Hello! We went to Target and picked up some more fall clothes, I want to immediately wash them and dress C in them. He's napping on me at the moment. We got blackout shades for the nursery last week and it is soooo hard to stay awake in here now!
MH and I are being snippy with each other, I hate it. He got on my nerves last night and I snapped at him. C's sleep has been extra crap the last few nights with these top teeth finally actually coming in, and MH is being very pain olympics about the whole thing. Like I can't ever say I'm tired or mention how long I was up with C at night without him having to one up me. Or he'll make passive aggressive comments to C in front of me. Like I get it, we are all tired, but we should be supportive & sympathetic with one another!! I was grumbly when I got back into bed this morning after spending 2 hours with C, then feeding the cats and cleaning up cat poop off the floor, and first thing MH did was respond with the hours he was up with C earlier in the night. Like just let me have this moment, okay? I'm not saying you don't have it bad too? Ugh it feels petty and I hate it.

I can't believe it's October. Why does 10 months old sound so old all of a sudden? We're dropping the crib down again today. Probably should have done it a couple days ago.
Margs hasn't nursed much today and has a runny hose (she keep sticking her fingers in her nose so maybe it itches?) I think it's a tooth causing these shenanigans... show yourself!

Finally feeling like I am back in the groove with being in Angola. I had a few days of crying because I didn't want to be here but I am okay now. This is just the way it needs to be for awhile. The long term benefit financially is so great that I know I can manage until mid next year at least. H and I have had lots of discussion since I returned. He knows I don't want to be here but I can tell he is so worried about finding another position right now I'm willing to let the issue go for awhile. Trying to tell myself I only have until December before I go back to the US. I really am trying to see the brighter side of things and not getting bogged down in what I'm missing.
Cams jet lag seems to be over. He slept a full night from 7-7 in his crib so I am pretty happy about that. We did have a few nights of bed sharing and I loved it! It had been so long since we had done that I am liking that he can go back to normal other nights. We might have to do that more often when he has early morning wake ups.
We just booked our trip to South Africa in November. Really excited to enjoy Cape Town with Cameron, as it is one of our favorite places in the world.
Working on organizing everything for Cams birthday party. We need to reserve a section of our pool/recreation center. His birthday is on Angolas Independence Day so I expect it to be very busy.
Hope everyone is enjoying cooler temperatures! It was so hot in Houston when I left I'm happy to have a little cooler climate here in Angola right now.

expatmama11 It must be so hard to go back and forth to another country, especially with a small child and so far away. You're doing great! I'm glad Cam is sleeping so well for you guys!
geners I may have missed this bc I have been out of the loop, but how was the sleep coach phone call?
It was really good! I typed up my notes in the sleepless nights thread if you want to check it out. We picked a very slow moving plan so we haven't seen improvement yet, but hopefully some of the things we are doing now are planting the seeds for better sleep down the road. We will start trying to put him down drowsy next week, eek!!
It's been an ok day over here. LO let us sleep until 6:30, she took a good nap in the morning and another good nap in the afternoon. H and I have spent the day rearranging the living room and doing paint prep work (patching holes where the TV was mounted and staining the new trim on the windows) all in anticipation of staging the house to put it up for sale.

Nothing interesting here today. H was off work but went to a friend's to watch football. Sorry about that game thatgirlrachel The boys and I just played outside all afternoon.
R fought naps all days. Anyone else started having epic battles over putting on clothes and getting in the car seat? R is getting very opinionated. I can see the toddler coming. Hold me.

Oh yes. Diaper and outfit changes are disasters in our house. He's not afraid to express himself and let us know if we are doing something he doesn't want!

Yip yip yip. Pajamas are the worst. It's awful.
We were just saying tonight, we need to move diaper/pajamas/sleep sack to earlier in the bedtime routine so he has time to calm down afterwards. He goes crazy!!

@helgahuffle, thanks for thinking of me 😝 that was a rough one to lose!
byjove, give me that outfit right now! Margs always has the cutest clothes.
We installed the 4ever and went to the playground today. EG LOVED the new seat. It was the least whiny car seat ride we have had in months. She sits up higher and can see out of the window which I think helps. And the swings at the playground were a hit. Minus UGA football, it was a good day our way.

The car seat, yes. H is adamant that we return both our Graco Mysize convertibles for Britax Marathon since he bought one on a whim. Ellie used to be awesome in the car, but she's been a bit of a monster lately and H is blaming the car seats. I sure hope he's right cause these seats are quite a bit more expensive.

So he got the job?
We "know" he has the job, we just don't know what the compensation package looks like, when they want him to start, if they're offering relocation assistance...yada yada

Yes to battle with clothes. We have been going with just diaper a lot bc I don't want to fight. After bath is definitely the worst. I hate putting pjs on him right now.

It is super hard but because I like being in he US I'm willing to deal with it. The difference between returning in May and then September was huge. Sleep training Cam after the last trip made the world of difference for us. Now I'm not so nervous to deal with him on my own bc I know I can actually get him to sleep.

expatmama11 Sleep is going well for us. She very rarely wakes during the night. Getting her down to sleep is a little bit tricky. Her naps seem to be in flux so finding that sweet spot for bedtime is proving difficult. It also doesn't help that her two older siblings are basically going wild right when she's trying to go to sleep! Thanks for asking!
I can start to tell Margs's milk in take is starting to decrease as she is eating more solid foods. She's up to 2 pouches a day at daycare and about 13 oz of milk! (I'm pumping 14 or so). I am so happy to meet this milestone, and it means so many great things about less pressure to keep up with insane milk consumption, but it makes me a little sad that it is yet another sign she is growing up. Gah
And a cold has hit our house. Clara is ok, but the rest of us have it. I'm feeding my sore throat coconut milk ice cream and free of everything whoopie pie to make myself feel better for elevenses
The way DD acts you'd think we change her on a bed of hot sharp rocks. If I give her a toy or something to hold on to that usually distracts her enough to get the job done without too much fuss.
A very special thing is occurring in my house right now - DD and DS are both asleep. At the same time!! It took me only 1.25 hours to accomplish this feat.
byjove, I just came in here to lament about M and nursing. I was sort of in denial but today proved that he indeed gave up his mid-morning nursing session. He had only been nursing for short periods for the last couple of days. Today he physically pushed my boob away and laughed. Now we are down to 4 sessions and a brief session right before bed. I was sad for a minute but am actually handling it pretty well. I'm going to wean myself off that pumping session over this week and I am really looking forward to that. Since I nurse him at lunch during the week I only need to send 4oz to daycare per day now. I guess I have to accept that my baby is growing up
