I'm on cup of coffee number two and got the laundry started. I have an ultrasound later this morning. They weren't able to see everything at my a/s last week. I'm happy to get to see him again so soon .

My in laws are in town, my husband is working crazy hours and my kitchen was gutted yesterday for an entire remodel. I really need to get up, pump, dress, wash bottles, etc... but the baby is asleep on my chest. So, I'm ignoring all the other stressful shit.

DH dropped L at school and took B for a dog walk. I don't want to push it but I'm hoping he's prepared to do all the parenting today.

Currently snuggled under my covers, partly dreading work this afternoon and partly glad I'll be out of the house.

How do you tell your boss you won't be coming back after having the baby? We have a close relationship so it makes me feel extra guilty and like I'm letting her down. I feel weird about it.

On the other hand, give me a nice raise so I can stay and actually afford day care for my two kids dammit!

Dh is off today because we are taking the kids the dentist and hitting some stores. FFC- I almost wish he was at work. Sometimes he makes things harder than they should be. Not everything has to be a fight, and you can't reason with 3 year olds.

Took the kids to school. It's only 32 degrees so I had to dig out the warmer coats.
And it's snack day so I can to carry apples, milk and cheese, a backpack and two coats while a 3 year old trailed behind me screaming because I "wouldn't carry him"

We need to board our dog this week and the only place I know of around here that can get her this weekend requires an "interview". So I'm going to a daycare interview for my dog this morning. Maybe I should have bought her a new collar or something to try to impress them

My 16 month old has been "hitting/slapping" when he gets super hyped up and trying to play. Time outs/redirecting etc are a reg in our house. I just dropped him off at the babysitter and asked if he has been hitting her and she said "Not me, but the other kids. And he snatches their toys away."

Super stoked to have the jerk kid at the babysitters....

She was super nonchalant about it and said that he's just learning how to play with the older ones but damn. The hitter. Kewl... not.

Does your vet do boarding?

Yes, but they were booked this weekend. They recommended a similar place (that requires interview) but it's on the other side of town from us. Since these are open play places I get it but it also feels so NY pre-school to me, to have to bring her in for an "interview". Literally what they call it.

@bruxannie it would be perfect for you! It does everything a normal kitchen machine does (whip/grind/mix/etc) plus more (steam,weigh,cook) but it also basically helps you cook a whole meal if you want. It has a computer chip and its own cook books and you can follow a recipe step by step with so little work just following cues on its monitor. It tells you the next step to do, and automatically weighs the food so you don't need any measuring cups or anything like that. Yesterday I made Mediterranean turkey roulade with steamed veggies, and a herb sauce. I only needed the Thermomix to do it (no additional pots or pans) and it was so easy. A huge time saver. It is kind of ridiculously expensive but I think it will help me get a healthy dinner on the table more often plus it takes the place of so many other kitchen machines. Of course you can't do everything with it but so so much.

Tonight I'm doing beef goulash with cheese dumplings with it and tomorrow Germknödel (an Austrian dumpling filled with plum sauce). I'm excited to see if the next recipes turn out as well as the first one.

Probably not. She was very up front about the money aspect when I took the job. I was able to bring in more money teaching lessons the first two years I was there but it was adding 10-15 hours to my 40 hour work week. I could not maintain that schedule after having DD.  She did give me a one dollar raise when I came back after having her. It's just not enough.

I'm in screaming child hell. The baby is teething molars and eye teeth, so he hasn't slept well in days... which means I haven't slept more than two hours in days. The preschoolers are at each other's throats this morning because it's cold and rainy, so they can't go outside.

I may actually die before h gets home from work.

Trying to decipher what Halloween costume to get for my 2.5 year old when she changes her mind almost daily on what she wants to be. Also, I don't think she 100% understands what trick or treating will be.

My mom and H work in the at industry through a tractor company. People don't realize how much they love their jobs but when farmers aren't getting paid a living wage it tanks their business and then there are fears of layoffs. H actually told me last night they are probably cutting his hours for winter already.
