Married 10/10/10! TTC Baby #1 since April 2014 BFP Oct 16 - EP terminated Nov 6 2014 Off the Bench January 2015! BFP #2 June 1 2015 - EDD Feb 12 2016! Baby Boy born 15th February 2016!
Looks like the past few weeks of shitty sleep has finally caught up to DS. He was so irritable all day yesterday so I put him to bed early. Ended up sleeping from 540pm-545am, fed from 6-620am, back to sleep 630am-715am and first nap started at 9 and still ongoing. Holy smokes. I hope he's not coming down with something.
DH and I were talking about going to Buenos Aires for Thanksgiving weekend. We've been wanting to go for a while but then life happened. My only reservation is that DS has been going to bed early lately and requires pitch black to sleep so I'm not sure how well that would work out at night in the hotel, unless we can find some kind of suite or something. OTOH, that is almost 2 months away so maybe he'll be able to stay up a bit later by then.
trtlcrzy, read the update on your nephew on the other page. Sending good vibes to your family.

Sending all good thoughts to baby O! I've heard great things about the hospital where he is. He's such a little fighter- he'll have great "Never Have I Ever"s when he's grown up
My neighbor gave me her presale pass to another consignment sale. We don't really need anything, but maybe I'll go anyways. I need to get a new phone today. The stupid new update combined with my dying home button makes it so I wouldn't really be able to use my phone in an emergency. Time to switch. That's all I've got.. and lots of work I need to get done by tonight. Here's to hoping for naps!
auchick913, that sounds like a nice trip! We bring our sound machine everywhere we go overnight for this purpose. Don't most hotels usually have black out curtains? Maybe you could call ahead and request a room on the darkest side of their building?
rivers and roads, I was thinking more along the lines of ... if DS goes to bed at say, 6 pm and DH and I don't go to bed until 10 pm, that's a lot of time to spend in the dark if we're all in the same room. Not to mention, what happens for dinner... room service?

Oooo duh. I wasn't thinking of that. Yes, a suite would probably be your better option! Or a big closet (kind of kidding, but not. X slept in the closet at my sister's because we couldn't get it dark enough).
One of you could leave to pick up dinner and bring it back?

Are you all planning to TTC in the following 6mo from your trip? Zika is scary, yo.

This kid has slept in a closet on several occasions. Whatever works.

lolz, I don't see that happening anytime soon! DS is too much for me right now.
Hi guys! We are on the road to Omaha right now. We should be there in about an hour. Both girls have been sleeping most of the drive. We are going to CFA for lunch because we don't have one close and I want it. Then to the zoo and outlets!

It's parents weekend on campus, so navigating to work is a pain in the ass today. It's also chilly and rainy, so I would much rather be curled up on the couch reading or at home playing with the kids. TGIF at least.
We legit had some snow fall today. Melted by the time it hit the ground but noticeable snowflakes anyway.
DD tried grilled cheese today at lunch. She ate it very carefully so that she didn't drop any in her lap! I cut a stick of grilled cheese off and dipped it in tomato soup, then cup it all up into tiny pieces.
DD is trying so hard to crawl forward, finally after being on her hands and knees for awhile now. If she doesn't have it mastered by the end of the day she'll be doing a clean crawl by the end of the weekend for sure.
I'm being SO lazy today. DS still has an insanely runny nose so I decided to call off all plans and stay home for a rest day. Let him watch curious George movies and veg on couch with soup and juice. Hopefully he will be better for this weekend! Now both kids are napping so I'm watching game of thrones (first episode!) and folding laundry. Full of excitement over here.
PSA for mamas who have babies who are meh on purees: rather than waste a bunch (L will only eat a tiny bit of a container or pouch) freeze the leftovers in tiny dots on wax paper. Then give as a self feeding snack. We did this for DS and I totally forgot until a couple days ago. L just ate so many frozen dots! So fun a little sticky if she decides to squeeze them but honestly not messier than feeding from a bowl.
H is home for another week from work. He went back to the doctor today. I just want him to get better, for both his sake, and for selfish reasons. He's been playing a lot of video games. Therefore hogging the TV. That probably makes me sound like a bitch lol. Luckily he and the doctor filled out the necessary paperwork for his work, and he'll still get paid. But I still want him to get better soon. Hopefully this round of antibiotics works.
I'm feeling so blah about pumping. 8 months of mostly EPing, so that's good. Not quite ready to quit yet, but just feeling over it.
I normally bring two 9oz bottles to work to put my pumped milk in.
I forgot one this morning, and then dropped and broke my one remaining one (fortunately before I poured milk in it).
DD's milk is going in my contigo travel mug. Lol.
You do glass bottles I assume. Do they break easily and you go through a lot?
They are much hardier than I feared.
I've had the same two glass bottles since DS for my pumped milk - I've broke them both in the last month or so. So they lasted for 2 years of solid pumping. Not bad!
We do glass bottles for DD's milk at school - we've lost two in the last seven months. Not too shabby either.

