Happy half birthday, swivelchair5! Today is my H's birthday. I hope they bring you doughnuts on your delayed commute at least.
We are poorly prepared for H's birthday, so we'll be busy today! I had some awful nightmares last night. Including one where a friend of a friend watched X drown and didn't do anything. I'm glad the debates are done. I think they amp me up and screw with my mind.

Sick household is just delightful. Dh is clearly the sickest with a man cold, Ryan is whiney and obviously I'm supposed to put aside that I feel like crap and just want to sleep in order to wait on them! MEN!

Morning! I am watching my almost 5 year old nephew for the day. When my sister picks him up after work she's taking H for the night! I'm so excited for a toddler free evening and night.
We've been trying a sippy cup lately. He doesn't quite get it yet. He does great with the transition ones, where the nipple is like the nipple on a bottle. But these are the harder plastic kind where you have to suck the milk out. It's hilarious watching him try to figure this out.

DD is still on transition bottles too. I think she gets the concept, but every time I give her a sippy cup she ends up soaking wet.

My DD1 didn't learn how to use the hard sippy cups until she was like a year and a half. The bite proof munchkin cups were my favorites
I took the kids shopping this morning. I really need to get some new pants but I'll wait until H is off again so I can go kid free.
I got more Halloween candy. I'm hoping to have leftovers lol And I bought a pumpkin carving kit.
When we got home, I carved our pumpkin. I was hoping DD would help but she seemed grossed out by the guts lol. She was intrigued when I started carving the design though.
Last night he slept better than he has in like 2 weeks, I think his cold/teething is easing. Though now he likes to scream for a minute when I put him down.
I re injured my back yesterday evening. F this. So annoyed with myself. I can barely walk and had to take the night off work. So I'm home without kids and can't even enjoy it. On the plus side, I have 4 episodes of This is Us on the DVR. Just started! How did nobody mention that Jess is in this?!? In the first scene?!?

That's awful, I'm sorry
Yes Jess!
Beardy Jess, which isn't totally my thing. But older so I don't feel quite so skeevy thinking bad thoughts
I just bought tickets for fantastic beasts and where to find them! I'm a big HP fan and have been excited about this movie for a long time.
So exciting!! DH and I are going over the Thanksgiving holidays when we have ILs around to watch the kids. I'm thrilled! It's our first post DD "date".
My uncle and his wife just had their baby this morning. (Yes, sounds odd, but remember my dad had me really young, and she's quite a bit younger than my uncle. He's 46, she's 34.. I think. It does seem weird to have a brand new cousin at 28 though, lol. ) Sounds like there were some complications with the cord that required an emergency c-section, but my aunt is doing fine and so is baby girl. They don't want visitors for a couple days of course, but she's there until Monday and they're open for visitors on Saturday. We will be up there for other things this weekend. However, babies are walking germfests, so I probably shouldn't go with my kid, right? What is the protocol on these things?
I'm sorry leahks77, what did you find out at the doctor appt yesterday?
Ugh that I'm in worse shape than I thought. I didn't even realize how limited my movement in my left hip was until she checked me. So they did X-rays, I have orders for PT for a month, and meds. However it was feeling so much better yesterday afternoon that I was so encouraged! And then something happened again. It took me 15 mins to get off the floor it's bad. Better today but I can still barely move my left leg. I'm forcing myself to relax, which is hard when there is so much I want to do! But I can't hurt it again.

If he was still small and less mobile I'd say bring him. I brought Ryan to visit my bff and her new baby at hospital at 4.5 months, but now I'd leave him home unless Dh was coming too and could help wrangle. If he has any sort of sniffles or cold I wouldn't go.

I managed a trip to Walmart and winners. I realize of course as I got home that I forgot a few things, but I did get Ryan the trucks I wanted for him at Winners. So happy they still had them.

Do you baby wear?
I might if baby was just going to stay in a carrier. And with a healthy full term baby, I think there are less concerns if you and baby are healthy. I would be most concerned about baby trying to put everything in the hospital in their mouth. Super ewww.
So I would, but only if I wore baby the whole time, everyone was healthy, and the parents were cool with it.

My DH has twin nieces that are 29days younger than him. One niece married a classmate of mine from high school. It's funny calling him my "nephew".
Also, (sorry for taking over the thread today) if I were going to put together a small gift for my aunt, what would you suggest? Particularly for a c-section mama who is very nervous about the breastfeeding journey (two things I know nothing about). TIA!

I had friends bring their babies/toddlers with them to come see me in the hospital both times. As long as they aren't sick (cold included) I wouldn't have a problem with it.

But if you're wearing your baby then you can't hold the new baby!
