So we still don't know the sex of this baby yet but I had a mild panic attack yesterday when I realized I didn't love the name I had agreed to. Background: DS is Reed Alden. Both names are family names on my side so I made a deal with DH that he would be able to name this baby something that had great meaning to him. His original name choice was Sullivan Robert. I had thought Sullivan was a family name and he didn't correct me. It's not and I am not liking it. DH is a little mad but he understands that this name wasn't feeling right to me.
Here is our new list but nothing is striking me as the ONE. Please feel free play keep, toss, add. We like uncommon but traditional names. I'm dutch and DH is Irish so anything with those roots is a bonus! LN is Irish starting with G. Names DH vetoed. Graeme, Hugo, Brooks, Pierce, Matthias, Johan, Tobias. Our girl name choice is Juliet Adelaide or Juliet Vera (both MNs are family names).
Theodore - probably my favorite
Robert - FIL and Grandpa IL's name but FIL doesn't want us to use it.
Elliot - DH's grandma's maiden name. I don't like the lack of NNs but she was important to him. DH doesn't like the actual name but wants to honor grandma
Colin- feeling like our back up school
Thomas- same
Flynn- actually we both like this and I like that my BFF and sister are Lynn and Lyn, it feels like a small part of it is for them. Not sure how it sounds with Reed.
Alexander- like it but know a few douchey guys named Alex. Xander is a little trendy to us. Maybe Alec as NN?
Seamus- DH's favorite Irish name but my Dutch mother hates it. We now live in the south so not sure if people where would have a problem pronouncing it.
Thank you all so much!
