Sorry, it's been crazy around here and my new phone is slippery so one handed typing is out of the picture this time. I don't know what to do with my time when I'm feeding now! Gggrrrr...
So I headed in for induction on Tuesday (Sept 13th) evening and they put in a Foley catheter. This fell out not soon after. I warned the night nurses that DS arrived very quickly so they decided to wait until morning to break my waters.
They broke my waters at 8 and I got pretty regular contractions about 20 minutes later. One minute I was watching Dr. Phil and Say Yes to the Dress, and then suddenly I got a huge storm of contractions. They told me to get on the bed to check dilation, then little lady wasn't tolerating that so they tried to get my back on the birthing ball. At 7cm I suddenly felt that Zoe was trying to come out. The midwife started telling me to push if i felt the need, then the gyno made this dramatic 'NO!" statement, because Zoe was of course stuck with her shoulders behind the remaining 3cm. "Luckily" 2 contractions later I was ripped apart to the full 10cm (they think) or in any case, baby's head was out and I had to push like a mofo to get her out in 1 contraction because her heart rate was plumetting.
I fainted twice, had a panic attack, and never got to have my epidural despite asking at 4cm. The guy arrived just as I pushed her out
I had this disbelief my entire pregnancy like none of it was real, but when they put her on my belly I had 9 months of emotion and love flood me all at once. It was like a movie. She weighed 5lbs 1 oz, and was about 19 1/2inches we think. They don't measure them in our hospital for some reason.
***and a fun TMI PSA: If you're going for an induction you'll likely be wired up the whole time... try for the love of god to go for a number 2 before they break your waters... I ended up getting unhooked after a lot of back and forth and refusing to go in the bedpan... not flattering***
sorry huge photos but can't figure out how to make it smaller :/
Just home from hospital
Crazy strong lady holds her head up for ages and can push off with her feet. And has super sexy baby acne
