How's everyone today?
DH was running late this morning and didn't have time to make coffee. I didn't realize and came downstairs and poured myself a huge cup of gross cold coffee from last night. That first sip was pretty disappointing! Definitely hit up the drive thru after dropping off DS1.
I tried to do early voting and there were 50+ people in line outside the door. Ugh. I'm kicking myself for missing the deadline to vote by mail. Dd1 does not have school on election day so I'll have both kids and DNW to stand in line for an hour.
I'll have both kids too. I'm going to wear my big kid on my back and put B in the stroller. I hope there isn't a huge line!

Striker here too. Finally got him to eat and pass out after 4.5 hours. On the plus side, A is getting very good at rolling from back to belly! He skipped belly to back and really wants nothing to do with trying that.
Glad I'm not the only one dealing with a distracted baby. She's trying really hard to roll from back to belly (no interest in rolling from belly to back either madamewaffles). She gets so close but hasn't quite figured out what to do with her shoulder once she's basically all the way over so then she ends up flopping back onto her back and gets freaked out. Tiny humans...
Yep we started rolling back to tummy with skipping the front to back and showing negative interest in doing so. That will come I'm sure. Right now she kind of rolls around in a circle lol.

How long do you guys have baby on the floor? I'm thinking M isn't rolling bc he's not on the floor enough? He gets bored quickly if his activity mat and mobile so he's on the floor on his back 15 mins 2x a day or so?
Good news pedi said not to freak out about tummy time, it's more to relieve pressure from his head then a development thing...of course as soon as I chill pn it he starts lifting his neck more!

I can usually squeeze in 10-15 minutes per day, more if we're lucky. I have to be right there beside him fighting off the toddler's and dog's shenanigans!
I wouldn't worry too much about it, some babies don't like tummy time or playing on the floor and you don't want it to become a negative experience. Some babies skip milestones like rolling or crawling and it's totally normal. DS1 hated tummy time so we rarely did it and he's developing on track.
Baby R has made 0 attempts at rolling. She hates the floor and the playmat so most of her tummy time is done on the couch next to me which probably makes rolling harder. She likes to be held and just started to like the Exersaucer. It is how different these babies can be! My 1st went at the play mat like it was an Olympic event and rolled at 8 weeks.

A is an outlier and loves the floor. I make it as entertaining and cozy as I can. I lay down two fleecey blankets and surround him with toys so he always has something to grab at/reach for in every direction. He probably spends 2-3 hours a day (total-like 30 min increments) playing on the floor or on his mat while rolls/spins in circles. I also take off his pants and socks during that time--he LOVES that. He can move more easily and he can do more body discovery that way IMO.

B is on the day probably close to 2 hours per day. Ds1 loves to do tummy time with B and it keeps B entertained for almost a half hour! I just have to careful supervise it. B also loves this piano mat my friend let us borrow. Except now this happens. (Sorry if gigantic- on TT)
I'm pissed. I came home from a run and R had lost it. I asked if he needed me, h said no. I took a 5 minute shower, threw clothes on, raced downstairs to find R with a bottle. So my shower sucked and I now have to pump.

My afternoon was complete shit. When I tried to go to the pumping room at work it was under construction. The workers said it was going to be quite awhile. So I walked down to the security desk and said I needed a room with an outlet to pump in. They immediately suggested the bathroom stalls. I told them no that would not work. 30 minutes later they walked me to a single room bathroom with a lock. I was pissed but it was close to my time to leave and I have to pump before I get in the car. So I sat in a bathroom and put more right next to a toilet.
When I got done I was fuming. I walked right into the head of HR's office and complained. What happened to me was unacceptable and I did not want it to happen to the other 4 women that use the room. He agreees that it was wrong and that there should be a better contingency plan. The construction workers hadn't let anyone know the room was being worked on.

This is my son too. If we are home, he's on the floor mostly except when eating or sleeping. Since we don't have a swing or anything similar for him to go in, the floor became a necessity bc the alternative is me holding him which can't happen all the time. He loves watching his big brother so that keeps him happy and also playing on his mat. He's rolled both ways but more often tummy to back.
We're on the floor all day long, because I try to sit and play with dd, or I need to put him down to do something for her. Does he roll because he's on the floor more? I don't know, but he's on the floor more because he rolls! He tries to roll in his bouncy chair, so that's dangerous without close supervision, and he twists and turns and does bridges in the rnp. He almost arched himself right out of the sink bath once. So the floor really is the safest option.
Dd rolled back to front sometime after 4 months, and front to back later, but she really didn't mind being on her tummy and didn't seem to care to roll over that way. She's also extremely fine motor oriented and was on the later end of all gross motor skills except sitting on her own. Once she could sit she was happy as can be just sitting and playing. There was something really nice about that. I'm pretty sure I'm in for it with this little boy.
Ugh I'm sorry sarcaztic10 I don't know how pumping is such an issue at workplaces. I hope all new builds these days are designed with them in mind. It made me happy to see the pumping lounge at the mall a few weeks ago but I know that's the exception not the norm.
I'm really glad the ladies I share my office with are cool with me pumping in there while we work because otherwise my only option was an outlet-less washroom.
Side note - my principal walked in on me pumping today. He looked flustered and uncomfortable and I just smiled and asked how his day was going lol

That sounds like about what I do. M is on his playmat when I'm making breakfast for me and DD and sometimes while I'm eating it if I'm lucky. Usually he's on the floor with DD another time at some point. He isn't rolling but he's very close to rolling back to belly. I partially blame his huge cloth diapers but I'm not worried. DD rolled at 4 months, and I remember being worried then when my birth board was full of rolling babies and she wasn't.

cabbagecabbage are your cd really bulky? Since my 3 month old is huge I have to add extra layers...I'm afraid the cd are restricting his movement....am I cray, cray? I feel he will have issues sitting up with all that bulk!

I use mostly prefolds or fitted with a cover for day and they definitely bulk up his middle. My daughter sat up early and she was in cloth too so I say they won't but I can't be certain.

tikoberry99 i use one size cloth and they are definitely bulkier than disposible and probably do make it harder to move but dd eventually moved and it was no problem. It may slow them at first but i am not worried he will move that bulky diaper soon.
