I need to either suck it up and learn back carries, or finally break down and buy a stroller. Ugh. I want her to stay small like a normal baby. Stop being such a fatty! Lol i joke. But for real, I bought her new 12 month pj's and they leave marks on her legs because her legs are so fat. I don't even know what to do about it.
I guess on the bright side since she's older now you could probably just get a decent umbrella stroller that would work?
Yeah. I plan to just get one of those really cheap small ones. That way it's easy to take on the bus.
So I was all proud of myself because I had given Ridley a spoon with a tiny bit of peanut butter on the back of it to entertain herself with. And it worked like magic. She would go from fussing/crying to happy in no time flat. And it would keep her entertained for like 10 minutes! I did it three different times and then I was all cocky and told h about this wonderful find...
Then not two minutes later she gags herself with the spoon and pukes everywhere. XD So much for that. Haha.

I feel like things like that always happen to me! I'm all "hey DH! Look how well she's sitting! ". Then she falls over and hits her head. 😳

This happened to me. I was showing h how he will lean forward to grab things and then he face planted. H was like "is this what you do to him all day? 😂😂😂"
Cannot wait for blake to get home so I can start drinking. This bottle of wine is calling my name. H keeps sending me election related articles and it's running my state of Zen. No politics until I have alcohol. Thems the rules.
@led I also need to suck it up and learn back carries. But lo is a leg straightener so I'm a bit worried about that. I've been wearing him in the ergo to get around. I'm eyeing a few ssc, the Tula and a Lenny lamb. The Lenny lamb is $100 more but from what I've read it's much comfier and younger babies tend to fit it way better.

R is also a leg straightener. Rama came over the other day and we tried but ultimately have up. I'll have to get more expert help before trying again.

Wrapping Rachel has an awesome YouTube tutorial on wrapping seat poppers in a ruck. I despise rucks, but I practiced it because it's an easy carry, then realized I could apply the technique to pretty much anything else (double hammock is my favorite).
I'm still a bad TCFer, still not getting any sleep, and dealing with some anxiety that's being made so much worse by not sleeping!! DS slept ok last night so FX this continues. I'm tiiiiiiiiiiiired.
Lo is not enjoying being worn as much which I'm assuming is because he wants to look at everything. I hope it doesn't last. Baby wearing is everything when I have both kids by myself.
I have been absent for quite some time due to travels and just life. Hoping I can just hop back in!
Today I had my umbilical hernia repaired. It was the first time I have ever been sedated and had surgery. I was nervous but I made it through and and feeling OK. I can't pick Harrison up but DH has been a great help. The anesthesiologist said to pump and dump 😠two times. I was planning to pump and dump for 24 hours. WWM16 do?
Daylight savings is also kicking my butt. Hate how it gets dark so early. I'm exhausted by 8pm every night.
walkek85 thank you! As far as pumping and dumping, I would only do what he said. If you're that concerned, could you pump it and mix half and half with milk you pumped at another time so the concentration is lower? That's probably what I would do if I had a concern with it. I've done that when I've had a few drinks before.
I'm sure the anesthesiologist's recommendation is conservative, walkek85. If you have the extra milk on hand, do what makes you comfortable by all means, but if milk is a concern I think you're safe to follow the recommendation!
I am just having all the feels tonight. I feel you on the anxiety mrsw26. I just had a rough day at DC... Kid sobbed heavily for 3 hours straight then was weepy with bouts of heavy sobbing for the rest of the day. I'm usually pretty laid back and not easily upset, but that was tough. MH took the babe when he got home and I got an hour to myself, thank God, but I'm already dreading tomorrow. I'm just tapped out from today and am afraid I won't be able to fully recharge for tomorrow. I also don't want my baby to grow up. Wah.

Babywearing question...I wear LO when I go grocery shopping. It's getting cold here and I've been wondering how do I stay warm getting to and from the store. Cuz it seems like it would be too bulky to put the carrier over my coat. I feel like I'm overthinking this, but not sure what to do.
I feel sick. Sorry to talk politics but at the end of he day regardless of who wins we all need to be united. My sister and I don't have the same views on politics I'm very to myself about them and she is very much not - I actually don't think she really even knows who I voted for. She is so mad at my dad for who he supports and has openly gone off about it- but maybe I'm trying to be too peaceful but like i hate how mean everyone is being about others opinions 😔

Hey, I work on Mothercare and this is a huge source of PP mother's worries as well as other pumping Mom's who have surgery.
Anathesiologists say pump and dump because they don't know and want to be super safe. We recommend you nurse through it or do whatever you normally do. Anesthesia is out of your system pretty quickly; when your side effects are gone your milk is safe again. This is what all our OBGYNs and LCs recommend in our hospital.
I would not pump and dump. But it's your choice. babycaps might know something about this too.
Thank you all for the feedback. I dumped twice and will now go back to nursing...in the morning. DH can handle the wake ups tonight so I can get a full nights rest! 😴

I'm looking for some advice/ encouragement about BFing..
Baby H and I both had a stomach bug last week. It was nasty and lasted almost a full week. I think I drank maybe 2 bottles of water and had a handful of crackers in 3-4 days and H's nursing went way down. We are both back to feeling better, but my supply has totally tanked. Anyone have any experience with this?
I'm drinking 2-3 liters of water, taking FenuGreek, drinking MM tea, and pumping after his feeds.. but it's still crappy. We ran out of my frozen stash today and broke out the formula after he nursed.. I'm just not ready to wean yet. I'm having a super hard time with this. Anyone bounce back after being super dehydrated?!

I've never tried it, but some people like the coats made specifically for baby wearing. It's not that cold here so I would probably just use a pasmina type scarf.
I don't think I've been that dehydrated while nursing but for minor cases Gatorade and oatmeal (or oatmeal cookies) seem to help me. Good luck getting back on track!
