I'm a zombie today. Everyone keeps telling me to let H give B a bottle MOTN so I can sleep. I just smile and nod because I can't tell them B is a hellion for H and it would never work. H gets super frustrated that he can't soothe B and I don't know what to tell him.
MH can't soothe Irene either. It's really frustrating for both of us and I know it hurts his feelings. One day it will get easier though.
DD1 is sick so we're stuck in the house on a rainy day. Blah. Except I have to go get my PPD test read at a hospital on the other side of town and try to get cleared by my doctor/ possibly a minute clinic for the physical portion. It's so dumb that just because I have a cold the NP said it was "uncontrolled asthma". I'm not 100% yet but sound so much better two days later. You know, because it's a cold. Thank god my mom is driving (at least one hour drive each way) in to watch DD1 while I get the test read.
Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with infant colds? I've got a humidifier in the room now, he gets Tylenol every 6 hours, I try to suck out his boogers with a stupid snot sucker bulb (crap) I tried to find the straw kind but no where in town has one. He's just so congested especially at night and then choke coughs on his boogers I think.

Amazon one day shipping for nose frida. And saline spray, not drops!

Keep him upright as much as you can or on an incline (bouncy chair, prop up the legs of the crib or pillow under the mattress). Also put him in the bathroom, close the door and run the shower in hot, the steam will help loosen the mucous and phlegm. Do this before snot sucking if you can! And saline spray is awesome.

S still seems really uncomfortable from his shots yesterday. I have him Tylenol twice yesterday and I may give him some again in a minute if he doesn't settle fir a nap. He keeps whimpering and crying which wakes him up. He doesn't even want to take a pacifier to soothe himself.

I only have two weeks left of my maternity leave. Yesterday I found out that daycare doesn't allow swaddling during nap time. S is swaddled for every nap. I have 2 weeks to get him more used to being unswaddled for naps. Oh and next week L has the whole week off school for fall break and I am solo with both kids.

Pretty sure our daycare doesn't swaddle for naps either. I always just let Irene nap on me or on the go (swing or walk). It will be a tough transition but I'm not sure what else to do.
DH and I are going out for dinner since he starts his new job Monday.
I would rather nap. Can't right now because I have two stupid dogs. One who is being a drama queen still from getting shots 2 days ago. The other for barking for no reason every so often.

I'd just keep doing what works for you and let daycare worry about getting him used to napping there.
sarcaztic10, A needs to be swaddled for sleep too. But somehow at daycare, they get her to sleep unswaddled there, no problem. Daycare magic strikes again.
Turns out I managed to pick up HFM from my little germ bags. I feel like hot garbage. A was up every hour last night and I am watching J "nap" on the monitor. This nap involves rocking himself in his chair, turning his light on, and pulling all the shit out of his dresser. Whatever, dude. Just be quiet for a while. I need a Fucking break and I need this week to be over.
Haven't read yet. Been running around like a wild woman yesterday and today, with 2 cranky kids from shots, trying to get my shit together for my new job. I went on a 2 hour wild goose chase this morning to get fingerprinted for a background check. I still was unable to get it done because of the incompetence of the university police dept in filling out the form. This all culminated in me asking a police officer twice if he was "fucking kidding me", bursting into tears, and stomping out the door of the police station, with the baby screaming in the car seat. I decided to go home and take a break, calm down, and head back when there's hopefully a shift change. Otherwise I'll just have to head back in there with my tail between my legs, because that's the only place in town I can get my fingerprinting done today. FML.
Thanks ladies! We tried the shower and I'll pick up some saline spray tomorrow when I'm in town. My mom suggested vaporub on his feet but I feel like vaborub+babies=hard no
Ray, there is a vaporub specifically for babies. Check the age, F might be old enough for it. I've never tried the put it on their feet thing, but many people recommend it, so it must work.
Just got back from the doctor. This day has been so much back and forth and appts. Irene is a hot mess because she hasn't gotten a decent nap all day. I'm now on an inhaler and Z pack for bronchitis and DD1 is coming off the tail end of her fever. Definitely ordering in tonight. So over this week.

I used this in DS1 when he was little, but I can't remember what age (helpful, I know!). Now when I put it on his chest, I also put some on his feet. Not sure if it works, but I figure it can't hurt!

What did I do wrong in my past life to punish me with yet another crappy napper? Is it too much to ask to get 1 hour during the day where I can remember what it's like to not have a small human touching me or yelling mommy over and over again?
Today has sucked in so many ways. Sounds like I'm not alone. LTs for commiseration. Hope we all fare better this weekend.

H came home in a mood today. He said his stomach still hurts. He was sick last week and he's complain of a stomach ache. I feed B and ditched all their asses to grab takeout. I may or may not eat it in the car.

H, baby, and I took a mini road trip to see his BFF for his birthday (BFF has MD and uses a wheelchair and has outlived Dr. prognosis, so we celebrate big with him every year). Anyway, we were all squishing in the elevator of his apartment building and I was close to the control board with all the buttons. Next thing I know, an alarm is going off and a person is calling us from emergency dispatch (BFF lives in an apartment for people with disabilities) asking if we are alright. Here my lower stomach, which is still VERY numb from my c-section, pressed the emergency button.

So I'm usually really artistic and crafty but I made a serious mess trying to glitterfy the dress for DD's Halloween costume (Glinda). I keep trying to fix it with more glittet and make it worse, so today I saw a nice pink dress for $5 on a local Facebook group and bought it. I'm starting over. I'm so ashamed. I teach painting for money but I can't glue glitter on a child's costume.
In better news I used leftover pulled pork to make bbq pizza and, holy moly, it's so good.
