I almost wish E wouldn't give me good nights. Had 2 in a row after a week of crappy ones only to be back to crap sleep tonight. I don't like getting my hopes up.
So B keeps rolling on his belly at night. He's much better rolling back to belly Than the other way. It makes me so nervous to see him on his belly. Does anyone have a belly sleeper at night? I feel like he's way too young for this yet.

Mine has been sleeping on his belly for a few weeks. He can roll belly to back, but doesn't very often (seems like he'd rather try to crawl). He has excellent neck strength and head control and usually has his head fully turned to the side when he's sleeping on his belly. I'm less nervous about it now than I was at first, but really, what choice do I have? I'm not about to set an alarm so I can get up and roll him over.

Is he still in the MM suit? Before we got the suit a few weeks ago when we were trying a sleep sack, I found E on his belly. It freaked me out so we got the suit as he wasn't sleeping well in the sleep sack and I didn't want to swaddle anymore. I know once they can roll, there's not much you can do and it's safe, but I personally don't feel comfortable with tummy sleeping now. E can roll, but he's not consistent enough where I feel he'd definitely turn his head to breathe if face down. But I doubt he could roll in the MM suit.

No more MM suit. It did nothing for him so we ditched it. I had to take him out to feed and burp him properly. It was getting ridiculous.
With B's neck issues I'm not confident with his ability to turn his head. He is in PT because he can't turn to one side properly.

I get this. DS1 was a belly sleeper early on.
I guess my real issue is that he can't turn his head to one side (hence why he is in PT). I'm not going to obsess over it, but if I notice he's on his belly I'll definitely go check him.
I wouldn't worry about it melody330. If he can get himself onto his belly then there's nothing you can do that will stop him from doing it. I hope belly sleeping helps him sleep longer!
We tried dropping the swaddle a couple weeks ago and it was a disaster. Then we tried the MM suit and that was even worse so I went back to the miracle blanket for a bit. But she seems really irritated by being swaddled over the past couple nights so we're trying without tonight. I really hope her startle reflex has decreased. She's definitely reaching and grabbing more purposefully/coordinated now so that should be a good sign right?

I was going to be super impressed if he could roll w the MM suit on!
melody330 my girls have been side sleepers forever. No matter what I do they turn so I've released it.
I'm not facing a true sleep regression, just baby colds. They can't breathe through their nose and spit out their pacis and then get mad that they don't have their pacis. They go back to sleep pretty quickly, but I have a harder time falling back to sleep 😴
Well Tappatalk logged me out and I couldn't get back in last night but I think we were up at least 5 or 6 times. I lost count. I ended up sleeping in Irene's room so that I at least didn't have to stumble up and down the stairs. I really hope she gets used to not being swaddled soon.

This was us too. I seriously considered sleeping on the floor in his room.
FX she gets the hang of not being swaddled. B still has a bad startle reflex, and wakes himself up almost every 25 minutes. He can usually put himself back to sleep with minimal fussing.
I think I have just erased all memories of this transition from DD1. Or maybe I was just so sleep deprived I couldn't store any memories lol. Thank God for coffee.
Well she woke up at 8:50 and I didn't rush in to get her and she just complained for a bit and went back to sleep on her own. So given that I think we're already off to a better start than last night. I'm just going to tell myself that so I feel like there is progress.
H came home complaining his stomach hurt and was asleep by 8:00. I can't fall asleep when he is sleeping before me because he snores so damn bad. I made him sleep on the couch, and I don't even care. I refuse to have a broken night sleep AND have to go on the couch. He can deal. Also- he was suppose to try a bottle again tonight so I could get a longer stretch of sleep. Guess that's not happening.
B has been getting up consistently at 10:45, tonight was no exception. FX for a good stretch.
Ugh that's annoying. Hope he's better by tomorrow and that tonight goes well melody330.
Thanks. I know he's actually sick, but I have no sympathy or energy left for him right now. I feel like every weekend something is wrong and I wind up solo parenting much of the weekend. Then he gets pissed at me because I'm not patient enough with him.
Ugh that's really frustrating melody330. Can someone else come help out if he's out of commission this weekend? You deserve a break.
Guess where I am. Swim class. With both boys.
Yes, thankfully my parents are very involved and can help out whenever. My dad will be taking DS1 on a hike this morning so that will be nice.
I am at swim class with both girls!
I totally understand where you're coming from and it's hard. It's OK to complain. My H is also one where he just doesn't function at all when he's sick or very tired. Solo parenting all weekend sucks, and it's even worse when you were looking forward to a break, but then H gets sick and suddenly you're stuck doing everything.
I also try to be understanding but I feel like he doesn't get how hard it is, and it's frustrating because I know I wouldn't get to lay around all weekend unless I was on death's door. Hugs.