What is CFA?
Chick-fil-a. And I totally forgot to tell DH to get me a frozen lemonade so I didn't get one!
I have had a very, very long day. The drive down was fine. We stopped at CFA and ate, after eating H played in the play area for a little while and I somehow got her to come out without a huge fight/fit. The zoo was awesome! They made a whole new exhibit, which they were working on last year when we went, and it's soooo cool! We definitely will have to go back early next summer when it's warm out. Some of the animals were already off because of the weather. The drive home has been another story entirely. S screamed for a long time while we got to a place we could pull over. I jumped into the back seat and sat in the tiny center seat between the carseats. Luckily My hips aren't any wider because I wouldn't have fit. After we pulled over I fed her and then as soon as she was back in her seat she was screaming again. We drove a little further to a gas station/fast food area and I fed her while DH filled up the car. She screamed a bit when she got into her seat initially but quieted down and fell asleep. It breaks my heart when she cries like that. We have about an hour left in our drive home and I'm so exhausted I will probably fall asleep shortly after we get home. Also, I don't think my pelvis is all the way back to normal because I was having some pain in it towards the end of our time at the zoo.
Also, baby O and my sister made it safely to Denver this morning. The surgeons want his swelling to go down more before they do surgery so it's not going to be early next week like originally thought.
trtlcrzy hope the rest of your drive goes smoothly! How is your sister doing with everything? Do they have accommodations and everything they need in Denver? Are they staying at a Ronald McDonald house or something? She has other children right? How are they all doing?

Tomorrow is our 5 year wedding anniversary. MIL is watching the kids and H and I are going out of town to the nearest city to spend the day. We'll go out to eat, shop, or whatever. I planned to do this so that we could be home for bedtime, and it would give us more time together rather than just going out to dinner here in town. I still am not quite ready to not be home for bedtime. But, H asked me today if we want to go to the college hockey game since we'll be there, his family always has tickets. So we're going to go, I know the kids (mainly DD) will end up being fine. We probably won't get home until 11pm or so.
I got all of our stuff ready for tomorrow (bottles and food ready for DD). We'll be leaving mid morning. I'm excited for a day away with H! Of course I'll have to drag my pump and a cooler along...

She is staying with O tonight and my BIL is staying at the Ronald McDonald house, which is apparently not right next to the hospital they are at so it's a little drive to get there. CMN is great and has given them vouchers for meals at the hospital here, I'm pretty sure they are doing the same there. We have some relatives in the area that have offered to go sit with her and help out if needed. She has 2 bigger kids and the girl that has been watching them is bringing them to Denver to see them this weekend. She hasn't seen them in person in 2 weeks. Last she told me her 2 year old is missing her and BIL quite a bit. I think school is helping keep her 7 year old busy. This is the longest she's been away from either of them.

That would be so hard. I'm glad they will be reunited for a bit. Hopefully he gets his surgery done soon and is able to move closer and they can all be together soon!

trtlcrzy I've been following the story and haven't been able to give support as much as I would like but just wanted to say I'm thinking of your family and keeping the little one in my prayers
