It's going well now that milk blister is fully healed. Those things hurt!!!! No real challenges. My supply seems to be keeping up although finding a time to pump to add to freezer stash is essentially impossible. Biting has been interesting but she seems to have decided it's. not worth it. Still hoping to make a year. Although a little less or a little more and I won't complain. Doing solids but pretty much anytime throughout the day but it's more snacks thsn meals. Still really just playing with food. She does eat a pretty solid dinner though. Thinking about weaning gives me the feels. It's been overall a really positive thing for me. I feel really lucky to have had this experience.
Any challenges? Anything getting easier? Any changes? I started pumping twice at work so I think my supply is doing ok for now. For a few weeks DD was clawing at my boob to the point it drew blood but that seems to have stopped, so yay!
Any questions for the other mamas? Anyone else's baby still nurse every 3 hours? She still gets up every 3 hours overnight like clockwork.
What's your BF/ Pumping goal length of time? 1 year. Kind of an arbitrary long term goal I initially set, will see how it goes after that.
Any changes due to solids intro? How many solids a day? Solids (purées) twice a day.
I haven't seen too much of a change, except now that I'm working at home almost exclusively I'm just pumping twice a day and nursing him when I used to do the third pump. We're also currently nursing more than I'd like overnight. I promised MH we'd move the baby into his room this weekend, so we'll see if sleeping in different rooms affects that.
I'm hoping to nurse until he weans. But we might reevaluate depending on how it's going at a year.
He eats a pretty good dinner, and I'm trying to add in breakfast. He eats table foods so I'm not sure that he's actually eating that much, but he's usually pretty interested in trying everything.
I still love nursing too. I especially love when we have our quiet time together in the morning and when he goes to bed - it's so sweet to watch him nurse to sleep.
lucanjo14, for the past week or so my baby has been going 4 hours, then 3, then 3 overnight, like clockwork. Previously he had been doing about 6 and then 5. I'm hoping this is just a phase. He still eats every 3-4 hours during the day though - usually 6-7 times per day.

How is it going? Pretty well! Any challenges? Anything getting easier? Any changes? I'm actually trying to increase my pumping at work. My freezer stash is dwindling and that makes me nervous. So I'm trying to pump at least 3 times and increase my time. I'm also trying to throw in a quick pump before I got to sleep with the manual to hopefully get a little extra stored away.
Any questions for the other mamas? Nope What's your BF/ Pumping goal length of time? At least a year, then we'll see.
Any changes due to solids intro? How many solids a day? She gets yogurt mixed with fruit in the morning and then whatever we are having for dinner. She is doing great getting the food into her mouth with her hands now and is loving it. She gets purees if we are out and about or snacky things like puffs or yogurt melts. She will not nurse in public anymore which is fine by me.
Positive stories to tell about breastfeeding or pumping or bottle feeding? I just love it. Even if she is now grunting and kicking me through each session. The best time is at bedtime after she has had a bath and is all ready for bed. I still nurse her to sleep (bad, I know!) and the cuddle her for a few minutes before I put her down in her crib.
and/or any rants? Frustrated with the night nursing too. My ST attempts have all gone backwards and she is back to waking up a lot and wanting me. I bring her into our bed in the middle of the night and of course she just wants to nurse anytime she stirs. I've been trying the pacifier if she wakes up before midnight. She'll take it but won't fall asleep with it. I know this is my fault for nursing her to sleep to begin with though.
kelltothekell I'm also down to pumping twice a day at work. We still do one MOTN feed. E is still doing some breastfighting and I have the scratches on my chest to prove it.
Goals: a year and beyond until I have to wean to do another IVF cycle. I'd ideally like to go to two years but we're going to probably cycle again before that and they won't let me unless I've weaned, sob. kcrkcs I agree I feel really lucky to have had this great breastfeeding experience.
E's reliably doing two solid meals a day, sometimes three now that her strike is over.
nikiswimrlucanjo14 DD sometimes grabs and squeezes my boob while feeding and I have several little scratches and some little bruises too (i bruise really easily).
+1 to this. I think he's actually getting better, but ouch. I have to cut his fingernails about twice a week. He will also sometimes grab at my lovehandle. Thanks kid :-)
