Not in pa at least. The paperwork I received the top thing for getting more eyes asap is being an imigrant.
Yes, more eyes. But until you get a SSN# it's not happening. And I think we all know how long that takes for the child of legal citizens. Now imagine the ENTIRE FAMILY has to go through that process.
The statement "this is what's wrong with America" feels icky to me, but I don't know enough about this process to really comment.

Sorry, immigration is my hill to die on. People come here to get a better life and many work much, much harder than we do doing jobs we turn our noses up at. I deal with the children of immigrants everyday. Do you know who shows up at PTA meetings? Hispanic parents that don't understand anything that is being said, but they are supporting their kids and that's all that matters. I deal with kids that don't speak English, kids that poop on the playground because they are so scared to talk to white people they won't ask to go to the bathroom, 10 year olds that are homeless because their parents have been deported and they have nowhere to sleep. It's heartbreaking.
Actually, no. Immigrants have to fill out the same forms you do. There is no special "immigrant" status when it comes to WIC.
ETA I collected unemployment and got food stamps while I was pregnant with Jo.

I'm having a hard time with this one too. I'm in PA too. I filed for unemployment online when my company closed last year and had paperwork within a week or 10 days I think.
I'm married to an immigrant. He is naturalized just recently. If anything, that's more hoops to jump through.
Definitely not what's wrong with America. Every single one of us have an immigrant to thank for bringing us here - yea, I went there.
But seriously - being an immigrant, whether legal or illegal, and trying to get help from our government isn't all roses and unicorns. Your thought process is definitely wrong there.
I was a cashier at a grocery store back in the day and the majority of folks with WIC were very embarrassed. I had folks slyly slide their Access cards for fear of someone seeing and going on a food stamp rant. That job was eye opening, in regard to WIC and food stamps. Not one person made me feel like it was being abused and like they were getting away with something. They all legit needed that assistance.

maddisonrose i agree but i still wish i had an all out crazy bachlorette party. I was barely 21 when we got married and all my girl friends were still 20. Young and broke, we partied in a hotel room. I think this is why i want DH to go all out in vegas with me one anniversary and get "hitched" (renew our vows) infront of Elvis, or in a chapel of horror in some cheesy ass costumes. Haha. Let me pretend to be wild for one night

ruemorgan you totally need an over the top night of wild partying!! I guess more of my issue is coming from a current gf of mine needing to go away for a weekend and cross off as many wild things as possible.
sjep922 Oh! That's interesting. Where were you born? You don't have to tell me, if you don't want to. Just curious!
ruemorgan If we get some "no" RSVPs, I'll be sneaking in my M15 ladies!
England. Other than my parents and my brother, the rest of our family still lives there!
Oh! Very cool. My grandparents had family from the UK come over to research our family tree. I was young when they came. I wish I knew what came of that visit!

We had a bachelor/bachelorette cruise! The girls and guys stayed on separate sides of the ship, but of course we would run into them. It was the most awesome drunken shit show ever!!! There was 18 of us.
