We switched to pampers baby dry after the first 2 weeks with our heavy wetter. We also cloth diaper part-time, and they are 100% better for preventing the poosplosions

Following! I was just about to ask about a good overnight diaper. LO is far from sleeping through the night, but she peed so much in 3 hours the other night that she soaked herself, me, and the sheets. We just use pampers swaddlers and I haven't tried anything else.

We started with pampers swaddlers and when he started to leak out of the legs of size 2, I bought size 3 huggies at Costco. Big mistake. Huge. Apparently the seat of huggies is too narrow. We've never had pee leaks but oh my word the leaky poo legs.
I've started using pampers baby dry in size 3 (he's 4.5 months and about 15lbs). This lets us get them tight enough in the waist and high enough in the back to keep everything contained at night, and he is full but not overloaded and feeling wet. The only leaks I have had lately weren't even leaks but the crazy shit-storms that go up the back to the shoulder blades. There's nothing that would contain that mess.

i think the key at night is to go up a size in disposables if he is going that long without a change. you could try the baby dry one size up, that might work well.
i do find specific diaper recs to be taken with a grain of salt because a lot of it depends on the shape of your baby. so for some people huggies are the bomb, others despise them, that kind of thing, depending on whether your LO is long and skinny, short and chunky, skinny waist, big thighs, whatever.

Agreed that diapers are totally depenant on the baby wearing them. I have always used huggies for my first 3 kiddos and this one wears pampers the best. You just have to try them all.

anniebn, we use cloth day and night and absolutely love it. You really do need to find what works for you. We only use prefolds with fleece liners (for DD's wetness sensitivity) and covers which works perfectly for us. We had to use disposables for a few days (DD needed a non cloth diaper safe medicated cream) and we had so many blowouts and leaks. With the cloth, I could count the number on one hand.
If you do look into cloth and only plan on using cloth part time, keep a few things in mind: -you will still need to wash every 2-3 days to prevent a smell issue -you will need a cloth diaper safe detergent -flats or prefolds and covers will be the least expensive, "All In Ones" (AIOs) will functionally be the most like disposables but are more expensive -If you need extra absorbency, hemp or bamboo doublers are your best bet -The cloth diaper board here has amazing information!
Sorry I can't add anything to the disposable conversation. Good luck & I hope that you find something that works for you & your LO soon!
We use a variety of cloth diapers but the Pampers overnight (12 hr) disposable for bedtime. I haven't worked up the motivation to use the nighttime cloth ones MIL bought us. Anyways, those disposables hold a lot of liquid!
We use Earth's Best and Naty during the day but I finally had to get some Pampers Baby Dry for overnight. DS nurses a ton overnight so he wakes up soaked even when I tried going up a size in our daytime diapers. He's only wet through the Pampers once in the last week since we switched. When this pack runs out I may get the Pampers extended wear ones just for a bit more protection - I forget what they're called.

We use Pampers baby dry at night and a size up. Some of the ladies here recommended that combo and it has worked wonderfully. My LO was peeing so much the beads were exploding out the top of his diaper.

My girls have worn Huggies wuthout a problem. I find that when the diapers start leaking over night going up a size works best. Huggies also makes an overnight diaper that works well for us.
