I remember how much money we spend on therapy for all the messing up they did.
