Good morning. My desk at work exploded in pink and blue streamers and gifts over the weekend. It's very sweet but I have no idea who did it and only a couple of the gifts have cards.
So I guess after my social media announcement now the cat is really out of the bag. At least I won't have to actually tell anyone at work. It's hard to miss my decorated cube haha.
Happy Monday! I have a dentist appointment in a few hours, and Delaney is having a play date while I'm there so she doesn't terrorize the place. Then my sister and baby nephew are coming over to visit, yay!
We didn't have one for the first baby because of super tiny apartment and ended up bouncing her up and down on an exercise ball. Maybe good for the quads but not helpful for the parent getting back to sleep. Now we actually have some room. Anyone have one that they loved or looking at a really cool one? I would love something that doesn't scream baby furniture because this will probably be the last kid.
It's 7 here. Baby woke up at 5 and just went down a few minutes ago after nursing on and off for 90 min. High of 100 today, and since we don't have AC the house will be in the 90s this afternoon.
But the latest episode of radio lab was really good (primitive streak). A good listen about the study of human embryos in the lab, if you're into that kind of thing.

Ooo, I saw that one pop in the feed. Glad to hear it's good, I'll have to check it out on my walk tonight.

I have a hand me down that is just the basic baby furniture looking glider with an ottoman, but I (and by I, I mean my MIL) made new slipcovers with cute, colorful fabric to cover the awful fabric they usually come with. I didn't have any intention of buying one, but I actually ended up loving it and would have considered it money well spent if I had bought one. It's still clearly baby furniture, but it doesn't look bad, and I can see keeping it for quite a few more years to use for bedtime stories and snuggling. Not sure if you're into this, but people sell them on Craigslist constantly, so it's really easy to find one on the cheap!

We bought a lazy boy with DS1. Chocolate brown so it went with DS1's room. It didn't "go" with DS2's room but trust me when I tell you it doesn't matter. There were so many nights I would doze back off in that chair nursing my baby's. Get something that rocks and reclines.
Plus, after 7 years, it's actually in perfect shape and we still use it for reading every night. Both me and my boys have plenty of room.

Good Afternoon! sympkin, I don't have a specific brand recommendation, but I got a clearly-baby-furniture glider at a furniture store and still love it for reading bedtime stories or just getting in some cuddles with my 2.5-year-old. I think we'll continue using it for a few years.
I officially can only fit into my LLR leggings and button-up jeans with a hair tie. I'm wearing a pair of jeggings with a stretchy band around the top today and I'm like a sausage stuffed into them. So uncomfortable. I need to go shopping for new maternity jeans stat.
When we were at the doctor's yesterday, DS crawled up behind me, hugged me, and went "my potato." We obviously had to have baked potatoes last night lol

sympkin I bought my glider from babies r us, and it looks pretty much like regular furniture. I wanted a chair that I can move out of kids rooms once we don't need to rock them to sleep anymore. I'll try to find the one I bought!

DD has swimming lessons tonight. I let DH take over going in the water with her because she is just so much more willing to try new things with him- she just clings to me. I have GOT to get these stuffed-sausage pants off. I wonder if DH will just take her by himself and let me stay home just so I can put sweats on and breathe alone for a while...

I got to DD's swimming lessons super early and now I'm awkwardly lurking while the high school swim team finishes up. We're the first parents here. So awkward.
Anyone watching the debate tonight? Or is everyone sleeping?
DH wants to skip it. Our votes are very much decided and he feels like listening to it is just going to make him angry. I can't disagree. We DVRed tonight's Big Bang Theory and are going to watch that instead.
