I just made dairy-free egg-free chocolate chip oatmeal zucchini cookies. They are super good and I am hoping that they help keep my supply up while I am away from S.

that sounds yummy! Did you have a recipe or make it up on your own?
We have my BFF's oldest here for the weekend to give my BFF a break and let her concentrate on her DS in the NICU. It's crazy but good and we are surviving with 3 kids in the house. The baby had a rough day though. Lots of crying. I think she has another cold and is also hitting the 3 month growth spurt all at the same time. She's been stuck to me like glue today. Thank god for babywearing.
DH made me get up with him this morning. I feel like crap, migraine , and slept crappily.
Today DS is 3 months. We will take pictures, weigh, and measure him. Then we will also take pictures of the little bear and a candle for pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day.
Also going to Michaels to get a board to put "An unopened door is a happy door." - Moss Going on our door because I'm about to start murdering political people who keep coming to our door waking W up.
H hung up a sign recently that says "No soliciting. Sleeping Twins. Do not Knock"
Sounds like I picked the right profession. I would hate having to figure out a professional wardrobe. #scrubsforthewin
My last school was suuuuuper casual whereas my new one is very much the opposite (even casual Friday's are "golf course" casual) with a very young, trendy, staff.
So I'd need to buy new, more professional clothing any au I guess even if my old stuff fit, and I figured I'd try this whole looking good thing while I'm at it lol.
Wish me luck lol one of the blogs said: define your current "style uniform" in one word" and I was like .....sweats? Lol

I loosely followed my favorite oatmeal cookie recipe and added a cup of zucchini and a cup of dairy-free chocolate chips. The recipe calls for yogurt but since I can't use that I used zucchini in its place to make them moist and instead of eggs I used 2 flax "eggs" (basically just water and ground flax seed).
Hey ladies, it's been a while! I'll be on more in about a week once I go back to work, I've just been trying to really soak in my final moments of leave with Sam. We're driving out to my mom's this afternoon and she's going to watch him while H and I have a day date. We're seeing Girl on the Train (read the book and loved it so I'm excited!) and then might grab a bite to eat afterwards. It should be fun!
@tayschicky have you ever shopped at Ricki's? Often in the fitting rooms they have a picture of ten items that can be combined in different ways to make ten different outfits. Might be a good place to start!
I'm also intrigued by the capsule wardrobe. I'm sort of getting there, before I got pregnant I had two pairs of work pants, two pairs of jeans, two dresses... partly me being cheap and partly the lack of space to store a ton of clothes. And I no longer give a shit about wearing the same outfit twice in the same week.
Not in a while (haven't really shopped in general in a while) but we do have one nearby.
I'll be going to the city in two weeks and should have all kinds of options then!
Tricky part for me is that I'm not a fan of dresses or skirts because I'm mentally uncomfortable in them/don't like having to be aware of my crotch when sitting/playing on the carpet with kids lol. Pants are just easier/more carefree for me lol but almost every capsule wardrobe I see has a couple skirts/dresses.
I'm wondering if I just wear leggings id feel comfortable in a dress? I don't really see many other bottom options since I can only wear denim fri/sat/sun.
Maybe cords? Kakis? Oy vey.
You can probably swap out the dresses from the capsule wardrobe and add more pants/shirts if that's what you wear more often. Reitmans has some great work pants, they're my go-to. And often they have great sales. I was in there a couple of weeks ago and they had some skinny-leg work pants that I really liked!
I hear you on the dress thing. When I became a teacher, my little cousin told me "don't wear a skirt and step over the kids!". So I never wear dresses/skirts!
ETA these are some of the pants I like. Reitmans has a 40% off sale going on but it ends today.

I went back to work this week & I'm dying. There was no easing back in..just jumping in head first. 55 hours later and I'm beat. Plus I managed to pick up a head cold somewhere along the way, ughhhhh. On top of everything H has had to work nights the whole week so after a full work day I get to come home & solo parent. I plan on doing nothing today!
Ray, there's a capsule wardrobe thread with some good tips on Parenting.

For all of you saying you don't know fashion...I just had to Google what a capsule wardrobe is. Clearly super fashionable. With that being said, I'm currently bouncing between 3 pairs of patterned leggings and about 6 tops because that's all that fits me well ATM. So you know, basically a capsule wardrobe 😂

I resisted chambray shirts as maybe too basic or trendy for a while but got one last year. Now I have three (more fitted, long baggy darker, baggy lighter). They're very versatile and use them a lot and mine are just old Navy and target shirts. I'm not revolutionizing fashion in them but I recommend for versatility.

+1. I had never heard of a capsule wardrobe before. Clearly styling over here.
Omg. I just had a garage sale and cleaned out the entire garage. Made $250 bucks. I came inside and all hell has broken loose in my house. H was in over his head with both boys. My big kid just fell asleep for his nap....its 3:30 here. WTH dude??

icaughtfire I hope you got your day of doing nothing. That sounds like a really rough first week. I worked + evening solo parented a ton with one kid and I can't imagine doing it with two.

Glad to see you back! Enjoy your last week
We are missing a few others too... anyone know what happened to ginabini and harlowjune? Who else hasn't been around lately?

Yay for $250 and a clean garage!
Not so much for the H's solo parenting skills
I basically only came inside to feed B, so he was "alone" most of the day. I forget that he isn't use to having them both by himself. He did okay, everyone was fine but off schedule!

I just got back from an emergency meeting at work. We've had 6 inmates overdose recently and one on Friday died. So we are going into emergency protocols. My boss is on vacation this week and left me in charge so yay me for handling the facility emergency for the medical department.
On the plus side they seem to have found the employees that have been trafficking the drugs in. They will probably face murder charges when everything is said and done.

A is doing better but still so, so congested. Thank goodness for the Nose Frida. Last night we put him in the RNP to sleep so his head was elevated. It worked great. Hopefully we can replicate tonight. I am going to have to call for a doctor appointment myself, though. A couple of months ago I stubbed my toe on A's changing table. It never stopped hurting and in the last couple weeks it's been bright red and so tender. I'm guessing I have an ingrown nail. Scared at the idea of any kind of procedural treatment. 😧
Holy crap housecarder! I'm gaiety that all that has been happening but I'm glad they fold the people. I can't believe employees would be dumb enough to do that.

You'd be surprised at what employees are willing to risk. It's stupid.
