Newbie Questions - to help us get to know you!
1. How are you? 2. What is your status? (TTC, TTA, etc.) 3. Tell us something about yourself - Hobbies? Pets? Favorite TV show? Anything you'd like to share!
QOTW: Well, here we are in November. So tell me, do you have any favorite Thanksgiving/holiday traditions?
I'm super loopy right now. Just took my new prescription xanax for the first time in years. I'd been seriously holding off, strong at that bottle with some willpower all week, but I had to succumb tonight! Monday I threw a Halloween party. So much food. I also came up with a nanowrimo story, though I may just write it and not worry about time constraints. November is usually pretty busy! I had to pull out a 10 year old ibook to write it on since my newer computer is dead. Still works, so yay! That's all I've got! Hope everyone is having a good week so far
QOTW nothing major. Used to do ravioli for thanksgiving but the past few years has been more traditional turkey and stuff. Well, usually on the Wednesday before I cook like crazy and then go out to see a movie. Then thanksgiving night after everyone is gone I put up the lego winter village. But since I never took it down...i guess that's off the list this year.
Hey ladies, I wanted to finally intro. I pulled the trigger and started participating over on GKU in their TTCAL thread.
I'm addymac. My H and I are 30, been together for almost 10 years. I lost my first baby at 14+4 related to complications with cysts on the umbilical cord. It was a missed mc, since they think the baby died at 12w but we only found out at a f/u u/s at 14-+4. Had to have a d&c 8.25.16 and shit just sucks. But, we want to be parents so I'm trying to heal while TTC again. I'm not sure how well it's going, so we'll see how this cycle goes. I'm on CD2, after two BFN cycles, including one where I thought I was having a CP but my dr insists my beta levels just hadn't dropped back to zero from the mmc.
Newbie Questions - to help us get to know you!
1. How are you? I'm....okay. I have okay days and struggle days. Sometimes in the same day. If I keep busy I do okay but being alone or in my head is when things get bad.
2. What is your status? (TTC, TTA, etc.) TTC
3. Tell us something about yourself - Hobbies? Pets? Favorite TV show? Anything you'd like to share!
I like to read, I have kindle unlimited and will binge series of not well known authors (most of what free kindle unlimited is, i think), but I'm just happy to be reading again so much after years of college and grad school pushed it aside.
We probably watch way too much tv, but it's nice to watch shows and check out and just not think. However we recently started watching This Is Us, and hot damn, it makes me cry throughout the show several times. I cry a lot, haha. I don't recommend it. It has a LOT of triggers, but I'm trying to force myself to face some triggers and power through. Also, it's a really good show.
Love football and hockey, am a big Bears and Blackhawks fan. NOT a Cubs fan- so I'm not a big fan of what a shitshow this city is going to be these few days 😣
QOTW: Well, here we are in November. So tell me, do you have any favorite Thanksgiving/holiday traditions?
One of my favorite things is when we couldn't travel to family bc of my work schedule (I'm a nurse), so my H would bake from scratch a pie and make homemade stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade everything. He loves to cook and bake but rarely has time, so it's just nice to see him do all this and be happy about it. Plus, I usually will be asleep (work night shift), so I wake up in time for the food to be ready and just have to eat it 😆
Welcome addymac! I'm sorry you are here, but this is a wonderful place full of wonderful people!
AFM: Waiting for a positive OPK, but a little worried that I may have missed the surge because of life being so crazy and not being home a lot to test during the day. I normally get a surge around 3, but since I had some late days I think I missed it Wednesday (I had EWCM followed by ovulation pain last night). Ah well.
NCALR: School is going great! I'm still getting decent grades which is miraculous. The weather has been weird, so warm for up here at this time of year. Also I was asked to come back and teach again next semester!!! YAY!
QOTW: We normally go over to H's sister's house and do thanksgiving there. Everyone brings a dish or two and we eat and they all watch Football. Then I can FINALLY come home and play Christmas music without H growling at me. LOL
Hey loves! Just a quicky update for me right now, I'll be back later to properly tag&comment- for some reason I'm friggin exhausted and can hardly keep my eyes open (and it's just 5pm!), think I need a before-dinner nap!
I think I accidentally skipped a couple of WuWs what with my holiday and all. we had an AWESOME time btw! Anyway, so we're in the mids of our second IVF cycle. I started downreg mid October, AF showed on Wednesday finally and I went in for my cd3 baseline this morning. All looked good and I'm starting stims tonight. I'm excited to start stimming LOL as some of the downreg s/e are kicking my ass and I know it'll get better once I add stims phew.
Feeling somewhat low about things though. My AFC was a whopping 3 and I'm really disappointed about that. Almost feels like I'm out of the race before I even started.. I know (and the drs keep repeating this too) AFC can change per cycle but F* - it was what like 8 this past April, then went down to 4-5 in June and now it's 3? Good thing this is our last try cause I'm running on empty!? Ugh. But well, it is what it is and hopefully these 3 will grow into nice plump follies with awesome quality eggs, right? Trying to take things one day at a time and perhaps I'll be surprised yet.
menrandes, so sorry about the additional dx, but hopefully once it's sunken in and you were able to process things, it will help you find a fresh options for a better quality of life. **hugs** Ugh about the broken new laptop - is it still under warranty? Good luck with nano! You sound so busy!
elliecat17, ahh shame you may have missed your surge! I like doing OPKs but always found it a bit stressy when I couldn't test at regular intervals and then I'd worry about missing my surge, too, and feel all anxious heh. Woot for getting asked back to teach again, and WTG on your grades!
