Babywearing question...I wear LO when I go grocery shopping. It's getting cold here and I've been wondering how do I stay warm getting to and from the store. Cuz it seems like it would be too bulky to put the carrier over my coat. I feel like I'm overthinking this, but not sure what to do.
Right now I wear him over my thin coat, in the winter I'll probably put the carrier on under my jacket, put him in and hold my jacket over the carrier while I run into the store.
I'm looking for some advice/ encouragement about BFing..
Have you tried power pumping?
Explain. He's nursing basically every 2 hours. I pump after his feeds and if by some miracle he does go longer than that I'm still pumping every 2 hours just to keep emptying.

During A's first winter I'd put the carrier on under my coat, and leave my coat unzipped. If it was super cold i would tuck a warm blanket in around him so we both stayed nice and cozy! It worked pretty well. Our winters average in the 30's-40's most of the time here with occasional colder blasts.

A power pump is when you pump off and on for an hour straight. 20 mins on, 10 off, 10 on, 10 off, 10 on.

I have been absent for quite some time due to travels and just life. Hoping I can just hop back in!
Today I had my umbilical hernia repaired. It was the first time I have ever been sedated and had surgery. I was nervous but I made it through and and feeling OK. I can't pick Harrison up but DH has been a great help. The anesthesiologist said to pump and dump 😠two times. I was planning to pump and dump for 24 hours. WWM16 do?
Daylight savings is also kicking my butt. Hate how it gets dark so early. I'm exhausted by 8pm every night.
Hey, I work on Mothercare and this is a huge source of PP mother's worries as well as other pumping Mom's who have surgery.
Anathesiologists say pump and dump because they don't know and want to be super safe. We recommend you nurse through it or do whatever you normally do. Anesthesia is out of your system pretty quickly; when your side effects are gone your milk is safe again. This is what all our OBGYNs and LCs recommend in our hospital.
I would not pump and dump. But it's your choice. babycaps might know something about this too.
walkek85, Pump and dump x2 is plenty! What you can do with the 3rd and 4th pumps if you want, is store them and mix them in with non-anesthesia milk later on to further dilute anything. I'm probably too late now. I'm sorry. I've been more of a lurker this week or as of late. Tons going on.
