I have a job interview in an hour, and I'm not sure I should even be going, due to the fact that I have no child care lined up and not sure I can find child care that would work with my husband's new schedule.
And my dd1 cried about her not wanting me to work.
I did this yesterday, and now I only see a few pro-HRC comments from my cousins and SIL, and nothing about Trump. It's glorious!
Too bad there are only about four people left on my timeline...
So much this. It's like a new person every day is sharing a dumb article. I'm ignoring for now and avoiding facebook. Getting pissed off and wondering why these people I otherwise like are sharing these things isn't a great way to start the day though
Back to reality today. Sitting at a Panera working until a meeting I have at 11. Hoping to stretch this so I don't have to go into the office at all today.
Trying to post more. Not much on the docket today. Errands and swimming class for DD tonight. Need to make crockpot lasagna for dinner tonight.
Trying to decipher what Halloween costume to get for my 2.5 year old when she changes her mind almost daily on what she wants to be. Also, I don't think she 100% understands what trick or treating will be.
well, one post is more than you had before, which was zero.
Another day at work for me. I love my job but I have not been 'feeling' it for about three weeks now. I'm can't figure out why my energy has fizzled out. I also need to borrow some of the energy some of you ladies have. Just send that energy right on over please.
I tested out the Thermomix yesterday and I'm kind of in love with it.
@bruxannie it would be perfect for you! It does everything a normal kitchen machine does (whip/grind/mix/etc) plus more (steam, weigh, cook) but it also basically helps you cook a whole meal if you want. It has a computer chip and its own cook books and you can follow a recipe step by step with so little work just following cues on its monitor. It tells you the next step to do, and automatically weighs the food so you don't need any measuring cups or anything like that. Yesterday I made Mediterranean turkey roulade with steamed veggies, and a herb sauce. I only needed the Thermomix to do it (no additional pots or pans) and it was so easy. A huge time saver. It is kind of ridiculously expensive but I think it will help me get a healthy dinner on the table more often plus it takes the place of so many other kitchen machines. Of course you can't do everything with it but so so much.
Tonight I'm doing beef goulash with cheese dumplings with it and tomorrow Germknödel (an Austrian dumpling filled with plum sauce). I'm excited to see if the next recipes turn out as well as the first one.
This sounds amazing! However a little googling tells me I'll have to sell my child to pay for one which seems counterintuitive. At that point, I would have much more free time to plan meals.

It looks like you've had this interview scheduled for a week. If you're not going to go, then call them and let them know so you're not wasting people's time.

I mean... wut.
To the first part, what kind of shit planning is it to not have childcare lined up for a job interview? Do you normally line up childcare within 45 minutes of needing it?
I understood this more as childcare lined up for working, i.e. once she has the job. However, I agree about not wasting people's time and going to the interview. Plus, the interview may make your decision easier.

My husband and I recently moved and both had been looking for employment. He literally accepted an offer two days ago; I set up the job interview late last week unbeknownst to me about his job offer. Unfortunately, he will be working shift work, and the job I'm interviewing for shift will end after the daycare closes. I'm not sure if I should have canceled the interview?

I finally have a dentist appointment today. I have to take the kids to H after work and then try to escape before the parking lot runs over. That will be around 2:30. My appointment is at 4 and it will take me less than 30 minutes after I drop them off. I'm bringing my kindle. It will be amazing!

in that case, I would go through with the interview but also talk about this early in the interview process. The company may have other positions or other shift options that they could offer you now or in the future if you have a good interview.

Yup
Maybe I should have. There's a small chance I'll get offered an earlier shift, so I'm kind of holding out for that. Also, my husband's job offer came in on the weekend. The place I'm interviewing for isn't open on the weekend. I didn't want to call and cancel an hour before my interview. Anyways, I'll hold out some hope.

He didn't tell you that he accepted the job?
Of course he did. But I wasn't aware that would have a job offer at the time I accepted an interview.

I need to watch videos on the Thermomix. I initially thought it was $3,000 but I was looking at some other country's dollars, I guess. Seems like it's $1,200.
So it's the Thermomix or the Disco Bag for 2017. Decisions, decisions.

I feel like 1200 isn't insane for a machine that runs my life.

I know! Plus I was psyching myself up to ask H for a $3k machine, so $1,200 feels like a steal.
