I fly home today!!!!! I won't see A until tomorrow morning since I won't wake him when I get in at 1am. ;) I made it to the last day of this trip! Thank you for all of the encouragement and for giving me a space to whine and vent. Love you all.
Oops- wrong thread. My moan is that I have to work all day and still fly out tonight.

My Monday moan is hospital bills. EG is 10 months old and I have yet to receive a bill for her hospital stay. There were some issues with the insurance which have since got straightened out, but this hospital is also known for unreliable billing. So I guess I'll have to keep calling them, begging them to take my money. Grrr.

Yeesh!!! Our hospital can be terrible about that stuff too, the billing dept is the worst. Can you call and pester them?
I am going to call today and see if I can talk to an actual person about it. I don't understand how these hospitals can function with terrible billing departments. Hopefully I can get an answer today.

Oh, one more moan that I don't want to bring down the randoms thread with. I am so over my Paraguard and/or whatever hormonal imbalances are going on with me. I got irrationally mad at H Friday night over nothing, and I dragged the fight on until Saturday morning. I knew I shouldn't be so mad, but I just couldn't help it. Also, I had my period 2 weeks ago (8 days long) and since it has stopped I have still had period-liked symptoms (cramping, breaking out, bloat, mood swings, etc). I don't know if the IUD is to blame or what, but I will be so glad to get it out tomorrow.

Medical bills are the worst. Insurance is the worst. The combination is just horrible. My favorite is when they send the bill to collections and they've never sent you a bill before that. Get it together, people!
My moan is that I'm falling so far behind in my half marathon training. I have stitches in my side from having a mole removed last week and I'm really sore still - they are constantly aggravated by picking up C and just moving around in general, no matter how careful I am. I would really like to get back to running and I know it would not be a good idea until this heals a little more.

Well I just logged into my old insurance account (different insurance with my old employer) and it looks like I don't owe anything for her which I am extremely skeptical about. It shows:
Provider billed: $ABC Member discount: -$DEF Net charged: $XYZ Insurance paid: $XYZ
Member responsibility: $0.00
I'm not getting my hopes up that this is accurate, but hopefully I can get some answers one way or the other.

I think it could be possible. I paid $0 for all my maternity care, testing/scans, delivery and hospital stay. But that was stated in my member benefit brochure. I was skeptical, but it was true!
My moan is for Margs. She had a rough night. I am not sure if it was the rice (we stopped oatmeal and rice to see if that was causing the heartburn, we saw some improvement stopping oatmeal and we are too afraid to try it again) but we let her have some rice yesterday. Poor thing was in so much pain from reflux. Crying, thrashing, couldn't pick her up, couldn't put her down. Two episodes of this that lasted about 30 minutes. Was it the rice? Something else? I had heartburn last night too, so maybe it wasn't the rice? I just wish this would stop fun for no one

mistabinx, I'm so sorry! I can't believe that so many of our hospitals have terrible billing departments. Waiting 9-10 months for a bill is insane. If you work, does your employer offer a healthcare plan with an HSA? I am about to bump my HSA contribution up to the max amount that they match to help with our medical bills.
I have another hospital billing moan. but this is from the dog bite that H got about 2 months ago while he was out running, it's huge, I just called biling because the "pharmacy" charge was almost $9000! I get that rabies shots might be expensive, but you bill had better be more spicific than "pharmacy" for me to accept that that's what it costs. so yea, one run with a dog bite costs $10,000+. thank god for the insurance discount, but we still owe a ton of money for this.
I have another moan. We decided to do a holiday weekend getaway a couple of weeks ago and booked a hotel at the DE beach. Looks like it might be a total rain out with the hurricane coming. I hope it stays away! Cloudy, cool, some drizzle, we can handle. But being stuck in a hotel room will not do.

Rice can cause issues, not all rice makes DD react, but some cause pretty big issues.
I am afraid it was the rice, but she had rice puffs last week and was ok? Do you think I would start getting heartburn from rice? This is so freaking confusing!
byjove Oatmeal made H throw up Exorcist style. I've been too afraid to try it again, and that was about 5 months ago! Is it a new brand of rice? Or have you tried switching brands to see if it helps? So hard when they can't talk to us and tell us what it feels like and when it happens.
This was just straight up rice. Nothing that she hadn't eaten before.

I am not sure about the heartburn, but DD has reacted to one brand of rice and rice puffs. A different brand is fine. Are you still concerned about corn by-products being an issue? Because enriched foods usually have corn by-products.
AHA! Thank you for saying that. We had just been saying maybe corn wasn't the issue because I had eaten a few corn chips last week and things seemed fine. I totally forgot I ate a bag of corn chips from chipotle yesterday to celebrate. That would do it, that would do it. Clearly I need more sleep. That makes the most sense, and also probably why I had heartburn. I'm so embarrassed I forgot I ate them. Trialed and failed.

I actually don't get health insurance through my employer, it's just my boss, me, and one contractor who work here so I get insurance through my husband's job. They don't have HSA.
The irony is that my husband works for an insurance company.......and our insurance sucks.
