Big hugs melody330 . How much Zantac does he get? If he's in pain, has he outgrown his dosage? And since he's so young, I still nurse E to sleep every night. Half of our nights are terrible and half are decent so I don't think the nursing makes a difference except for getting him to sleep. When he's 4-6 months and able to be sleep trained, I'll start to phase that out. Would it be worth trying just to help with your sanity now? Correct me if I'm wrong, but do they even have sleep books for babies this young? I wouldn't think so.
I didn't realize this is something I should stop doing at some point. Should I be not doing this? I honestly don't know how I'd get F to sleep without nursing.
What is suggested? (I'm totally ignorant about sleep training )
I nursed DD1 to sleep until she weaned at 14 months. It worked for us and we never replaced it with a bottle or anything at night time. My take on these things is you just do what feels right and works for you.SaveSave
melody330 from everything you've been saying it sounds like he has outgrown his Zantac dosage. Hope the doctor can help on Wednesday! And that it means more sleep soon!

I woke up exhausted but I think it's just from having such a stressful weekend. Pretending to be happy is really hard work.
One of the things I do when I put S into the pack n play for the first part of the night is heat up a sock full of rice and place it in the exact spot S will be sleeping in in the PnP. It keeps his place warm so when I set him down he doesn't wake up as soon as he hits the cold sheets. I also leave a breast pad behind that smells like me. When I was feeding formula to L I would wear a spare sock under my shirt for a bit and put it on the rice sock that I left behind in his crib.

I need B to sleep tonight. H is sick as a dog and I've been solo parenting all damn day. Dinner, bed time, baths all on me. And I've gotten no sleep in weeks. I swear to god if I get this sickness from H I'll crack.

Sleep well, babies!
melody330 if you get the sickness, you need to milk it for all it's worth and get your H to solo parent so you can sleep! Fingers crossed you don't get it though and that your H recovers quickly.
Irene is still waking up to eat at night but I've been super engorged the past couple nights. I don't understand it since she should be taking care of it when she nurses. I'm going to start taking Motrin before bed.

ellebelle I have also noticed extra engirgement at night ev n though S is still waking up at his usual times and eating normally. I am not sure what is happening.

Irene cluster fed from 5:30-7:15 then fell asleep finally in the swing. I'm going to grab her soon to move upstairs for bedtime with DD1. Hope all that eating means a good night.
I'm so envious of those of you who have babies that fall asleep early or in a swing. L has been doing good sleep stretches but still isn't out for the night until between 10 and 11. He's a night owl like his mama I guess. I hope eventually he starts falling asleep earlier because I'd like at least an hour to myself before going to sleep.

willow DD1 hated the swing and went to bed at 10:30 around this age. She also was waking up every 2 hours still and I was already back at work too. I don't know how I survived but I am so incredibly thankful Irene is more easy going (as long as I feed her and her reflux isn't bothering her)

Both boys are asleep. It seems B has taken to a bedtime of 8:30. Fine by me!
During his nap today I was googling his birthmark. He has a blue, small, bruise spot on his nose. Apparently it's a real thing...called a sugar bug vein. I can't find any medical journals or sites, mostly just crunchie hippy articles and sites. But the main thing they all say is that it's linked to sleep and stomach issues in babies and behavior issues in older kids when not in check. WTH?? I have never heard of this.
I asked around and a few nursing friends all swear it's one of those old wives tales that a lot of people believe is true.
Poor HK. She is so tired but she has a cough/mucous so she keeps coughing her paci out. I am a ninja on a paci mission ever 10 min or so. But she goes back to sleep once it is in. I'll take it

Omg lol! I'd never heard of Richard Cheese before, ended up listening to quite a few of his songs! Love it!

Interesting. I had the same mark as a baby. Still have it, but it's so small and faded now that it's not noticeable. As a baby, I cried all the time and sleep was a disaster (up all day, took forever to get me down, but did sleep at night at least). I was definitely colicky. I also had tummy issues (still do to an extent). I was the reason my mom can understand how a parent could snap and shake her baby. Wonder if it's related to the mark. But the good news is, I never had any behavioral issues. I currently love sleep, don't have major tummy trouble, and only became a crier once I had children.
Someone has woken me up every hour this night. The main offender is DH. He comes to bed so late after I'm asleep and tries to talk to me then turns on his bedside light. I gave up and went to sleep in the girls room. Now the baby has me up.

This would cause rage. Once asleep the only person that can wake me up is someone under 4 feet tall. One of the reasons we got a temperpedic mattress was so he didn't wake me up getting into bed.
