I'm not overly concerned that my kid doesn't care for veggies or most meats and if it takes me feeding him fast food chicken nuggets every other day for him to eat meat, so be it. He'll survive.
*Yes I know it's not a healthy habit, but he's not overweight and is quite active.

And we're team TV is on most of the day. N doesn't sit and watch it except when he's drinking his milk before sleep times, but even then it's only 10 minutes. I just need the background noise and occasional kid distractor.

This is more of a FFTC but we are with portuguesemama, on the TV. I pray he will watch it and be occupied by it for 10 minutes at a time.
Also confession - we introduced him to an Ipad. He has learning app games on it and my goal is to get him to be amazed by it so he will learn to sit down and slow down for 15 minutes. Also because we will be travelling on an airplane again soon and the the thought of trying to contain him on my lap shares the shit out of me.

We're mommy twins with two crazy boys! We have a few Fisher Price apps and a few flash card apps that show the picture, word, and say the word. I'm trying everything in my power to get this kid to talk. Haha.

And I'm just waiting for the person that's going to tell me that the TV and iPad/phone use are the reason my kid doesn't talk... hence the mommy guilt breakdown last night.
DC plays a Sesame Street DVD and I'm OK with it, despite them saying at Orientation that the kids will never watch television. M has learned who Elmo is and can say his name. So, she's learning. I'll take it.

TV is on here and at my parents and mil. E loves Mickey, chicka and is learning some.
E has a duplo train game on my phone, tablet and my moms phone. She knows how to find and start it herself. Also on my tablet she has flash card games and an annoying song game.
N will walk around with my phone sometimes and pretend to use it/call people. Not trying to show her games or apps. We rarely ever even have the TV on when she's up.
This is not because I'm all ELECTRONICS R EVIL. It's just not our lifestyle. BUT, I also honestly don't want it to become a norm. Like, apps and TV are just one option out of all the things. They exist, sometimes we use them.
I do not care about Christmas cards. Like, at all. Or any cards for that matter. They always end up in the trash and I feel guilty for it, but WTF else am I supposed to do with them? To send them myself, so much work + money. Maybe I'm lazy/missing the point.

I don't get the growing tradition of going all out wild for a bacheloretee/bachelor party. Like the whole weekend in vegas or week in Mexico. I mean I get hanging out with a bunch of your close girl friends as a last hurrah or sendoff before getting married but it just seems to get more and more out of control
I get uncomfortable when women announce a pregnancy before 12 weeks. Do you, but I don't agree with announcing so early.
I realize this feeds the terrible, secret world of miscarriages, which is when women need the most support. But it's how I feel.
I don't agree with you. When I miscarried,I hadn't announced to anyone and felt so isolated and alone in my grief. With the boys, I announced really soon and same with this pregnancy.
I'm having trouble wondering why something someone else chooses to do bugs you? Not trying be mean, just curious..

Methinks the big deal parties are for younger people. The older you are when you marry, the tamer the bachelorette. I went to plenty of crazy weekend trips with strippers and tons of alcohol and craziness (including cheating brides!) When I finally got hitched, we went to a fanceh dinner that cost a butt load and drank expensive wine lol
babys2015 It doesn't bug me, per se. It makes me nervous. I've known several people who announced really, really early... some before even seeing a doctor... and then having to make another announcement about the loss and/or chemical pregnancy.
I don't yell at anyone about it, because I'm not a bitch. I just hold my breath until a certain part of pregnancy is reached. I guess I'm just projecting my anxiety over early losses.
ETA: I'm totally on board with sharing with close family and friends at an early stage. It's the grand social media announcements that make me cringe.

I think it is b's. I applied for food stamps to try and help while out of work. I have a phone interview tomorrow and they wanted a bunch of forms filled out before the interview. All stuff I could not get.
If I am an immigrant I would have gotten the benefits no questions asked as soon as i applied it would have been approved. This is what is wrong with america.

Actually, no. Immigrants have to fill out the same forms you do. There is no special "immigrant" status when it comes to WIC.
ETA I collected unemployment and got food stamps while I was pregnant with Jo.

Not in pa at least. The paperwork I received the top thing for getting more eyes asap is being an imigrant.
I cuss in front of my kids and don't really care. I mean, I don't care about being careful about it. Typically it's shit or damnit, sometimes I'll drop the f-bomb. I guess I grew up with my dad cursing and the law was laid that I was not to curse. So I do now.

rvamama we also are kinda potty mouths over here. My parents were very strict on disrespectful swearing so we know to not use language in a hateful way. I'm fine if my kids adapt that philosophy also

Yes, more eyes. But until you get a SSN# it's not happening. And I think we all know how long that takes for the child of legal citizens. Now imagine the ENTIRE FAMILY has to go through that process.
