Dh is traveling for work and our childcare (my mom) is still out of commission. Thank God for family being willing to step in and help us out and a flexible workplace. I went in late and left early to take ds to food therapy. Home now with a tired toddler and a sleeping baby. Hoping for an uneventful dinner and bed time!
My BFF had her third baby yesterday. He's having some trouble breathing on his own despite being full term so he's in the NICU and they may have to bump him up from nasal cannula to CPAP. He also has a heart murmur so they're waiting on the results of an EKG and echocardiogram. I feel so bad for her, she's had rough deliveries with all three of her kids but this is the first time she's had a baby in the NICU. Hoping that he can go home with her when she gets discharged in a few days.
Had a crap day here. DD was a pain all day and DS would barely nap at all, which is unlike him. I'm currently having a beer. We're doing story time tomorrow and a play date after.
UO: I really hate story time. The books the lady reads to a group of 2-3year olds are wayyy too long. And they always have a craft that I have to do the majority of. I only go because it's a way to get out of the house. Hopefully they become more fun.
I get irrationally mad when inappropriate books are read at storytime or some other toddler activity. It's a total waste of time, and I don't know how it happens bc there are a million appropriate, enjoyable books that would appeal to the 2-4 age range.
